saybek's Pizza Theory of June

The first pizza's creation is one of mystery. Why was the pizza created in the first place and how did it eventuate? What monumental life-altering history-changing event caused it? Fear not, humble net-citizen, for I will now tell all...

A long long time ago (in a land very very close) there was a bar full of drunk people. One of them who had way too much got thrown out by the bouncers and landed on the footpath. As he did so, Pablo Picasso (the famous renaissance artiste) was strolling past on his way to a more higher class booze up. The drunk man threw up and Picasso loved the "randomness of colour" across the street and remembered that image for a long time.

Picasso wasn't moving much artwork at the time, so to make money on the side he designed and painted restaurant walls, ceilings and sometimes tractors (he would have if he could). But I digress...Anyway, he once painted a restaurant in a design now known as the "technicolour yawn", but then he just called it "pizzaz".

As time went on, the restaurant decided they needed a "house specialty", a meal that you could only get in that restaurant. By simply copying Picasso's design from the wall onto a sandwich, the unimaginative chef changed history forever, and got himself a raise of two garlic breads per month. This meal he called the Pizzaaz, after the restaurant,(he couldn't spell) but this was too long to fit on the menu, so he shortened it. And thus: "Pizza".
