In 1997 so many famous people were lost. Thier lives reviewed and admired on television, radio, and the newspapers. Certainly any loss is unfortunate, but one in particular truly shook our world. She left behind her loving husband Gary, her sons Jeff, Greg and Eric. Daughter-in-laws Gina and Heather, and four beautiful grandchildren Michael, Kaethe, Alex and Zachary. Not that she wished to leave them but simply had no choice. The loss of her was more than just the loss of a person, it was the loss of looking into her eyes and feeling the sense of security that only a mothers eyes can bring. The loss of warm arms wrapped around you that made you feel the comfort of snuggling under a feather bed on a cold December morning. The loss of a gentle smile that seemed to say "your so silly" or without words letting you know everything was going to be just fine. The loss of her eager ears, so happy to hear all about you and your family. The loss of a friend. How do you get through that kind of loss? I wish I could say, but you see we are all still learning ourselves. We love you Mom and cling dearly to the love you left behind.
"Edelweiss, Edelweiss, Every morning you greet me. Small and white, clean and bright. You look happy to meet me. Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow, bloom and grow forever. Edelweiss, Edelweiss, bless my homeland forever".
