FLEA MARKET BARGAINS (The Honesty List)

Here's a question that will separate the men from the boys (oops! better add women from the girls).

What real bargains have you picked up at Flea Markets, Charity and Thrift Shops, Boot Sales, etc.

Many collector's that we have come into contact with seem reluctant to admit that they have only paid pennies/dimes for articles worth many pounds/dollars. IT HAPPENS. And following a comment made by William L. (see 'Timeless' article) we have decided to give collector's the opportunity to OWN UP.

So come on, send us details of those bargains.

  • Pieces of Me (Linda Hoyle) - Vertigo Swirl - bought for £1.50 in secondhand store (£85). (G. Stevens)
  • White Album No. 24311 (Beatles) - with all inserts/postcards bought for 50p in charity shop (£125). (D. McTiffin)
  • Hammer to Fall (Live Sleeve) (Queen) - bought for 50p (£200). (D. Bourne)
  • Only the Lonely 78 (Roy Orbison) - paid £7.00 (£400+). (D. Bourne)
  • West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band's 1st LP - paid $1.00 (copy recently auctioned for $11,000+). (T. Leonard)
  • Prodigal (GospelFolk) - paid 10p (£300 current book price, RC). (D. Bourne)
