![]() | S/V SEAGOON
is a real ocean-going cruising yacht, she is safe and stong, built of steel and
designed for ocean crossings and island cruising. Seagoon will safely get to the next island or port and has survived sailing the waters of the SW Pacific for the last 14 years. |
S/V SEAGOON is a Bruce Roberts Offshore 38 (11.6m) design with a steel hull, a single-masted cutter rig and a 2 cylinder Volvo diesel engine. She sleeps 4 people in comfort with a twin V-berth and 2 single bunks midships. She is built for self-reliance - power, lighting and refrigeration comes from solar panels and a wind generator. She is a real long range sailing boat capable of cruising isolated regions for months at a time without outside support. She is not for yuppies! | ![]() |
![]() | The Galley - the most important room on the boat! We cook on a kerosene stove using whatever fresh fruit and vegetables are available, with plenty of fresh fish and seafood - all organic of course! Can you learn to cook while standing on a rollercoaster, holding on with one hand and chopping carrots with the other?? |
The Saloon - down here we have plenty of books to read, a stereo, laptop computer and all the nav station equipment - 3 GPS's, VHF and HF radios, paper and digital charts etc. However, in the heat of the tropics we don't actually spend much time downstairs, it's much nicer to eat in the cockpit. | ![]() |
