BATS

Chapter Ten: Macavity's Role in the Bat Predicament

Dem and the others whirled around at the familiar voice.  Macavity himself stood in the doorway, blocking their exit.

"Macavity!" Demeter cried instinctively, cowering behind Munkustrap.

"I should've known he'd figure into this somehow," Munk muttered.

"With what?  The bats?" Mac asked, genuinely confused.

"That's what I mean, yes," Munk replied.

"Oi Bastet, no!  I merely kidnapped Sillabub and Alonzo once the bats were asleep," Mac explained, "Although why I'm telling you, I have no idea."

"Because you're an idiot," Bom suggested, receiving an evil glare from the hidden paw.

"Shut up!" Mac hissed, levitating Bom, and throwing her into a wall.

"Bom!" Dem cried out, and ran to her sister's side.  Mac levitated her away.

"It's you I want, Demeter.  You're coming with me," he hissed.  Dem screamed as she and Macavity vanished into thin air.
