About Chennai
Chennai is the 4th largest city in India and the largest city in Southern India. The city is a meeting point of the old and the new, a fusion of Southern tradition and Western Cultures, a melting pot of all races down South. Stretching along the coastine for about 50 kms, the city hugs the second longest beach in the world, the Marina.
Today Chennai is a bustling Commercial and Industrial Centre. Information Technology, Leather and Automobiles are the main industries. The city is also renowned for its advances in healthcare, temples, churches and Carnatic music.
Climate: Chennai, along the coast is generally hot and humid. In March, the maximum temperature hovers around 35°C and the minimum around 22°C.
Clothing: Cotton and/or synthetic clothing can be worn in the city during all times.
