More Benefits of MCJROTC

While cadets are under no obligation to join the military services, some do enlist. And many take advantage of higher education opportunities such as college, business school, or trade school.

Cadets can help their chances of receiving an NROTC scholarship. This scholarship pays full tuition, cost of textbooks, and provides a subsistence allowance of $100 per month for a maximum of 40 months. NROTC scholarships are available at more than 50 colleges and universities throughout the country.

A successful record in MCJROTC will also reflect favorably on the young man or woman seeking an appointment to any of the United States service academies.

Credit may be given for the first-year course of senior ROTC upon approval of the college or university; or, male MCJROTC cadets who qualify may enroll in the Platoon Leaders Class officer candidate program. Those who enlist can enter the military service with a higher entry-level pay grade following successful completion of boot camp.

Marine Corps JROTC provides boys and girls with an excellent opportunity to build strong and lasting friendships.
