ROBBIE AWORK
Bullyrag
Number 84 out of Kerrang! top 100 list of coolest rock stars

Liverpudlian raggametalpunkfunker and spliff roller extraordinare, fond of jumping up in a fashion
"I'd describe my look as ragamuffin, although I used to be called a tramp at school," says Robbie Awork. "I don't have the money for all the clothes I like, so I end up making my own fashions. I like to wear baggy Nyce lumberjack trousers, which I usully get in Covent Garden in London, and Timberland boots which look like Frankenstein's shoes. They're a huge improvement on the black suede zip-up granny shoes my Mum made me wear at school, which I've never forgiven her for. At the time I was trying to look like Marvin gaye, with 70's flares and crocodile skin shoes, but I looked more like Bob Marley with my dreads and £1 jeans. Pretty fucking sharp. Now, I like wearing fleece balaclavas. I'd recommend making sure that none of your clothes match, because the unco-ordinated look is in for '98.
"The coolest people I know are Paul Weller and Lenny Kravitz. Weller's a very warm and friendly guy and still in touch with himself, which is rare for someone who's been in the music business so long, and Lenny is totally cool, a really good friend."
