Erree's Poetry
Escape
Idle time and you lose yourself in dreams
The moon walks by faintly seen
And truths be told but no one listens
Beliefs are only as far as you see
And substance has no bearing on the mind
For want of the day, the night was lost
And as a shadow I slipped away.

Eternal
the walls unfold,
and darkness steps out,
"It's time,"
but I won't listen.
I'm immune to his touch,
his lifeless hands,
the feel of the wind,
as he draws closer,
the walls collapse,
and darkness steps near,
"It's time,"
but I won't go.
I'm immune to his grip,
his fleshless hands,
the sight of nothing beyond,
as he draws closer,
the walls are dust,
and darkness steps close,
"It's time,"
but I won't believe.
I'm immune to the years,
the passing centuries,
the sound of weakening footsteps,
as he walks away.

She
the blood of innocents taints her lips
she, immortal without a heart
trips you with a smile
the lies she weaves kill the mind
and suffocate the soul

I Know
I know what drowns the hopeless
what waters shadow eyes
and fills a mind with blackness
I know how deadly a kiss can be
what indifference kills a heart
and fills a mind with depthlessness
I know what lies in deception
what clouds all reason
and fills a mind with loneliness
I know what the worth of a dream is
what mystery haunts a heart
and fills a mind with paranoia
I know that indecision is just an excuse
what despair a shattered love is
and fills a mind with numbness

Weary
I grow weary
of the same old song
I feel myself slipping
into the past
the night raises up
to catch me
with its teeth
and shakes me around
dancing with me
toying with me
welcome back
to the beginning
and I grow weary
of the same old song
