I had heard lots of good things about REO Speedealer before I saw them open up for a Kiss tribute band at the Euclid Tavern. The good things were right, they rocked! I decided to try to interview the guys after the show. Unfortunately, I didn't have a tape recorder and was pretty drunk by the end of their set - so I decided to start a new feature in the zine - a one ? interview that I would have to remember....this actually worked so here's a better than nothing interview with REO Speedealer. Check out the record and live reviews for more info on these guys.

2324: So was Cleveland the shittiest town you guys ever had to play?

REO: I don't think so, there's been worse.

2324: What was the worst?

REO: I'm not sure, let me ask the other guys in the band and get back to you on that.

(later on...)

REO: OK we got it, the shittiest club we ever had to play was Taco Land in San Antonio Texas.

2324: OK, cool, thanks for the short interview! I'll try to remember the answer so I can put it in the e-zine!

REO: Here I'll write it down so you don't forget - I really want people to know what a piece of shit club that place is.

(Writes down answer on an REO Speedealer postcard....)

2324: Thanks. It must suck having to open up for a cover band!

REO: Believe me we have played with a lot worse. They seem pretty decent, there's lot of pyro backstage.

(At this point, Steve from the Euclid Tavern joins in the fun...)

Steve: Do you guys want to open for Electric Frankenstein tomorrow?

REO: Sure, we have the day off.

2324: Hey Steve, these guys rocked!

Steve: You should check out the show tomorrow, they're playing again!

2324: Yeah, I'm gonna try to check it out!

(too hungover the next day to motivate myself to make it out to the Euclid Tavern...)

Well there you go - not much of an interview but oh well. I have no idea which member(s) of the band I was talking to so all responsed from the band are simply labeled REO. The exact wording of this conversation is not here, this is simply taken from memory - apologies if anything is grossly wrong. To make up for this lame interview, here's a discography.

REO Speeddealer Discography

Double Clutchin Finger Fuckin 7" - Royalty Records
