Scooters 1991 Suzuki VX800
(retired)

Nothing like goin' out for a ride on my VX! It isn't the newest bike on the road, but there is just something about this bike. Everywhere you look, it is simply described unanimously as "Suzuki's best kept secret". "A great bike which nobody bought". Hmmmm. Everybody I contact who owns one, has only great stories to tell, no service problems, and plenty of positive feedback. Anyway, my destinations can be anywhere from Reno, Santa Rosa, Monterey Bay, San Francisco, Sacramento, Bend, OR or just the local grocery store. In three years, I have put on about 15,000 miles! Not a bad start, especially considering the yearly average motorcycle usage in the United States is 2,500 miles per person!

I have only taken the bike to about 105mph so far, as I have not felt it necessary to push that number any more than that! I am rather certain the bike will hit about 130mph plus, but I doubt that I will ever get there! While I am not a wimp, there are some things in life not worth dying for!

But now that I have gone down 2 times, for reasons that were out of my control... I feel its better to "hang em up" rather than go out there and take "strike 3"! I think the Gods of Fate have warned me, and I will heed their voices! Therefore, rather sadly, I have retired the VX, and went out and purchased a 4 wheeled motorcycle (otherwise known as a convertible!)

This is the VX sitting in the International Cycle Exchange showroom about a week before it found a home with Scooter. The bike hit Northern California hiways with about 18,800 miles on it. A "pup" by any standard. The engine runs great, and the bike is in overall outstanding physical shape. Gotta love the look of the VX too!
