In the Beginning     (1978)

Tales of 1001 Nights, Vol. I     (1990)

My first exposure to the wonderful music of Renaissance came on February 5, 1998. I was thoroughly impressed by this particular cd compilation! It contains "Prologue" from Prologue, "Carpet of the Sun" from Ashes are Burning, "Black Flame," "Running Hard" and "Mother Russia" from Turn of the Cards and "Ocean Gypsy" from Scheherezade And Other Stories

Tales of 1001 Nights, Vol. II"     (1990)

Another impressive part of the compilation. If these compilations are representative of Renaissance's work then I will have to listen to more of their albums in the future!

Da CAPO     (1995)

Above graphic created by Storm Thorgerson.

The psychedelic cover artwork is brilliant! This 2 cd compilation features, on Disc I: "Kings And Queens" and "Island", in addition to "Love Goes On" and "Love Is All" by the original Renaissance line-up of Jim McCarty, Keith Relf, Jane McCarty, Louis Cennamo and John Hawken. Additionally, it includes: "Prologue" and "Bound For Eternity", also "Carpet Of The Sun" and "Ashes Are Burning", "Black Flame," "Running Hard" and "Mother Russia", in addition to "Africa."

Disc II contains: "Trip To The Fair," "Ocean Gypsy" and "The Young Princess As Told By Scheherezade", in addition to "Midas Man" and "Captive Heart". This disc also showcases: "Northern Lights" and "A Song For All Seasons," in addition to "Forever Changing" and "Flood At Lyons" and "Bonjour Swansong" and "Ukraine Ways". Last, but not least are: "The Entertainer" and "Writers Wronged." Altogether, this 2 cd compilation may be the best of the compilations thus issued due to the fact that it includes songs from the original Renaissance, in addition to 2 previously unreleased songs and songs from the later albums Azure D'Or, Camera Camera and Time Line. In any event, the songs are a brilliant introduction to the work of Renaissance!

King Biscuit Flower Hour     (1997)

A thoroughly impressive live recording with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Especially noteworthy tracks are: "Can You Understand," "Carpet Of The Sun," "Can You Hear Me" and "Song of Scheherezade"!

King Biscuit Flower Hour, Vol. 2     (1997)

An extraordinary live album! Especially noteworthy tracks are: "Running Hard," "Midas Man," "Ashes Are Burning," "Mother Russia," "Prologue" and "Touching Once (Is So Hard To Keep)."
