23 years old, Kevin is the oldest of the Boys, and they say he's
the serious one. "It's in my nature", he says, "I've always been that way."
But his fans love him for just that. He seems more reserved, more mature
in ways. More mysterious. He is, he admits to it, especially to being a
hopelessly romantic.
Are you involved with anyone right now?
I barely have time to read a book or flip through a magazine, so
as for a relationship with a girl...Right now, everything in my world is
revolving around the Backstreet Boys. The schedule is hell. During our
last tour in Quebec, for example, we traveled 2000 kilometers in a bus
over 5 days and gave 5 performances in 5 different cities. And then we
kept going. It never stops...
Can't a long-distance relationship work?
Maybe. But I'm so rarely home that I doubt any girl would be satisfied
with what little time I'd have for her. It might work for a while, but
she'd drop me quickly... and on my side, I don't believe that a relationship
like that can really go anywhere. Seeing someone for only a few hours a
month isn't synonymous with romance. When my life calms down, I'll probably
have time to invest in a serious relationship.
How would you describe the girl of your dreams?
I see her as sexy, or, to be more exact, sensual. Without ignoring
the qualities a girl has, her personality is very important to me, her
energy, her presence, her appearance.
So you're not looking only for external beauty?
Not at all. It goes way beyond that. When I talk about appearance,
I mean what's reflected from inside. It's personality, qualities, soul...
I don't know, but not just the exterior. In other words, the appearance
would just be a reflection of what's inside. I want someone real, someone
whose internal values match with what's outside. That's what's I want.
When I see her, I'll know her right away, that she's the one I was
waiting for.
