Scum: did five shows, the first one was funny cause sickie pulled an el duce and got to high to rock. so me on guitar and moosedick on drums and our buddy h. davis on bass. but the rest were good with sickie rockin out. good turn out, not huge but repsectable. smoked a lot of good dutch weed.
2324: The tour was with Hammerhawk(is that the right name?), can you tell the readers a bit about them? I know they have been around since the early 80s but know little myself.
Scum: hammerhawk has been around a long time over there. there are a classic metal band and they really rock out.
2324: Any cool stories about Amsterdam (Ie drugs or the legit prostitute action)
Scum: well we got high and walked around and looked at the whores. its a blast. its was fantastic weather there when we were there as well
2324: Have you been handling all the vocal duties as of recent shows?
Scum: yeah. its fun, but i wish the duce was there to handle it.
2324: Is Insect on Acid (backup singer on many of the Mentors tours) involved with the new Mentors line-up at all?
Scum: now he has kinda disappeared. not sure what hes doin now. hes a great guy.
2324: Have you heard about the new book about the theories that Cobain's death wasn't a suicide? What do you think about the fact that Duce's claim is still being tossed around by people?
Scum: well honestly its bullshit , duce wouldnt hurt a fly and youd have to be crazy to hire im to kill somebody. 2324: Do you think we'll be hearing any conspiracy theories about Duce's death?
Scum: yeah theres some already, but ya know it was just booze at work, thats it.
2324: You just released a new solo CD, did you play/sing everything yourself or are there some special guests?
Scum: i did it with our buddy h.davis, who engineered rock bible. he played all drums and some guitars and bass. i did all other guitars and bass , keys and vocals.
2324: Have new Mentors songs been finished, and if so have you guys been playing them out or have plans for a new post-Duce release?
Scum: not really, but we are getting back in the swing so maybe in a while.
2324: Are there still plans for an El Duce - The Man The Myth The Video part II?
Scum: yeah but i havent started work on it yet. in a year or two.
2324: You guys played Cleveland on Halloween, the show turned out rather bizarre with a rather small crowd with a majority of the crowd being from the punk scene...how do you guys usually go over with the punks?
Scum: depends, mostly yeah but were not their favorite, they like other things better
2324: Right after you played Cleveland, you did Expo Of The Extreme in Chicago. I heard the show wasn't as big as it was promised to be, what was your experience like there?
Scum: it was really fun, there was a good size crowd, agin not huge but still a lot of people.
2324: Inevitable question here....any crazy stories about El Duce that you'd like to share?
Scum: a lot of em, i m gonna write a book. the thing about duce was that he was a crazy guy but ya know when he was sober me and him would hang out and he was just a really nice mellow dude, as a kid he worked at safeway as a boxboy and we would go up and harass him at work. he used to fry baloney and give it to his dog.
2324: To wrap up, anything else you'd like to say about the new lineup of the Mentors?
Scum: well its still the mentors. duce was a big part and he is in our hearts forever. me and sickie go back further than duce actually by a few years. we still know how to rock and we aim to prove it.
