Hey, my birthday falls on 2nd October - could it be fate?! Probably not... but anyway...
This album is filled with U2's struggle with their faith in Christianity (e.g. "Gloria" - a gospel song) but musically, it somehow falls short and was a poor follow-up to Boy.
I guess die-hard fans would get what October is about but there's no harm in giving this album a try. Personally, I think the track "October" is really beautiful and haunting (and no, not because my birthday is in October!)
My Fave Tracks: October, Gloria.
First of all, this album truely contains some of Edge's most creative work. The track Rejoice is incredible, one of my all time favorites. Fire shows the classic Edge sound: Delay and reverb. this is one of my favorite songs to play (guitar) along with the cd. then theres the song I Threw A Brick... where Larry really gets to show off! The song that Adam shows off on is Gloria, and Bono shows off his lyrical skills throughout that song and throughout the entire album. the only song i'm not too fond of is "Scarlet", it seems like a time-filler to me. other than that, every song on the album is really powerful and meaningful. in fact, this is my second favorite album, only next to "Achtung Baby".

i think that "October" is a great album. my favorite song is 'TOMORROW' when i first heard it i thought the song was about a British army coming to kill a Irish family.
I WAS WRONG!!!!! I heard that it was about the death of his mother it haunted me i cry every time i hear that song cause i only can try to imagine what that must have been like for him.
