I personally think Darren and Daniel should win some kind of counselling award for saving so many from suicide with just under five minutes of cd time. The lyrics speak of a truth that may have been personal but was made universal. Everyone who listens to it knows someone like 'The Bitter One', or sees their own stories and dreams in hers. Even without actually giving a happy ending in the song, just knowing someone else knows what it's like to feel your pain makes it less somehow. But it's not just the lyrics. If someone asked me why I'm a savage garden fan the closest thing to a reason I have is the outro section of this song. If the lyrics articulated what it's like to hurt then the music sings of a pain and of a happiness deeper then any song lyric or story could. So this is my little corner of the vast ocean of the internet to tell the world how much I have to thank To The Moon and Back for. It's saved my life a thousand times over, as it has many other people. Thankyou savage garden for giving us a reason to carry on and an anthem for the heartbroken youth.
