>launch felucca
Roundtime: 10 seconds
You launch the craft, and with a few thrusts of the punt pole you
are
whisked across the waters to the stone jetty below the sanctuary
situated
within a grove of palm trees.
You secure the painter to one of the moorings-rings and go ashore.
Obvious paths: none.

>exam obelisk
Limestone reliefs boast of many war victories.
The cartouches of a
master rogue and a high priestess are crowned by the sun and flanked by
royal cobras. One relief seems to depict a ferocious earthworm. The
stone needle of the obelisk is topped by a pyramidion covered in
gold.

The priestess kneels before
some gigantic statues of Hermes and Zeus. The gods
beam down upon her, bedecked in wreaths of blue-green agates and
golden laurel leaves.
You also see Zed.
>look zed
Zed kneels beside Tamboura. He has laid aside his weapons and armor.
They are piled at the door of the sanctum.
The young couple are holding hands, and their faces are almost touching
as they whisper their vows solemnly
together.
Tamboura turns toward Zed.
>
Tamboura recites:
"You are my sun, my day is dark without you."
>
Zed turns toward Tamboura.
Zed recites:
>
"You are the nile of my heart, the waters of your love feed my soul."
>
Tamboura recites:
"You are my man, through this world and all the worlds to come."
>
Zed recites:
>
"You are my woman, and I pledge you my love. I swear it to you on the breath
and the blood of Hermes."
>
Tamboura recites:"I take up your pledge and return it to you one hundredfold."
>
Zed recites:"No one can ever come between us. Nothing can ever part us."
>
Tamboura recites:"We are one , for ever."

As they embrace, a sudden warm wind of the lagoon swirles through the
dimly lit halls of the sanctuary and flutteres the torch flames, so that for an
instance the faces of the two lovers blurr before your eyes.
>
The wind passes as swiftly as it has come, but the whisper of it around the
great stone pillars is like a distant touch of the gods.

There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;
no disease that enough love will not heal;
no door that enough love will not open;
no gulf that enough love will not bridge;
no wall that enough love will not throw down;
no sin that enough love will not redeem...
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble;
how hopeless the outlook; how muddled the tangle; how great the mistake.
A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all.
If only you could love enough you would be
the happiest and most powerful being in the world...
