Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a webring?
A webring is a group of sites with a common interest that are linked
together in a "circle of websites" (I guess it's more like a web than
a circle, since a person can access different sites from one page using the
next, previous, skip, random, etc. functions). Basically, by following the
webring, one goes through a series of sites related to a particular subject.
What will a webring do for my site?
By becoming part of a webring, you increase the traffic going to your
site. All of the sites in a webring are connected so essentially, you have
a link to your site from all of the other sites in the ring, and the other sites
have a link from you.
How much space will it take up?
Webrings take up hardly any space at all. All you need to put on your
page is about ten lines of text - that's it. The picture and links will show like below.
The picture is loaded onto your page from the ringmaster's site, which is why a
webring will take up very little space.
How much does it cost?
It's completely free, and you can cancel your membership at any time.
I'm very lazy. What do I have to do to become a member of the webring?
You don't have to do anything, but fill out a short little form and paste on
an HTML code that I send you. You'll then become a member and that's
it. It's that simple. My pet goldfish can even do it.
Hopefully that answers all your questions. If not, e-mail
me and I'll be glad to answer any other questions that you may have.
