The main feature this issue was supposed to be a review/feature on the Confederacy of Scum Supershow 98. My ride for this event fell through however, so I wasn't there so no feature on that. There ended being another big show that weekend featuring JFA and a bunch of other bands in southern Ohio at a place called Skatopia. You can read about my experience with that in the Skatopia article. Also, to make up for the COS report, I decided to finally do an interview with Dr. Heathen Scum of the Mentors which you can also check out. I also did an interview with REO Speedealer after their show - due to drunkeness and lack of a tape recorder, it's not very long. A band called the Plague played in Cleveland the same weekend as the COS Supershow, I was hoping it was the old Cleveland band the Plague but it wasn't. So I did a short article on the REAL Plague.
I may not have received much feedback from last issue but I did receive a couple letters from people whose bands were featured in last issue's 80s metal retrospective. First off, I heard from Gord (Sofa-Q and ex-Piledriver), he has a great website explaining the history of Piledriver as well as what he is up to these days. You can find the address in the guestbook (sorry I have been writing this thing forever tonight, and am too lazy to look it up right now). I also just heard from Pungent Vomit of Intense Mutilation fame...those guys just recently put up a website - and I decided an interview would be in order - this is the only interview with them that I have seen this decade....so enjoy. There are also a lot more record and show reviews than last time around. If you check out a band, tell them you heard about them here. Thanks! Enough BS here's the contents this time around....
