OK...so this is more of what I am accustomed to in life then...things that go wrong. I suppose it is time I got a reality check or two...

1) Turns out my own perceived diminished hearing is actual--got my ears tested yesterday and they are actually making me go back again to confirm the results. :( The lady said i still fall within "normal" parameters...but loss is loss. Most definitely wearing ear plugs to all shows from now on.

2) My shoulder has gone gimp. It started a couple weeks ago when I'd wake up in the morning and it'd be sore for no apparent reason. Well...it's not unbearable pain, but it started last night, made it hard to sleep, and it's remained constant since then...getting it check out in a couple hours. I hope the doc looks at it, laughs, and just gives me some pain killers or something...i don't want to cancel my scuba class :(

3) My Sony D8 died. Tried to play a RH tape through it onto the computer and it balked...saying the tape was blank. Classic sign that it needs a tune up (hmmmm hard one to see there huh?). I just hope it doesn't need a new head, motor, roller, capstem, etc. as well.

Here I am, ripe young age of 26 years old, and I seem to be falling apart already...I mean...my deck, with all it's use, has been a trooper for the past four years and has outperformed my expectations. BUT I'm ONLY 26!!!! hehehe

On a positive note...I saw a really good "buy it now" deal on ebay I couldn't pass up on Sunday. Another Tascam DA 20. It was my birthday dang nabbit so i splurged a little. At $250 I just couldn't let it go. I just hope it doesn't play five tapes then need servicing...not quite as great a deal if that's the case. Seeing my luck lately...

Eh.

Christa's sending off a new care package though :)

Comments:

Sorry about your shoulder, loss of hearing and your deck...hope the bad things come in threes is in effect and you won't get anymore bad news.

How's your shoulder doing now? Any word on your deck?

Take care...

Well...no more bad news as of yet. The shoulder feels better, still a bit sore but should be ok in a few more days. Apparently I tore/strained/sprained my trapezius muscle, which is located next to the neck on top da shoulder blade.

Found a reasonable service technician in the states to get my deck repaired...shouldn't cost too terribly much.

and my birthday I spent chilling at home. Not a big birthday person really---after you turn 21 what really is there to celebrate? I was planning to get some ice cream and watch some movies but there wasn't any ice cream to be had :(
I did go out friday night tho so it wasn't a total nothing.
