Hello Friends and Family! This is the first installment of the Rob and Della update. This is also a test to make sure that all your e-mail addresses are working. Please let us know if you would like us to send these updates to a different e-mail address or if you would like to be removed from this distribution list. Sorry it's taken us so long to write. Rob's last day of work at Harborview Hospital was April 9th. That evening we went to a Mariner's game with Lesley and Eric. We had a great time with them watching the game. That was the first time we had been to Safeco Stadium. The next day we drove to Hillsboro, OR and Rob dropped me off at work. Rob then went to his brother's house in Tigard to visit with his parents who were there as well as Scott, susan, Christer and Matthew (our nephews) and Kimberly (our niece). We stayed there through Saturday and had a great visit. We were lucky enough to see Becky Cancelosi while we were there, since she lives so close by.

On the 10th, my manager and coworkers took me out to a very nice lunch. They sure knew how to make my parting from Intel a hard thing to do. I will miss them very much. My last day of work was April 11th. It still doesn't seem real that I don't have a job to go back to. I have worked there for so long that it's hard to believe I'm not a part of it anymore. We went and stayed with my Grandma, Grandpa and cousins on the 12th so we could see Grandma before she left for a trip to San Pedro. We visited, played cards and had a great time as usual. We got to meet two of Caroline's very nice friends. We also got to play croquet with Caroline and George. On the 13th, we went back to Portland to take Grandma to the airport and say goodbye to Rob's parents as they were leaving for New Mexico. We stayed again that night at Scott and Susan's in Tigard.

We got up very early on the 14th and drove to Twin Falls, Idaho where we stayed with my friend from Elementary school, Chrissy. We had a great visit with Chrissy that evening and probably talked her ear off. The next day, per Chrissy's advice, we went to the College of Southern Idaho and took a run on their running path around the campus. Afterwards we went to Shoshone Falls to do some sightseeing. That is a really beautiful place. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Twin Falls.

We made it to Ely on the 15th to visit with my Dad and my sister Elizabeth. We got to meet Liz's boyfriend Virgil and had a generally good time hanging around Ely for a couple of days.

On the 18th, Rob, Liz and I drove to Salt Lake City to visit our brothers and sisters Chris, Kathy, Vic and Steve. We stayed at Kathy's house and had a great time visiting with her and her husband Thad. We really enjoyed their trampoline. We just couldn't get enough of it. We haven't laughed so hard in a long, long time.

Kathy threw a party at her house and Chris, Vic, Steve and their families all came. We got to see all of our nieces and nephews. We even got to see all of our great nieces and nephews that we hadn't met before. We have 6 great nieces and nephews. They are Katelynn, Cate, Tanner, Parker, Brooklin and Max. Both Liz and I got to hold Max for long time. It was so nice. We had a wild, very long game of hot dice with about 15 of us. Foosh! The party was so much fun. It really was great to visit with everyone.

We headed down to Cedar City and had a good time visiting with Deb and her family. We had a great dinner over at David Brown's house and we all got to look on in awe at the bedroom where Della stayed the first few days after she was born!

The next day we toured Zion National Park. We're still scrapping the red mud and dirt off our shoes. We really enjoyed Angel's Landing. So much so, that Robert even collapsed on the ground in fear when he tried to journey out onto the 1500 foot tall wall. Della was braver and ventured on a further 100 feet before realizing that anyone who goes all the way out to the end of this particular trail, is completely insane.

We drove to Vegas that night and had a great time visiting. While we were there, we met up with Della's high school friend Maria and her husband, Sean. We also met up with Della's cousin, Morgan and her husband Jerimiah. Much hot dice was played and everyone had a grand time. While in Vegas we also attended the 50th anniversary of the founding of Henderson, Nevada Grand Chili cookoff and classic car show. Try not to salivate with jealousy. It was a good time on a nice warm, sunny day. My personal favorite wasa little drag racer called 'Mama's Goatee!' It looked fast.

We headed back through Ely and had a good hike up through the middle of the WP written on the hills ide overlooking the town. The WP either stands for the White Pine in White pine County or it stands for Wiggly Puppet, we're not sure which.

We headed out a couple days later and had a dramatic attempted rescue of this huge white dog that looked like a small polar bear. He was lost. He took a bagel from us but wouldn't get in the car. The story has a happy ending though as the owner was called shortly after that.

We drove all the way to Cook Washington because we were far too cheap to spring for a hotel room and because we wanted additional quality time with Grandma and Grandpa. The next day we stopped by Scott and Susan's again and harassed the boys with an all out water fight in the back yard. We made it home that evening and the next day attended a marina send off party. The next evening we had another send off party at Melissa and Jason's. It was very nice of our friends to see us off in such grand fashion. We are going to miss all our friends and neighbors! We hope you all will come visit us soon.

We took off from the marina on May 4th and stayed at Ruston way in Tacoma, hanging off our favorite mooring buoy. It's been such an emotion filled last couple of weeks that we decided we needed a day to sit and catch up on it all. On May 6th, we headed North and are now in Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island visiting our friends Jackie and Jonathan.

Thank you each and every one of you kind folks for letting us visit you. For those of you we missed, we hope to see you soon. We're both very lucky people to have such wonderful friends and family.

Love,

Della and Robert
