A Tai Chi Chuan course is being organised jointly by the Malta Tai Chi Chuan Society and the Malta China Friendship Society starting Tuesday, 4th September 2001 at the MCFS centre in St. Christopher Street, Valletta. This course is intended to introduce to the Maltese people ways and means to improve its quality of life and further this Chinese cultural treasure. Spokesperson for the MTCCS said that his organisation has been offering Tai Chi courses for these last 12 years. It is ironical that the founder of this organisation received his first Tai Chi training precisely 12 years ago when the MCFS introduced its first Tai Chi course in Malta. MCFS can be considered the pioneer in introducing Tai ChiChuan in Malta. This course will be spanned over a period of 14 weeks during which students will be given, apart from Tai Chi training, basic knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is the basis of Tai Chi and also learn some aspects of Tui Na which is one of the forms of Chinese Massage.
