1045 Brad Interiors Lord what a long fucking week this was. The hassles with the vehicel reached it's head today...The trailer I oh so painstakingly finally dispatched Thursday night was never needed so I had to dump it today. I got to the Quartermasters building at about 0645, first one there and had to wait I don't know, ages it seemd, for anyone else to get there and give me a score. Sux. Got off detail around 1900. Went up to West's room (who was on detail too)0 where we ate pizza, drank a couple beers, and watched Beevis and Butthed Do America. It was long long day. I have one more heiney by my side as I write this...what should early on a Friday night but I have no money now and no-one to really go out with--West took off with Sharp and Duke to get more beer...I left cuz I didn't want to mooch off them...Around here, w/o the booze, it's a pointless endeavor so... Met a really cool gal today on detail...strawberry
red hair from XVIII Airborne Corps---works down at 18th PSB (Personnel
Services Brigade) where I often go to drop off chapter packets for
orders to be cut on them, etc. She lives over at Smoke Bomb hill,
where the post 24 hour shoppette and burger king is...I have ofttimes gotten
my liquor from that store at early(late) hours...
Aaaaahhhhhh. Finally got my chance to catch up on my sleep...something ten hours last night. Hmmm yum good. Leland tried to go to sleep at like 2100. It didn't happen, even after I left to go to Griffin's room for a bit--he actually wanted a beer (West had come back with some Killian's Red)...apparently been a hard time for him lately...shit...I'm actually smoking again--it's just been a rough week. Work--Draughn, Nevers, Rodriguez, Strohl...ay yi yi. so much to do in so little time. With SFC Wade out it seems like a never ending barage of work...but I'm gettign through it. Although I'm stressed a bit, it's good to actually feel productive for a change. Smith left for Airborne School yesterday too, so there's just that much more stuff to deal with. There was a guy from 519th that came down with Spinal Meningitis Wednesday too...went into convulsions, etc, the whole nine yards...they rushed him off to surgery and last I head he was laying in a bed on life support...waitign for his parents to come and say goodbye before they flipped the switch. Just like that, dead. Life is a fleeting occupation for sure. I never knew the guy but the name is familiar--i've seen him around the barraks once or twice I'm sure. There's a jump Monday. I still don't know if I'm on it or not. If so, it'll be a LONG fucking day again as I hafta pick up the truck at 0430 aand take it to the quartermasters to do chute shake out....THEN go back and jump? OH boy...finger's crossed. Monday I need to get my military ID replaced. I went a few days ago but I had no photo ID and they couldn't do anything for me unless I had my 1sg come down with me...something I *really* don't think he has time to do...I figured I would simply wait until I got my replacement drivign license from CA.knowing that they keep the photos on file I assumed it would be a photo ID they sent...WRONG! Some chincy little paper card stating this is a replacement license and that my license is in good standing in CA; no photo. GRRRRR. At least I was able to find my old passport. It expired in 1997 but hopefully it shall suffice. SO Mig is supposed to be back in town this weekend--his flight for Korea leaves Wednesday--I'll be taking him to the airport. Then that'll be it...last I'll see of him for *at least* a year...if I ever see him again at all. Who knows where I'll be in a year...maybe in Korea myself--maybe just missing his return. Mayeb I'll PCS to some different CONUS (stateside) installation. Maybe I'll be in really godo shape and try to go to Ranger Battlaion...A lot of shit can happen in a year. The army is really good about breaking up friends. Went up to say hi to Tracy thursday night...we watched Multiplicity and caught up on things..apparently she had her appendix pulled a couple weeks ago and has been on convalescent leave...but of course she never bothered to stop in and say hi or anything...oh well no big deal I guess--though I gave her a real bad time about it. It was nice becasue she was sober so she wasn't trying to crawl all over me, and she said as much. She also had one of her guy friends over so that made it easier too.
