Supplies:
- 20" x 12" piece of cat pelt (or craft fur
for greater color variety)
- Square tissue box
- Thread
- Hot glue
- Preserved or imitation cat face pieces (try
to coordinate eye color with fur color).
|
Tools Required:
- Ruler
- Crayon
- Knife
- Needle
- Hot glue gun

|
1. Lay the pelt, hair side
down, on a work surface. On a straight line, trace all four
sides of the box, making sure that the grain of the fur
falls from top to bottom, vertically. Also, trace the box
top.
|

|
2. Using a ruler as a
guide, carefully cut out each form with a knife blade, then
cut a 3.5 inch slit in the center of the top piece.
|

|
3.Carefully examine the
pelt pieces, decide which single piece is most suitable for
use as the face. Attach face pieces using hot glue to the
special pelt piece.
|

|
4. Working with the hair
side face down, stitch the four side pelt pieces together,
side by side, making sure that the grain of the fur is all
falling in the same direction..
|
|
5. Attach the edge of the
top piece to each of the four side pieces, then carefully
turn inside-out and brush the fur neatly. Sprinkle with flea
powder if necessary.
