Okay, okay, okay...I'm sure that you all know a lot about Dave's life by now, but here you are anyway...
When he was 11 or 12 years old, his father bought him a cheap little acoustic guitar from a garage sale (aren't we glad he kept with this instrument?) and his cousin (boy, does he have a lot of cousins!) taught him a few things. Dave was totally inspired by Jimi Hendrix (aren't we all?) and found that playing the guitar was his calling. It was not long before he bought an electric guitar.
But, as tragic things do happen, when Dave was 15 his mother and aunt were murdered by his mother's jealous boyfriend. This unfortunate incidence leads Dave to drugs, sex, and drives him even harder into the music world.
He eventually was kicked out of private school for using drugs, getting bad grades, and having long hair, and he enrolls in public school, which he eventually drops out of. But, this fuels Dave to strive for excellence in music, and he had joined a couple of unsuccessful bands.
Now, we all know what happened after this...Dave joined Jane's Addiction...blah, blah, blah...Jane's broke up...blah, blah, blah...he started Deconstruction...blah, blah, blah...he joins Red Hot Chili Peppers...blah, blah, blah...he leaves RHCP...blah, blah, blah...he starts Spread.
What is Spread, you ask? Spread is the project Dave started with RHCP drummer, Chad Smith. They have recorded the album (which should be due out in January, but the release date is ever-changing) and Dave is currently looking for female musicians to complete the band so that they can go on tour! (Yeah! Tour! Can I join your band, Dave? Pretty please?)
