BO AND HOPE (williams) BRADY

Before seeing Bo again after many years, Hope was in love with Bo's older brother Roman, competing with Marlena for his affections. But when it became clear that she would never have Roman she fell for Brady rebel,

One evening, Hope was hanging out at the local burger joint, Shenanigans, when a very cool guy in a leather jacket and sporting a beard and long hair walked in. They flirted and he offered her a ride home on his motorcycle. Doug and Julie were not pleased. Hope later learned that the sexy guy was none other than Bo Brady, an old childhood friend of hers. The sexual tension between the two was palpable. They bantered back and forth and Bo reminded Hope how they used to play doctor as kids. He inquired whether she still had that mole on her. . . "Shut up!" Hope snapped. She tried to act cool and disinterested, but her heart was thumping a mile a minute. And although Bo didn't want to admit it, he was attracted to Hope as well.

Things at home had become unbearable for Hope. She was fighting with Julie all the time. So she figured she would strike out on her own. She packed her bags and rented a room at a flophouse on the riverfront. Doug was frantic to find her and he enlisted Bo and Roman's help. Bo located her just in time to prevent her from being raped by a smarmy street thug. It would be the first of many times Bo would ride to Hope's rescue, her knight in shining armor.

Like all teenage girls, Hope was in love with the idea of love and had visions of white picket fences dancing in her head. Her budding feelings for Bo were so intense they frightened her, so Hope transferred them onto Roman instead. He was married . . . and safe. Bo teased Hope mercilessly about her "crush" on his brother, and Hope dismissed Bo as just a boy, not a man like his brother, and therefore unworthy of her attentions.

Bo and Hope continued to tease and tap-dance and fight their growing feelings for one another, but it was obvious to anyone who could see what was developing between them. They were always finding excuses to spend time together. They shared their first real kiss at the annual Fourth of July picnic. Hope was manning the kissing booth and Bo presented her with 24 tickets and a kiss on the forehead. Not about to be written off as a little kid once again, Hope proved to Bo she was worth the 24 tickets and then some. She grabbed him and gave him a huge kiss on the lips. Bo left the booth with his head spinning, but not before presenting Hope with one extra ticket. "What's this?" she asked. "A tip," Bo replied.

Hope soon got an opportunity to repay Bo for the times he had (and would) saved her from her various scrapes and bungles. She followed him to an abandoned warehouse one night where he was jumped by a street gang known as the Vipers and was beaten and left for dead. Hope managed to drag Bo onto the back of his motorcycle and drive him back to his room where she nursed him back to health with soup and hamburgers and lots of TLC. It was then that she realized she was falling in love with him. Bo being Bo wasn't yet ready to admit it back to her. Hope only pursued Bo with even more determination after that.

Hope asked Bo to escort her to her 18th birthday party. Despite that it meant renting a tux, Bo agreed. When Bo walked into the party and took a look at Hope in her blue satin ballgown, and she caught sight of him in his tuxedo, it was as though there was no one else in the room. They couldn't take their eyes off of each other. The electricity generating between them was enough to power an entire city. As they danced in each others' arms to their song, "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love," it was apparent to everyone that (in Julie's words) "they only had eyes for each other." Bo and Hope had fallen in love.

That same night Bo finally admitted to Hope that he loved her. They melted in each others arms, falling onto the bed and kissing tenderly. "Make love to me," Hope whispered. Bo slowly started to remove her clothes. But before anything could happen, the night of passion was cut short by Doug who was pounding on the door, demanding to see his daughter. When Bo finally let Doug in and he realized that Bo was just about to deflower his little Princess, he collapsed on the steps, clutching his chest in pain. Doug had a heart attack. Hope blamed herself and promised her father as he lay in his hospital bed she would no longer see Bo.

Hope was finding it awfully difficult to keep her promise to Doug and Julie to stay away from Bo. Her heart was breaking--she missed him terribly. To keep his mind off of Hope, Bo kept himself busy helping Roman to clear himself of some phony murder charges. Hope kept finding herself in Bo's path, quite deliberately of course. Bo preferred her to stay away from him; he didn't want her finding herself in the middle of a dangerous situation. That's exactly what she did, however, when she followed Bo to a building that was wired with explosives. Bo had to keep his eye on Hope and therefore wasn't able to protect Roman when the building exploded. Roman was believed to be dead. Hope felt just awful. In fact, Roman was very much alive but he and Bo kept that fact a secret until they could crack the case. But Bo had to find a way to keep Hope out of his business and away from danger. So he broke up with her--cruelly. He told her they had no future together and for her to stay out of his life for good. He didn't love her anymore. And that was that.

Hope was devastated and she found solace in the arms of slimy district attorney, Larry Welch. Larry had his sights set on Hope. She would make a pretty little trophy wife and she was loaded to boot. He proposed marriage. But try as she might, Hope couldn't seem to get her mind off of Bo. When she returned to Salem and found he had been injured in a shootout with Stefano and Andre DiMera, who were responsible for railroading Roman, she rushed to his side. But Bo didn't want to see her. His legs were paralyzed and he didn't want for Hope to see him like that. He instructed his friend, Diane, to turn her away. Diane, who had a thing for Bo, told Hope that the only person Bo was asking for was hs ex-girlfriend, Megan. Devastated, Hope went back to Larry and immediately accepted his marriage proposal.

When Bo realized Hope was just hours away from Marrying Lary he flipped out. he had to stop this wedding. He even stole a police motorcycle so he could make it there in time. Meanwhile, Hope was in the bride's room crying and looking at her reflection in the mirror, trying to convince herself that she was doing the right thing. Just then Bo burst in and announced he was taking her away. Too stubborn and proud to listen, Hope insisted he leave. "No," Bo said, "You're coming with me." The bride walked down the aisle as scheduled and exchanged vows with Larry. But when he lifted the veil, he didn't find Hope underneath, but rather Bo's P.I. friend, Howie Hofstedder, puffing away on a cigar! Larry punched Howie and the church erupted in chaos.

Bo had dragged her onto the back of his stolen motorcycle, still dressed in her wedding gown, and had whisked her away from almost making the biggest mistake of her life. When they were far enough away from the church, Bo pulled the bike over and Hope immediately jumped off and took off running. Bo caught up with her and made her listen as he explained why he had been putting her off for so long. She tried to resist, but when he kissed her, she couldn't fight him off any longer. Bo and Hope went to her Aunt Maggie's farm and hid out in the barn where they could be alone and talk. They professed their love for each other and almost made love for the first time in the hay, but Hope was kidnapped by some thugs of Larry's and forced to write Bo a letter declaring that she hated him and never wanted to see him again. To prove they meant business, the next day Hope was given a glimpse of a badly beaten Bo being carted off to the hospital. Hope was then forced to visit Bo in his hospital room and confirm what she had written in her note. "I hate you!" she shouted through her tears. But she couldn't look at him. It was too painful. She fled from the room with Bo limping after her begging her not to go.

The second wedding to Larry went off without a hitch, although the bride was miserable the entire day and drowned her sorrows in one glass of champagne after the next. Now that Hope realized what a snake Larry really was and that he had blackmailed her into becoming his wife, she wasn't about to let him within ten feet of her. Their marriage remained unconsummated and Hope set up camp in the guest bedroom, although that didn't stop Larry from trying to get his paws on her. She was always beating him off. And as if it weren't difficult enough having to be in a forced and loveless marriage, Hope had to further contend with the reality that Bo was lost to her forever. He was spending more and more time with his old girlfriend, Megan, and it hurt Hope terribly every time she saw them together.

It all came to a head, however, when Hope was forced to fake her own pregnancy to keep Larry out of her bed. She doctored her own medical records to make it appear that she was already pregnant and informed Larry that she was carrying Bo's child! The pressure was too much for poor Hope, however, and she finally cracked and confessed everything to her grandmother. Mrs. Horton later arranged for Bo and Hope to meet secretly in the tunnels below Doug's Place. There, Hope explained everything to Bo. He was ecstatic and the lovebirds were reunited. Hope had to stay married to Larry until they could figure out who was really behind the forced marriage.

In the meantime, Bo went to work for Megan's father, Max, a wealthy banker and art investor. Although it was all part of an undercover case, Hope was jealous of all the time Bo was spending in Megan's company. She wanted to scratch her eyes out. It was painful for Bo and Hope to be separated, but Mrs. Horton arranged for them to share a few stolen moments in secret whenever they could. Bo's case took him to New Orleans, where Max and Megan were hosting an art exhibit at the World's Fair. Larry went along, too, on the pretense of doing some political networking. Although Bo made Hope promise she would stay in Salem, she showed up in the Big Easy anyway to surprise him. He was so happy to see her he couldn't even be mad at her. He later enlisted her help in stealing a prism from a sculpture on display in the exhibit. To celebrate their success, Bo arranged for he and Hope to spend several languid days together at an old plantation outside the city called Oak Alley. There, Bo and Hope pledged their love to each other for all eternity and finally made love for the first time. It was a magical two days. Unfortunately, it was cut short by the arrival of Howie with the news that the prism was missing. Bo had to go back undercover and Hope had to resume her charade as Larry Welch's happy wife. Bo and Hope were not back in Salem long before they were off on another adventure. While Bo was preparing to fill in for Roman on a journey to the tropics in search of Stefano DiMera, Hope's phony pregnancy was revealed. One of Larry's thugs had discovered the pillow under her dress. And since she wasn't pregnant, he figured that left him free to have his way with her. He pushed her down on the sofa and was about to rape her when Larry burst in and threw him off of her. The thug informed Larry that Hope had been lying to him all along, that she wasn't really pregnant. Larry was livid. Alone in the townhouse, the couple exploded into an argument that ended with Larry chasing Hope up the stairs. She turned around and with all of her might, belted him across the face. He went tumbling to the bottom of the staircase where he lay unconscious. Fearing she had killed him, Hope panicked and took off in search of Bo. His plane, a charter flight carrying several other Salemites, was taxiing toward takeoff when Hope came tearing down the runway. The plane stopped to let her on board and Hope collapsed in Bo's arms, relieved to be free of Larry at last but terrified at what it might mean if she had killed him.

As it turned out, Hope had bigger things to worry about. The plane she was aboard crashed on a deserted island, leaving the survivors wondering if they would ever be rescued. Hope had a close call when she had an allergic reaction to a sting on the foot from a sting ray. She had a terrible fever and was hallucinating through the night, but Bo stayed by her side and by morning she was on her way to recovering.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Stefano was on the island searching for the second of the three prisms, and Roman was hot on his trail. Hope was alone on the beach when she spotted Stefano's yacht not far off shore. Not knowing who it belonged to, she started jumping up and down excitedly. While she had her back turned, two of Stefano's female goons sneaked up on her and grabbed her, taking her prisoner and hauling her off to the yacht. When Bo realized what had happened, he went out to the boat to rescue Hope. As the twosome were coming back to shore in a raft, they could see Stefano and Roman fighting on a clifftop. Bo watched as his brother fell several hundred feet to the wet sand below. He cradled his brother in his arms as he took his last breaths. After Roman died, Bo grew angry and distant. Hope was in great pain for him and it was hurting her that he shut her out. They group was rescued and when they returned to Salem, Hope announced to the waiting reporters that she was divorcing Larry to marry Bo. Bo had different ideas, however. Roman's death had altered his perspective. He started pushing Hope away. Eventually she realized that it was because he blamed her for Roman's death. If he hadn't been rescuing her, he could have helped Roman. Although it was painful for her, Hope abided Bo's wishes. She wasn't about to beg for his affections if he couldn't give them willingly. So she walked out of his life.

Hope suddenly found herself at a crossroads. Without Bo, it seemed that she was just wandering aimlessly through life, with no real direction or purpose. When Bo was arrested for starting a fist fight with a customer at his parents' fish market, Hope went down to the police station to check on him. She inadvertantly found herself in a line of applicants to the Salem Police Academy. When Abe Carver escorted Bo past and he saw the mistake she had made, he couldn't contain his laughter. The idea of Hope in the police academy? She might break a nail or mess up her hair! Bo's teasing only encouraged Hope to show him how wrong he was. On impulse and not about to swallow her pride, Hope announced she was submitting her application to the academy.

Christmas soon rolled around and Bo came to the Horton party to present Hope with a gift: A music box that played their song. Things seemed to be looking up between them but then Bo announced in front of everyone that the best gift Hope could give him would be to give up the police academy nonsense. And the fight was back on. Later in the week, Hope decided to try to make up with Bo and she went to his apartment with his Christmas gift in hand. She was shocked to find him there with her best friend, Melissa, in what appeared to a be a compromising position. Hope thrust the gift across the room, shattering it into dozens of pieces and ran out in tears. Melissa later came to Hope, begging her forgiveness. And although Hope believed her friend when she told her nothing had happened between her and Bo, Hope was still hurt that it seemed that Bo still would rather spend his time with anyone but her.

In an effort to keep her mind off of Bo,again, Hope threw herself head first into her studies. Although she was having no trouble with the books, Hope found herself struggling with some of the physical tests that were part of her training, and so she took up her old childhood sport of ice skating to help her get into shape. She was at the academy all day and skating all evening, and by the time her head hit the pillow every night, she was so exhausted she didn't have time to wallow in her sadness about Bo. Bo, meanwhile, was starting to come out of the fog he had been in since Roman's death. He was back working on the prism case and using his connection to Megan to get more information. When Megan figured out that Bo was still hung up on Hope, she became obsessed with her. She started tracking her every move and soon learned that Hope went to the local health club every evening after a couple of hours at the ice rink in order to unwind in the hot tub. Megan hatched a plot to have Hope electrocuted in the hot tub! Unfortunately, it backfired on her when she and Larry got into an argument at the club and she fell and hit her head, killing herself instantly. Larry slipped her lifeless body in the hot tub and left, leaving Hope to find her. Hope was immediately fingered as the prime suspect, since she was at the scene and she and Megan were such bitter enemies. When Bo heard about Hope's close call, he rushed to her side. She was in shock as he held her in his arms, rocking her back and forth and comforting her.

When Hope learned that Bo was still working on the prism case, she wanted in. Bo, as usual, wanted her to stay out of it. But Hope does what Hope wants, so when she overheard that the third and final prism was going to be arriving in Salem with a Russian ice skating troupe, she made sure she got herself a job as a security guard working the door to the arena where the skaters would be performing. Hope's presence there allowed Bo to get access to the prism, but he lost it when one of Stefano's goons started chasing him around the arena. Later, after everyone had gone home, Hope found herself locked in the arena for the night. Bored, she strapped on a pair of skates and hit the ice. In her mind, she fantasized that she was gliding and twirling and leaping across the ice in a private show just for Bo. As she came out of her fantasy, she was surprised to find Bo seated in the third row watching her and clapping. As she skated to him, she tripped over something in the ice. The prism! They chipped it out of the ice and congratulated themselves on a job well done.

The prism found its way into a headdress of one of the costumes for the ice show, so Hope had to pose as one of the skaters in order to retrieve it and found herself skating in the show. She was quite a hit, considering she didn't know any of the routines! Her flubs and falls were intrepreted by the audience as comic relief. As the curtain came down, however, Stefano and his goons descended on her and wrested the prism away from her. It was later recovered and Bo and Hope headed back to his apartment to unwind. Bo had had a bit too much to drink at their celebratory dinner and Hope had just deposited him on the bed when two of Stefano's goons showed up demanding the prism. Hope told them they didn't have it. They were about to shoot Bo when Hope begged them to spare his life. As it turned out, Bo wasn't as drunk as he appeared to be. While he fought with the male thug, Hope and the female struggled over the gun. In the scuffle it went off, seriously wounding Hope in the abdomen.

Hope's condition was critical and Dr. Neil Curtis advised Bo that if Hope was going to pull through, she needed a positive, concrete goal to focus on. Bo knew exactly what to do. He disappeared briefly and came back with a diamond engagement ring in hand. Although she was groggy and disoriented, when Bo asked her to be his wife, Hope happily accepted.

A criminal by the name of The Dragon was plotting to kill all the aristocrats in line to the British throne. Hope happened to spot him in the act of killing a crown prince and so she suddenly had a price on her head. Bo was determined to solve the case before they married. He wanted Hope to stay put in Salem while he went to England in search of The Dragon, but Hope accused him of using the case as an excuse to avoid commitment. Bo relented and allowed her to tag along. He was traveling under the guise of a rock singer and Hope was to be his roadie. The first time Hope heard Bo sing, she wasn't sure what to expect, but he was a huge hit and she quickly became his biggest fan. While setting up for a concert in London's Covent Gardens, The Dragon got a fix on Hope. She took off running through the streets of London, but The Dragon caught her and took her back to his country estate. Hope managed to escape by diving into the icy moat surrounding the castle and letting him think she had drowned. Later, she and Bo foiled The Dragon's plan to assassinate several royals at a formal ball. As a reward, they were granted a lavish wedding in a charming country church outside of London, all expenses paid. All of Salem was flown in for the occasion. Hope was stunning in her handmade gown and as she beamed at Bo, she was only that much more beautiful when the archbishop pronounced them husband and wife.

A swarthy man with a patch over his eye showed up in Salem and immediately set to work tormenting Bo and Hope. Patch Johnson had known Bo from his days in the Merchant Marines and he knew something about Bo that Bo definitely didn't want Hope to find out. Hope never could stand it when someone had a secret and she wasn't let in on it. She was fascinated with Patch and yet repulsed by him at the same time. She just wanted to know what Bo was keeping from her. Tension developed between Bo and Hope as Hope kept snooping around against Bo's wishes. Meanwhile, Bo was working on drug case that took him to New York. Feeling badly that she was stirring up trouble needlessly, Hope joined him there and the newlyweds turned the trip into a mini-honeymoon.

When they returned to town, Bo's drug case exploded. Hope was on to a tip that there was corruption in the police department. They made the grave mistake of telling Police Chief Cates--he was at the root of it all. One night on the pier, Hope’s partner was shot, and as she lay dying in Hope's arms, she whispered to her that Cates had been the one who had pulled the trigger. Hope put it together that he was on the take and she raced to tell Bo. The two of them got in the car and sped out of town with Cates on their tail. He ran their car off the road and managed to round up Bo, but Hope had tumbled to the bottom of a ravine. When he went back to find her, she was gone.

When Bo was told that he biological father was the evil, corrupt Vitor Kiriakis it of course brought forth a whole new world of trouble for the pair.

It was not all so magical when they returned to Salem, however. Bo wanted to move right back into the Kiriakis mansion. Hope positively refused. This time, she had divorce papers drawn up, which Bo refused to sign. In the meantime, Hope was keeping herself busy helping John Black, who everyone had learned was really Roman Brady, in trying to find Marlena who had been abducted by an old adversary. One of their leads took them to Stockholm. When Bo found out Hope was headed there and into a load of danger, he tried to stop her. She informed him he had no business sticking his nose in her affairs; they were through. Bo realized he was about to lose Hope for good unless he came clean. He informed her that the reason he was cozying up to Kiriakis and pretending to enjoy being his son was because he was trying to get the goods on him so he could send him away for good. This shed a whole new light on things. Now it all made sense, and this was the Bo who Hope knew and loved. They were back together in private but maintained the facade of the Battling Bradys for everyone else. When Hope returned from Stockholm, she explained to her grandmother the situation with Bo and lamented how they had to pretend to hate each other. Not to mention that it was so difficult to find any stolen moments to spend together. As always, Alice was happy to arrange a few secret rendezvous for her favorite granddaughter and her husband. One night, while Bo and Hope were spending a few hours together in the loft, Bo confessed to Hope in frustration how tired he was of pretending to hate his real family. He just wanted this thing with Kiriakis to be over so he and Hope could concentrate on their own lives and start a family of their own together. "We're going to," Hope told him with a smile. Bo could hardly believe his ears! Hope was pregnant again? So soon? He picked her up and swung her around and promised her that this time would be different. She and the baby were going to be perfect. When Kiriakis learned that Bo was double-crossing him, Bo had to backtrack and start at square one to earn back his trust. And that meant moving back to the mansion despite that Hope wanted to live in the loft. She agreed nonetheless, and even went along with Bo's plan to change their last name to Kiriakis to please Victor. When the holidays rolled around, however, Bo tried to be the dutiful son and share them with Victor, but he ended up at the Bradys. And Hope was delighted. After dinner at the Bradys, she and Bo went to the annual tree-trimming at her grandparents' house and not only did they hang their own ornaments on the tree, but they hung a third one for their new baby-to-be as well.

Although Hope was excited about being a mother she was concerned The only thing that bothered her was the prospect of giving birth to their child and having to bring him home to raise in the Kiriakis mansion. It was like a mausoleum to her. As it turned out, that never became an issue. Victor had realized that no matter how hard he tried to make Bo his own, he couldn't do it. Bo was a Brady. He always had been and always woudl be. Victor had phony papers drawn up to "prove" he couldn't possibly be Bo's father. Bo and Hope didn't waste any time moving out of the mansion and into Kimberly's old apartment.

On April 7, 1987, Shawn-Douglas Brady was welcomed into the world without a hitch . . .other than Bo's passing out in the delivery room. Now with a new baby in their lives, it occurred to Bo and Hope that they needed to make some plans. While walking along the pier one afternoon, Bo saw a boat for sale and it dawned on him all at once what he needed to do. Bo bnought a boat and the threesome sailed off into the sunset.

As we all know they weren't gone forever. One of the memorable Days stories ever was the Cruise of Deception.

Taking place aboard the Loretta, an ocean liner commandeered by vengeful Ernesto, and Ernesto's island located somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea. His main purpose in putting together the cruise was to exact revenge on all of his supposed enemies at once. Invited on the cruise were Isabella Toscano, Roman Brady/John Black, Bo Brady, Hope Brady, Jack Deveraux, Jennifer Horton, Julie Williams, and Ernesto's #1 enemy Victor Kiriakis, Ernesto used his love of magic tricks to deceive and terrorize his passengers.

One of the two most emotional storyline for me was the climax of this one. I doubt there a Days of Our Lives fan with dry eye....

As Bo and Roman held Ernesto at gun point he takes out a remote control. A grinning Ernesto pushes a button, a curtain rises, and everyone is shocked to see what Ernesto had been hiding: Hope handcuffed to a cage suspended over a vat of acid! He pushes another button that lowers the cage slightly. He tells everyone that Julie could have been in the cage with Hope, too, but Hans brings her in. She yells out for Hope when she sees her. Ernesto demands that Roman and Bo lower their guns or he'll drop Hope into the vat.

Bo begins to plead with Ernesto to let Hope go, but Ernesto insists on hurting his enemies by getting to their loved ones. He did that to Victor by killing Loretta, and he plans to do that to his second mortal enemy, Bo, by taking away Hope. Bo begs Ernesto to kill him and let Hope go, but Toscano says if Hope dies, it will be Bo's fault. Roman slowly goes over to Isabella and whispers something to her. Isabella goes up to Ernesto and asks him to let Hope go. Isabella tells Ernesto that he doesn't have to use Hope as a hostage. She begs him to let her go so that the two of them could go off and forget about everything that happened. She tells him he'll always be her father, which upsets Victor. When Ernesto doesn't listen, Isabella takes his hand which is holding the cage remote while Roman is hiding behind a pillar. Ernesto tells Isabella to get back just as Roman is about to hit Ernesto with the crowbar. Erniesto sees this and lowers the cage even further down. Ernesto threatens the next time he will let her fall down into the vat of acid. Roman throws the crowbar into the vat and moves away. Ernesto looks at Isabella and says, "Congratulations. Any affection I may have still had for you is now dead. You're going to regret it. So will you all." Ernesto goes up a metal staircase that leads to the cage and tells everyone they are his captive audience, as they will witness the best exit of Ernesto career--and Hope will be his assistant. Bo again pleads with him to let her go, but Ernesto insists nothing will stop him from having his revenge. Ernesto decides to give Bo one last chance to save Hope. He says he liked Bo's improv at the end of Fatal Passion, (a play Ernesto has his guests perform prior) so he wants Bo to play out a farewell balcony scene with Hope. If everyone is moved, then he'll let Hope go. Ernesto insists for Bo to say good-bye to Hope, but all he cares about is getting her out of this. Hope asks Bo to just listen to her. She gives a very emotionally moving speech to Bo about their love....

here come the tears

Hope: "Bo, just listen to me, okay. I want you to...I want you to tell Shawn-Douglas..." Bo: "It's okay, Fancy Face, I'm listening." Hope: "I want you to tell Shawn-Douglas that his mommy loves him." Bo: "Okay. I'll tell our little sailor you love him." Hope: "You know how much you mean to me? How much you both mean to me?" Bo: "Yeah, Fancy Face. I know." Hope: "I've never really told you...(sobs) Oh, God. I've never really told you how happy you've made me. God you have, Bo. I know the last few months...I know they haven't been great, but I don't want you to ever think even for a second that I was ever disappointed because I wasn't. Oh, Bo, I love you. Loving you was the greatest joy of my life. The greatest joy, Bo." Bo: "You are my life, Fancy Face." Hope: "Bo...." Bo proclaims his love for her, too, but gets frustrated with Ernesto. He promises Hope this isn't the end, but Ernesto insists it is. He says Bo didn't do good enough of a job at saying good-bye. Ernesto says all of this began before the cruise, before everyone knew about him, before Bo knew he would be working for him. Ernesto asks everyone if they remember the white bird from the magic show on board the Loretta during the masquerade ball. I think it's only fitting we end with the sign of death, he says. Ernesto raises his arms and in a cloud of smoke, he disappears from the staircase and a black crow appears.

Ernesto is now in the cage with Hope. He says that years from now he'll reflect on the cruise and the island, he'll try to be kind. He bids everyone an, Adieu Just then, the cage starts to shake violently and sparks fly out from it. Hope yells for Bo while Ernesto yells for Hans to stop the trick.

Obviously something was going wrong. Bo ran to the staircase to get Hope but Roman kept him back because the sparks were too dangerous. The cage continued to shake hard and the trapped duo continued to scream for their lives. All of a sudden, their screams cease and...BOOM!

A blinding light hits Bo. He looks up and is shocked to see the cage has exploded. When the smoke cleared, parts of the broken cage had fallen into the vat of acid and were on fire. Bo was also shocked to see that his wife was no longer there. Hope and Ernesto were gone...

After everyone was rescued from the island a broken hearted Bo tried to rebuild his life. In time he did just that. He met and fell in love with Billie Reed. The couple were married and life was wonderful..... but not for long....

iN late 1994, John Black received a mysterious puzzle from Stefano. When he assembled the puzzle it showed a picture of an old plantation which he somehow recognized. After learning that the place was Maison Blanche, John went to New Orleans to visit it. When he arrived he was taken prisoner by Stefano and his henchwoman Celeste. Stefano chained John up in the basement and planned to re-brainwash him. Celeste, who liked John, told him that everything he needed to save himself was in his cell. After searching the cell, John found a block that had Johnny Black, 1984 inscribed on it. Behind the block John found a necklace with a crucifix and a prayer on a piece of paper. Using a recording of John's voice, Stefano lured Marlena to New Orleans as well. When she arrived, Celeste knocked her out with ether and locked her up with John.

Stefano was planning on erasing John's memory, so Marlena tried to prevent him from doing it with a strip show. Stefano also forced Marlena to call Roman and tell him that she was on vacation with John Black. Meanwhile, Celeste became jealous of Marlena because she knew that Stefano was in love with her. Later that year, Kristen, Tony, Peter, Jen, Bo, and Billie all came to Maison Blanche for a charity event Kristen held. While there, Jen and Peter made love. Also, Billie saw a woman who looked like Bo's dead wife Hope, but nobody would believe her. Hope was at Maison Blanche, but she was called Gina by Stefano and Celeste. Roman also showed up, but to arrest Peter Blake for trafficking drugs in one of his clubs. A jealous Celeste leaked gas into the cell where John and Marlena were being held and started a fire. Roman managed to rescue them. John came out and shocked both Kristen and Tony, who were horrified to see John in shackles. Kristen looked up and screamed when she spotted her dead father, Stefano. Tony ran back into the house to try and retrieve his father's computer, which contained a file on John's past. Maison Blanche burst into flames. Tony got the computer, but went blind in the process. Stefano slipped away with Hope, but John managed to catch up with Stefano and rescued Hope. Bo and Billie were shocked when they saw Hope, but Hope claimed to be a woman named Gina.

Hope returned to Salem as Gina and began to have flashbacks about being Hope. Gina had DNA tests run to determine if she was Hope, but they were inconclusive. All of Hope's dental and fingerprints were lost do to a computer problem, so there was no concrete way to prove that Gina was Hope. Gina felt an urge to join the police force and her psychological profile matched Hope's. Bo eventually believed that Gina was Hope, but Billie wasn't convinced. Billie soon learned that Celeste was implanting memories into Gina that only Hope could know. Billie even found a book with Hope's life in it. When Billie tried to show it to Bo, Bo wouldn't listen. Billie dropped the book outside the Horton Cabin, where Bo and Hope were, and she prepared to leave Salem. Hope found the book and eventually told Bo that she was not Hope.

Bo went after Billie and the two attempted to marry on New Years day of 1995, but the "Desecrater" struck and a chandelier almost killed Bo and Billie. Bo and Billie attempted to give their wedding another shot, but they were crushed when they learned that they could not marry if there was any chance that Gina was Hope. In order to help them, Gina signed a paper declaring that Hope was dead. Bo and Billie finally were married. However, Alice Horton still believed that Gina was Hope and she gave her a puzzle box which only Tom Horton and Hope could open. Gina and Bo went to New Orleans to ask about Gina's past and they learned that the man who brought Gina to the hospital, Bobby Lee Couper, stole one of her belongings. The belonging was a bracelet that Bo gave to Hope which had a special inscription on it from Bo to Hope. Gina eventually opened the puzzlebox and inside was a sealed letter that Hope wrote to Bo on the night before their wedding. Bo opened the sealed letter and began reading it, but Gina ended up finishing the letter along with Bo. Bo compared the finger prints on the letter to Gina's and they matched, Gina was Hope.

Even though she was proven to be Hope, Bo told Billie that he still planned to marry her again. Hope eventually regained all her memories while at the Salem PD's firing range. Hope rushed to Bo's boat to tell him that she remembered everything, but instead of being overjoyed, Bo asked Hope for a divorce. Hope was shattered, but she agreed to give Bo his divorce. Bo and Hope went to Santa Rosa to get a divorce and Billie soon followed them there. Bo and Hope filed for a divorce, but they learned that it would be some months before it became final. They all returned to Salem and Billie realized that Bo had not given his marriage to Hope a fare shot, so she left Salem so the two could try and work things out.

Hope got an undercover assignment posing as a bartender at the Blue Moon. Hope was attempting to uncover Jude StClair's illegal drug rink and she ended up getting involved in his late night exotic dance shows. Jude asked Hope to strip for some customers and she did so only so she didn't blow her cover. As she was about to go all the way, Bo burst in and busted Jude.

Hope went to Aremid in late 1996 for her cousin Jen Devereaux's wedding to Peter Blake. While there, Hope was confronted by Jude. Jude became violent with her when she rejected his advances and she ended up putting out his eye. Bo and Hope soon became lovers again and were engaged to be married. Hope returned to her job as a police officer and Bo gave her a silly case in order to keep her out of harms way. Hope was assigned to investigate a guy name Bennie who continued to call the police station because he heard aliens plotting to takeover Salem on his wireless radio. Hope started to believe that Benny was actually hearing conversation of Stefano's, but she didn't come forward right away because she was afraid of being laughed at if she was wrong. Eventually Hope told Bo the truth, but it was almost too late. Stefano had attempted to kidnap Marlena Evans and Rachel Blake. Bo promptly suspended Hope from the force for 6 months. This caused a problem between the two, but they worked things out.

Hope and Bo eventually moved into the Fancyface together and became engaged, but Bo knew that Hope longed for a house. Unfortunately, Bo couldn't afford a house on a cop's salary. However, Hope became a model at Titan and suddenly found herself with more money than she knew what to do with. Hope went to the Cheating Heart and was saved from a violent patron by Franco Kelly. Bo was very suspicious of Franco and thought he had ulterior motives. When Shawn and Shawn D. went fishing, Shawn fell in and Franco saved him. Shawn was so grateful that he gave Franco the spare room in their house to stay in. Everyone seemed to love Franco, and he began working with Hope as a model for Bella Magazine. Bo ran across a girl named Jill Stevens on the pier, and she had been badly beaten. Jill described the man to Bo and he becomes convinced that Franco was the man who beat her. Bo and Hope both end up investigating Franco, who is acting suspicious, but it turned out that Franco was planning an engagement party for them. Hope felt like a fool, but Bo still refused to trust Franco.

Franco and Hope went to Santa Rosa for a modeling job. Franco managed to sabotage the pluming in his room, so he was forced to share "The Room of Eternal Love" with Hope. Bo came to Santa Rosa to surprise Hope, but instead he found Franco and Hope in bed together. Later he learned that it was all very innocent. However, Bo found a wrench in Franco's room and suspects it was more than innocent. Jill continues to be beat up and the man she described to Bo fits Franco's description, but Jill claimed the man who was attacking her has very blue eyes.

Billie returned home in the fall of 1996 and moved into the Kirkiais Mansion. Billie began to date Franco, which upset Bo. Bo insisted Franco is dangerous, but Hope accused him of being jealous. When the four go out on a double date to Smith Island, a friend of Franco's was found dead by Billie. Bo was positive that Franco was guilty. Franco attempted to frame the dead man for beating Jill by putting blue contacts in the body while it is at the morgue, but Bo learned the man was in prison when Jill was beaten the first few times. Hope becomes fed up with Bo's obsession with Franco and claimed he was using it to avoid his feelings for Billie. Hope told Bo that she couldn't marry him if he still had feelings for Billie.

Bo and Hope were supposed to marry in November of 96, but other people had other plans for them. Billie, depressed about the wedding, went to Smith Island. Jill Stevens came to see Bo and she had been badly beaten again. She told Bo that the man who beat her was heading out to Smith Island. Bo knew Billie was out there, so he went to the island on the night before his wedding to Hope. Franco was out there waiting and managed to let Bo's boat loose. Franco took the last ferry back to the mainland and left Bo and Billie stranded on the island. Bo attempted to swim to the mainland, but he ended up passing out in the cold water. Billie rescued him and brought him back to the cabin. Billie stripped Bo of his clothes and used her own body heat to warm him. The next morning, Hope asked Franco to take her out to Smith Island and found Bo and Billie asleep in front of a fire. Hope returned to Salem and told everyone that the wedding was off. Bo blamed Franco, but Hope refused to believe him. Jill was beaten up once again and this time she fingered Franco. Bo arrested Franco and brought him in, but Jill had vanished. Without a witness, Bo had no way of holding Franco. Later, Jill was brought into the ER as a Jane Doe. She had been beaten badly and was unconscious. Billie saw Jill and took pitty and visited her often. Eventually, Billie learned that the Jane Doe is the woman Bo was looking for. Billie considered not telling Bo about her, but in the end she told him. After she recovered, Jill told Bo she's ready to ID her attacker. Bo brought Franco in, but Jill claimed her attacker wasn't in the lineup. Later, Franco visited Jill and paid her a huge some of money to leave town. Hope and Franco went back to Santa Rosa to work on another modeling assignment. In Santa Rosa, Franco told Hope that he loved her and would wait till she was free to love him. Hope returned to Salem after she learned that Bo had gambled away the FancyFace. Hope and Shawn D. moved in with Alice shortly after. Later, the FancyFace was burned to nothing in a fire, preventing Bo from trying to buy the boat back. At the Horton House, Hope found a joint in Shawn D's backpack and vowed to rid the streets and schools of drugs. Hope pressured Franco into trying to help her and they checked out a place the could score some drugs at, J.L. King's club, the Snake Pit. When Shawn D. walked in on a drug deal at school, he was shot by the dealer. Shawn D. was rushed to the hospital and was okay. J.L. King became worried about Bo's feelings for Hope and surprised him with an engagement ring that he was to give Billie. Bo had no choice but to propose to Billie, who accepted. Hope was angry with Bo, who wouldn't do anything about the drug problem, so she set out to bring down the drug ring herself. Hope learned about a drug shipment and tried to bust it.

Unfortunately, the bust failed and the shipment was called off, which ruined Bo's one chance to nail King. Hope further became a problem when she saw Billie with Max, who was a known drug dealer. Hope suspected that Billie was back on drugs. While at the Horton house, Billie dropped some drugs that Max had given her at the Snake Pit. Later, a cop came over to question Shawn D. about his shooting. The cop found the pills and thought they were Shawn D's, but Billie interjected and said they were hers. Billie was arrested and while in jail she was stabbed by someone working for King. J.L. King warned Bo that if he betrayed him, Hope and Billie would both die. Hope and Franco were sent to Rome on another modeling shoot. Both Hope and Franco were not aware that Bo and Billie were in Rome as well. J.L. King and Max came to Rome and decided to surprise Bo and Billie by arranging a wedding for them. Upon learning that Hope was also in Rome, J.L. King arranged for Hope and Franco to act as Bo and Billie's witnesses. Bo and Billie were married. Hope returned to Salem and Abe told her that Bo was on an undercover case with Billie. Hope was overjoyed and jumped on a plane to Rome. Meanwhile, Billie told Bo she wasn't going back to Salem with him. Billie begged him to make love to her one last time. As they kissed, Hope showed up and secretly saw them together. Hope thought that she had lost Bo and left, unaware that it never went beyond that kiss. Upon returning to Salem, Bo went to Hope and told her everything. Hope gave him the cold shoulder, which confused him. Bo eventually returned to Rome.

In the fall of 97, John, Hope, Stefano, and Kristen all traveled to a jungle compound where they were introduced to Dr. Rolfe, the man working on the cure for Roman. Dr. Rolfe recognized Hope, but Stefano managed to warn him not to say anything to Hope. Hope ended up breaking into a storage room, which infuriated him because there were things, including a table, in that room that could jog her memory from the missing four years of her life. Stefano promptly locked the room up with a high tech lock. When Dr. Rolfe finally finished the cure, the vial containing the cure was dropped and it was lost. Dr. Rolfe and Stefano tell John and Hope that the only way to make another cure is for someone to brave the jungle and the natives and retrieve a special orchid. John and Hope volunteer to find the orchid. Hope and John found the orchid and John put it in his backpack, but a native knocked John off a cliff and Hope, Kristen, and Stefano thought he was killed. John's backpack was recovered, but the orchid was missing. Hope managed to find some of the orchid's seeds and Rolfe made a cure using them. As they were about to return to Salem, John showed up alive, but was poisoned by a native's dart. John was cured and they all flew back to Salem. On the way back, their plane crashed in the Bermuda triangle, but they managed to return to Salem with the cure. In December of 97, Max and J.L. King were brought back to the US to stand trial. The police force tried to turn Max against King in order for a reduced sentence, but he refused. When Hope came into the station, Max decided to get back at Billie by ruining her reputation. Max told Hope that Billie was a junkie again. Hope confronted Bo with what Max had told her and Bo admitted that Billie was on drugs, which is why he stayed in Rome with her. Hope thought that perhaps there was a chance for them after all. Bo realized that Hope was never in love with Franco, and he told Billie that he could no longer deny his love for Hope and that it was over between them. A New Years eve party was thrown at the Penthouse Grill and Billie fainted at the party, just when Bo and Hope were about to profess their love to one another. Bo came running to Billie, which gave her an idea. Billie cooked up a scheme to keep Bo by her side by pretending that Max was going to sell a newspaper the story about her drug addiction. Bo once again races to her side and convinces the newspaper not to print the story. Meanwhile, Hope talked to Max and learned that he spoke to no body. Hope confronted Billie and Billie told Hope that she and Bo were lovers in Rome. Hope didn't believe her and left. Billie had another dizzy spell and fainted. Franco and Sami found her passed out on the floor and took her to the hospital. Hope just happened to be at the hospital when she was brought in and she overheard Mike tell Billie that she was pregnant. Hope went home in tears. Bo decided to tell Hope the truth about what happened in Rome, but Hope already knew and told Bo that Billie was pregnant, which meant they were through. Bo went to see Billie, who confirmed Hope's story. Bo told Billie that he would be there for her and the baby. Bo went to the Brady Pub to see Hope and he told her he loved her. Hope said it didn't matter now that Billie was carrying his baby. Unaware that Billie was also there, Bo admitted that he wished Billie wasn't pregnant. Billie, sobbing, went home. The following day, Hope went to Titan and overheard a call to the front receptionist from Billie, who wanted a large amount of cash delivered to her house. Hope went to the Kiriakis mansion and found Billie about to leave town. Hope called Bo, who came over and tried to convince Billie not to leave. As they argued at the top of the steps, Billie almost fell down, but Bo caught her in time. Billie realized that Bo did care about her and the baby after all, so she agreed to stay in Salem.

After Stefano was hospitalized when he had a heart attack at Kristen DiMera's funeral, Hope decided to use Stefano's stay in the hospital to search out what happened to her during the four missing years of her life. Bo convinced Hope to let him help her and they broke into Jonsey's townhouse. There, Hope saw a picture of a painting which she recognized. Bo and Hope had to split when Bart, Stefano's henchman, showed up.

Hope confronted Stefano about her past and Stefano told her the same old story, he found her in New Orleans and cared for her for four years while she underwent painful surgeries. Hope didn't believe Stefano and went to Celeste. Celeste told Hope she couldn't help her because she was only with Hope a few weeks before John rescued her. After Hope left, Celeste sent her a box of possessions Hope had while at Maison Blanche. Later, Stefano visited Celeste and ordered her to tell Hope that she was with her for four years at Maison Blanche. Celeste went to Hope and told her this and she said she lied before because she didn't want Hope to remember that she underwent many surgeries over the four years and they were very painful. Celeste also tried to retrieve the package she sent Hope, but Hope opened it in front of Celeste. Inside were a lipstick container, a silver comb, and a silver compact with a G on it. Hope asked Celeste why she would have these things if her face was scarred for four years. Celeste admitted she lied about being with her because Stefano forced her to. Celeste also suggested that Hope drop her search because Stefano would be furious if he learned she was searching for her past. Hope went to Titan to pick up a pay check and saw Billie about to pour herself an alcoholic drink. Hope reminded Billie that she was pregnant. Hope and Billie got into a huge argument and Hope ended up quitting her job at Titan. Later, Hope told Bo about Billie's drinking. Billie realized this was a perfect way to keep Bo with her and she told Bo that she had been drinking some because she was frightened about her baby and he was never around for her. Hope traveled to New Orleans to try and uncover the missing four years of her life. When Hope went to the hospital Stefano claimed to have found her in she met up with the doctor who performed her surgery. Hope was hoping he could give her some information, but all her records were lost. However, the Dr. did have one picture of what she looked like before her surgery. Hope also learned that the doctor in New Orleans planned all her surgeries, but only performed one. Hope was taken out of the hospital by her mysterious benefactor and the surgeries were finished elsewhere. Later, Hope met a woman who claimed to be roommates with Hope. She told Hope that she used to have terrible dreams and wanted to get back to Bayou Dugar, where the river meets the forked tree. Hope called Billie looking for Bo, but he wasn't there. They fought on the phone and Hope hung up. Later, Billie tells Bo that she got a call from Hope, who was in New Orleans. Bo became angry and told Billie he was going after Hope. Billie reminded Bo that they were waiting for the tests on the baby, but Bo promised to return in time to go to the doctor with Billie.

Hope went out to the Bayou Dugar and met Wayne and Earl, some locals who warned her that strangers weren't welcomed in these parts. Hope told them her story and they were shocked by the picture she had. Earl commented that there couldn't be two of them. Hope ignored their warnings and proceeded into the swamp. However, a mysterious stranger through a rock at her and knocked her out. Hope, with a bruised head and ego, returned to her hotel. When Hope came back to the hotel, Bo, John, and Marlena were waiting for her. Bo had come out of concern and John and Marlena were vacationing there. Hope wanted to return to the swamp and was talked into letting Bo go with her.

Bo and Hope went back out to the Swamp. A storm came up and Bo and Hope were forced to make a shelter to keep dry in. As they slept, Swamp Girl went through their things and stole Hope's silver compact. When Bo and Hope woke up they were forced out of the bayou by Wayne and Earl, who were brandishing shotguns. As Hope and Bo were flying back to Salem, Hope realized that her compact was missing and thought that Swamp Girl took it. After landing, Bo learned from Kate that Billie went to New Orleans with Roman. Bo called Roman, who was worried that Billie wasn't around. However, Billie finally showed up and Roman and Billie returned to Salem.

Upon arriving home, Billie decided to hang out in Salem Place. Billie saw Hope and the two got into a huge argument. Billie sped off in her car and Hope went to see Bo to tell her about the awful fight and awful things she said to Billie. Billie, who was to angry to concentrate on driving, ran off the road. Billie was found by a country doctor who treated her. Billie also coaxed him into going along with a story she had made up. The doctor called Bo, who was with Hope at the time. Hope and Bo both went out to see Billie. Billie had told Bo that she went into labor early and lost their baby girl. When Billie saw Hope come into the room, Billie screamed that Hope killed their baby. Billie claimed that her argument with Hope got her so upset that she went into labor, crashed her car, and lost their baby. Later, Billie, with the doctor's help, staged a fake funeral for her and Bo. Hope blamed herself, which is what Billie wanted, but Bo also blamed himself. In reality, Billie lost the baby down in New Orleans when she went into the bayou and searched for Bo and Hope.

Upon returning to Salem, John showed Hope a picture he found at the ruins of Maison Blanche. The photo was of Hope standing infront of a building wearing an odd suit. Hope told John about her trip to the Bayou and John told Hope that he had heard stories about the Swamp Girl while at Maison Blanch. Apparently, the Swamp Girl wrestled alligators and killed men. John and Hope decided to go see Celeste and ask her about the picture, but she had no idea when it was taken. However, Vivian recognized the outfit as one made in the 30s by a famous European designer, very little were ever made. Vivian told John and Hope that they should use some of her architecture books in her townhouse to try and find out the building in the picture. While going through the books, Hope found a picture of the painting "Garden at Twilight," which haunted her and caused her to remember a strange waltz.

Meanwhile, Bo helped Billie get over the loss of their baby. However, Bo told her that he still loved Hope and wanted to make a life with her. Billie was outraged, slapped him, and told him to get out of her life. Bo promptly filed for a leave of absence with the department and took off on his motorcycle. The Horton's and Brady's hosted a family barbecue for the Fourth of July. At the barbecue, John told Hope that he had spoken to a friend of his at a university. He told Hope three locations the picture could have been taken. Lugano, Switzerland was the one that stood out to Hope and she knew that was where she had to go. However, John managed to convince her to wait until they could learn more. Hope had sketched a portrait and shocked everyone with her artistic talent, something she never had before. John ID'd the portrait as the one they saw at Vivian's. The next day, Maggie gave Hope a book on the Impressionists when Alice had recognized the sketch was by Paul Renet. In the book it was revealed that Renet was from Lugano Switzerland. When Maggie accidentally broke Hope's silver comb, Hope found an engraving inside that read "Made in Lugano." Hope decided then and there that she was going to Lugano. John, with Marlena's blessing, went with Hope to keep her out of danger.

John and Hope arrived in Lugano and went into an antique shop and showed the comb to a man there. He identified it as being from a collection, which was stolen. The shopkeeper told them to leave immediately and he wouldn't report them to the police. After leaving, John and Hope witnessed the shopkeeper give the comb to a woman named Lucille. John and Hope followed Lucille to a grand house, which John recognized as the one from the picture of Hope. John and Hope entered the house, claiming to be in Lugano studying architecture. The house was owned by Ms. Faversham, Lucille was her caretaker as she wasn't a well person. Upon seeing Hope, Ms. Faversham called her Princess Gina, which shocked Hope and John. Ms. Faversham told Hope that they were good friends and she came to all the balls she used to host before she got sick. However, she mysteriously disappeared from the dance floor and hasn't been seen since. Hope wanted to continue talking to Ms. Faversham, but her caretaker Lucille said that Ms. Faversham needed to rest and they should go.

John and Hope left, but planned to return. John went into town to check out newspapers for info on Princess Gina and Ms. Faversham. Hope decided to act the part of a princess and went shopping for an elegant gown. While shopping, Hope was stunned to run into Billie. Billie claimed to be in town on Countess Williamina business. The two had a fight and Hope decided to just avoid Billie all together. Later, Hope questioned a salesperson about a silver compact similar to the one she had lost. Billie eavesdropped and learned the compact she had was actually Hope's.

John and Hope attended a dinner that Ms. Faversham was hosting and were shocked to see Roman and Billie there. Roman explained to him that he was posing as Jesse Bob Thorton, a texas Oil Tycoon, and Billie was his mistress Ruth Anne James. Roman knew Ms. Faversham years ago when he first began working on this art smuggling case for the ISA. Ms Faversham had lost a great deal of art treasures due to a theft. However, Roman was convinced it was an inside job. Over the course of the evening, Ms. Faversham told Hope that she was the toast of all the balls in Lugano and had many gentlemen callers, but remained true to only one man. Ms. Faversham also told Hope that she was like a daughter to her and was going to leave everything, including "Garden at Twiglight" to her. Alas, "Garden at Twilight" was stolen many years ago. Meanwhile, Lucille became irritated with Princess Gina and drugged her champaign to bring the party to a close quickly.

Hope and John decided to drive out to the country to see the grandson of Paul Renet, Maurice Renet. Earlier that day, John was shocked when two nuns recognized him as Father Black. At the Renet Estate, Maurice told John and Hope about the last party Ms. Faversham gave which he attended and showed them some pictures. Hope is nowhere to be found in them, but John is! John appears in one of the pictures with a beard and long hair. John asked Ms. Faversham if she remembered a priest being at past art auctions and she said there was a priest who was close with Princess Gina, but she hadn't seen him in over 15 years. Suddenly, Lucille showed up with Hope's passport and told Ms. Faversham and "Princess Gina" was a fraud. Hope explained her dilemma to Ms. Faversham, who later proved that Hope was Princess Gina because of a birthmark on her head. Ms. Faversham told Hope that perhaps she was really Princess Gina and made to believe she was Hope Brady.

We all know she turned out to be Hope, we think. The "proof" didn't arise until after Hope believing she and John were a couple made love. Hope found out she was pregnant. The father however, could have been John or Stephano.

John (JT) Thomas Brady was born on June 9, 2000 and he was named after his godfather, John Black, and Hope’s grandfather, Thomas Horton. At first no one knew who John Thomas’ father was and at one time it was considered to be either Stefano DiMera or John Black. Two years later the truth had come out that John Thomas Brady was switched at birth with another child that was born on the same day. This other baby boy, Isaac Theo, was adopted by Abe and Lexie Carver. When John Thomas’ real father gained custody over John Thomas and moved away, Bo and Hope fought for Hope’s rightful child and won. Finally after renaming Hope’s son, Beauregard Isaac Theo Brady, Zack, it was revealed that Bo was indeed the father.

Bo and Billie found out their daughter had not been still born but instead kidnapped by Stephano Dimera. A search for her ensued. They finally found her, her name is Chelsea Benson and she has lived in Salem all her life. She is a teen from hell and Hope has her hands full being supportive of Bo as well Billie. How is this gonna turn out? WillGeorgia be too much for Hope? STAY TUNED TO FIND OUT...

JACK AND JENNIFER (horton) DEVERAUX

After ending it with Frankie, she got involved with Emilio Ramirez, a dangerous guy with a dark past. When he named a racehorse after her, Jennifer's Beauty, it inspired her to write about the horses' career. With that, she headed to The Spectator to pitch the idea.

When the young, naive, and stubborn intern reporter walked into his office at the newspaper, looking for publication of an article, his and her lives would forever be changed. They had both lived in Salem for some time, but their paths had never crossed. Jennifer Horton began working more with Jack, and slowly but surely got Jack to open up to her and change his ways. Jennifer befriended Jack, and won his admiration for her spirit, spunk, and dedication. He had since changed from the jerk he once was to a sincere, but still complicated and secretive man. Jennifer was aware of the fact that he had raped Kayla, but didn't let that cloud her judgment as she began to care for him.

Once they began to spend more and more time together on reports, articles, and outside adventures, they began to see each other as more than co-workers. She began to understand his remorse for what he did to Kayla and his past ways, and the hurt he felt for being adopted and not knowing it until well into his adulthood. Jack was enamored with her sweetness, and her honesty. When she did a story on the baby of a homeless woman who had been arrested, he saw her compassion for humans in general, and the caring and kindness that was inside of her. They became closer as a result of this. Though no one else could see how Jack had changed, Jennifer realized it, and fell in love with him, as he did with her. She went after him, making sure he knew her feelings, and asking him to tell her how he felt. Jack would not have it; he did not consider himself to be good enough for anyone, much less a wonderful person like Jennifer.

Fate had other plans, as the two kept getting thrown together despite Jack's fear of hurting her, and the interference of Jennifer's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Emilio, who wanted Jen for himself. When Jack told Jennifer they couldn't be together for about the millionth time, she finally got tired of being rejected, and accepted Emilio's marriage proposal live on television.

Horrified, Jack realized he wanted Jennifer and couldn't lose her. On the day of the wedding, Jack dressed up as a fireman, and kidnapped Jennifer from the church, bringing her to a secluded cabin. Though kissing ensued, as well as being rescued by Emilio and Melissa, Jennifer remained engaged to Emilio when Jack would not make a commitment. (He couldn't shake his fear of hurting her.) Due to an adventure both were involved with involving Isabella Toscano and the missing diary pages of her mother's diary, both Jack and Jennfier, along with many other Salem citizens, were invited to ride on the voyage of the cruise ship, the Loretta (the name of Isabella's mother). Ernesto Toscano had a evil scheme planned for Jack, Jennifer, and the rest of the Salem-ites who attended; Hope, Bo, Victor, Julie, Isabella, and Roman. With danger apparent, Jack and Jennifer almost made love on the ship, but were interrupted. They all ended up escaping the ship and washing up on an island nearby. Jennifer was unconsious when they found her, and her leg was hurt. Jack found a small cave on the island, and brought her there to nurse her back to health. It was in that cave that Jack admitted he loved her, and the two made love for the first time.

Once rescued and back in Salem, Jennifer and Emilio broke up, but Jack seemed to be going back to his old self. He accidentally killed Harper when Harper tried to shoot Steve during his wedding to Kayla. Jennifer was there for him through this, but eventually Jack pushed Jennifer away, AGAIN. He loved her terribly, but was haunted by his past mistakes and the fear of turning out like his father. Hurt, she tried to forget him.

When Jennifer got involved with a scheme which involved Lawrence Alamain, Jack feared for her life, and went chasing after her in New York. Jennifer had posed as Katerina, Lawrence's betrothed fiance, so that the real Katerina, Carly Manning, would not have to marry him, and their engagement would be nulled. In the embassy in New York, Jack snuck into Jennifer's room disguised as a guard. He asked her to take him back, and the two made love. Jack vowed to get Jennifer out of the imposter mess, but a call telling him that Steve could be dying sent him back to Salem. Lawrence was a dangerous man, and knew Jennifer was a fake, so he planned to make her pay for trying to deceive him. He whisked her away to his country, along with Alice who was posing as Katerina's nanny. Steve died, and it fused Jack's determination not to lose Jennifer too. He flew to Lawrence's country, and under the name "Jasper Jasper", met up with Jennifer a few times to plan their escape. Things didn't work out as planned. On the night of the wedding, Jack was knocked out and locked up in a room, and Lawrence revealed to Jennifer that he knew her real identity. He forced her to marry him, with the threat of killing people close to her if she didn't. Then, after the wedding, he raped her. After that, he planned to keep her as his wife, though he knew she was not really Katerina.

Jack escaped from the room, and went off to search for Jennifer. At first Jenn pretended to love Lawrence so that Jack would not be in danger, but Jack eventually got her to admit it front of Lawrence that she loved Jack, and wanted to be with him. When Jack got Jennifer away from Lawrence and back to Salem, with the plan of annulling the marriage, he could tell something was different with her. She was emotionally scarred from the rape, but vowed that Jack would never find out. They started their relationship, and things looked good. Jack began to shop for engagement rings.

Jennifer's ex, Frankie, who had been revealed as Katerina's brother, was back in Salem, and needed a place to live. Because Jenn was sure she had no feelings for him, and only loved Jack, she let him live with her. Jack was upset, but was sure that after he proposed, there'd be no more worries.

The first time he proposed to Jennifer, on the rooftop with a romantic dinner moonlight, she said no, claiming she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Jack, but "I'm not ready to start the rest of my life, yet." In truth, she was still shaken up over the rape, and not quite sure about anything.

A few months later, on Christmas morning, Jack came down the chimney as Santa and proposed a second time. This time, the answer was "I love you, Jack. And I want to marry you. You know I want to marry you." With that, they were engaged! Trouble was not far away. Jack brought Jennifer soon after to a romantic cabin, and as they kissed, in a trance, Jennifer thought it was Lawrence, not Jack. She reeled back, slapped him, and called him a "rapist!" When she realized it was Jack, not Lawrence she had said that too, she was horrified, as was Jack. Broken-hearted, he responded, "It's always been there. It's always been there hasn't it? And when we tried to think.... we tried to convince ourselves that it wasn't there but it always was. We tried to rise above, so to speak. I can't tell you how many times you told me that you know I've changed. You told me that I had reformed and gotten past what happened with Kayla. I could now become a fine young individual in society. And I bought it." Jennifer plead with Jack, and begged him to believe that she didn't mean to call HIM a rapist, but the damage was done. Thinking that Jennifer would never forget what he did to Kayla, and angered that she would think that of him, Jack left. Jennifer could not bring herself to tell him that Lawrence raped her, that that was why she had called him a rapist. Devastated, Jack called off the engagement, further breaking Jennifer's heart.

As they both tried to move on, the threat of losing The Spectator was brought up when Lawrence revealed he wanted to buy Diana Colville's share. Jack did not have enough money to offer her more than Lawrence, and he became desperate. At the same time, upon the death of Nick Correlli, it was revealed that Eve Donovan would receive his inheritance if she married for love. Though she had feelings for Frankie Brady, he did not feel the same. Hearing about Jack and Jennifer's break-up, she went to him with a proposition. If they could convince Julie that they were in love, and get married, Eve would get the inheritance, and Jack would get enough money to offer Diana more than Lawrence. At first, Jack refused, thinking of Jennifer, but then he saw Frankie with Jennifer and got the wrong idea. He and Eve got drunk, and got married. Though Julie knew they were not in love, and that Jack loved Jenn, she consented to let Eve get the inheritance, and Jack was able to keep the newspaper.

Jennifer was hurt by the news of the marriage, but she was convinced that Jack did not love Eve, but still cared for her. Frankie assured Jen that Eve hated Jack. It was a marriage of convenience. It was never consummated. Later, when Eve was arrested for the murder of Nick Correlli, Jack and Jenn, ever the reporters, decided to investigate it... together.

The gun that was used to murder Nick Correlli was suspected to be on a certain train, so Jennifer and Jack, along with Frankie, decided to take a trip on the train and try to find it. They figured that finding the gun, and a letter with incriminating evidence that Lawrence was concerned about, would help them find the real murderer and prove Eve's innocence. Eve, wanting to be apart, since it wass her life in the balance, snuck onto the train.

Jack and Jennifer ended up having to share a train compartment(room), and it was awkward for both of them. After a night of searching for the gun on the train, and coming up unsuccessful, Jennifer decided to tell Jack she was raped. When she finally told him, he freaked out. He couldn't comprehend how she would ever want to be with him, knowing that he raped a woman, and having been raped herself. Jennifer and Jack discussed their relationship, and Jen tried to make him understand that he was the only thing that gave her strength after the rape. He was not sure they could ever be together.

Finally, the train was heading home, and the gun had still not been found. Jack and Jennifer, dressed up as a porter and a maid, tried to snoop around disguised, but were brought back to the lounge car, where Frankie had gotten into a fight. Eve pushed Jack into the fight, begging him to help Frankie, and he got knocked to the ground, face-down to a vent. Inside the vent, Jack could see the gun.

As Jack was trying to open the vent, a weird porter spotted him and questoned him, but then left. Once everyone left, Jack got the gun and went back to show Jennifer. Just then, Frankie found them, but were followed by the weird porter. He turned out to be a man hired by Johnnie Correlli, Nick's brother, to get the gun. He aimed a gun at Jack and demanded Jack to give the gun to him. Eve came in, and knocked the guy out. The four of them, followed by Brian, a cop, and Melissa, ran to the luggage car. Johnnie's man followed them, locked them in the car, and then disengaged it from the rest of the train. The car went off the tracks, and they had all fallen onto the floor. As the six searched for a way to be rescued, Jack revealed to Jennifer that he still had the gun. They were all finally rescued by a helicopter, and brought back to Salem.

Jack and Jennifer slowly but surely were on the road to a full reconciliation. It was finally revealed that Jack's mother, Jo, was the one who had killed Nick, and she was put under arrest. Jack and Jennifer were frustrated that there was no proven connection between Lawrence and the murder. Jennifer decided she was going to press charges against Lawrence for rape. Jo plead not guilty to the murder charges by reason of temporary insanity. As the plans for a trial against Lawrence progressed, the tension and stress mounted.

Jack proposed to Jennifer for a third time, and she assured him she wanted to marry him, but wouldn't accept a ring or the officiality of it until after the trial was finished.

Meanwhile, Kimberly Brady had been getting close to Lawrence, and was on his side. This was upsetting to Jennifer, as well as Kayla, Kim's sister. She took a letter from Jennifer's loft that might help Lawrence win in the trial. As the trial got closer, Lawrence publicly lied, stating that Jennifer seduced him, that he was only succumbing to her charms when they "made love." To comfort Jennifer, Jack took her up to the cabin where he had taken her after stopping her from marrying Emilio.

They believed, due to information given to them by Lawrence's maid, that Lawrence had a videotape of him raping Jennifer, because he had videocameras up for surveillance. They were unable to recover the tape.

The trial finally arrived, and Jack was afraid his appearance there would be harmful to Jennifer's case. First off, he was still married to Eve, and it was a known fact that he and Jennifer were together. She was intimate with Jack during her engagement to Lawrence, and it was feared that the defense would try to make Jennifer look like a tramp. He insisted on only being there for his testimony, but Jennifer told him she wanted him there, more than anything. During Jennifer's first testimony, the defense brought up how she was involved with an accused rapist. Upset, Jack ran out of the courtroom. He came back in to show Jen his support.

2 days later, Jack takes the stand. The defense brought up how Jack, right after raping Kayla, had not thought it was wrong because he had been married to her. Since Lawrence and Jennifer were married, they asked, wasn't it the same thing? "You did not rape Kayla Brady just like Lawrence Alamain did not rape Jennifer Horton."

Jack could not take it anymore. "I raped Kayla Brady!" he said, and pointing at Lawrence, "And you... you raped Miss Horton. You did!" When he sat down, he hung his head. Lawrence took the stand, and went on to say that Jennifer seduced him, and that she did not reject his advances. Jennifer screamed at him. "Liar!"

Next, the letter that Kim had taken from Jennifer was presented. It said that Lawrence had been under the influence of prescription drugs his whole life. Jennifer worried that it would ruin their chances. Shane told her that Kimberly had been on their side the whole time, she was just trying to get information from Lawrence. Kimberly managed to tape Lawrence admitting he raped Jennifer, and it was turned in. Lawrence finally went to jail.

Finally, Jack and Jennifer were engaged, and in the excitement of the moment, on air, Jack told Jennifer that everyone was invited!

With the stress of preparing for the upcoming wedding, Jack proceeded to get laryngitis, and couldn't talk. Still, no voice was needed when he and Eve finally signed divorce papers the day before the wedding. The wedding was going to be held at the Wild West arena in Salem, because it was big enough to hold all the guests. The night before the wedding, Jack went to the arena to try to calm some of his nerves, and was mistake for Bill Mahoney, a stuntman in a show for the arena. Because Bill was notorious for missing shows, and there would be a show right after the wedding, some people locked Jack in the arena. He couldn't tell them who he was, because he couldn't talk!

Jack had a dream while locked in the arena, about saving Jennifer from Wild Bill Mahoney. In the dream, after he punched Mahoney out, Jennifer pushed Jack and he fell off the roof. He woke up, screaming "Miss Horton, you pushed me!" Not only had he regained his voice, but he was finally able to get out of the locked building and find Jennifer.

Meanwhile, Jennifer was about to give up hope, because Jack was nowhere to be found. He finally found her, and the wedding was about to begin as scheduled. The ceremony was beautiful, with lots of emotion shown by Jack and Jennifer. She recited a poem called "Marriage." After the wedding, Jack brought Jennifer in the dressing room and gave her a touching letter he'd written her.

After, they went to the reception, and danced to their song, "All I Have". They went to the penthouse after the wedding, and Jack had it set up very romantic. There was candles lit, rose petals scattered on the bed, and champagne. Jennifer was very impressed. After Jack told Jennifer that that good heart of hers was "probably one of the best things that ever happened to me", the two made love.

After this, Jack gave Jennifer a cake, which said "HOLLYWOOD". It was his surprise for her; this would be where they'd go on their honeymoon! After being tricked out of all their money Jack found a place in a small, dirty apartment. Depressed, he realized it was Valentine's Day, and called Jennifer to tell her to meet him at their future address. When she arrived, she seemed very excited about something, but Jack was too depressed about the apartment to notice. Over cheap wine and crackers, Jennifer blurted out to Jack that she was pregnant! When they had reunited and made love for the first time since Jack had returned to Salem about a month earlier, their child had been conceived. On the set of Ask Dr. Love, no less! "Talk about a grand prize!" Jennifer said. Jack was not as excited. The expression on his face was one of utter fear. Still, he tried to act happy for Jennifer's sake, and then left the apartment to think. When he returned, Jennifer was upset, having realized that he was not as happy as she was about the baby. In bed that night, Jack's fears of not being a good father shown through, and Jennifer told him that she knew he would be a wonderful dad. Abigail Johanna Deveraux

When Jack learned shortly after that Abby had aplastic anemia, contracted because he had signed the wrong documents years before resulting in a polluted waterwell near their home, he decided Jennifer could never forgive him...and left Salem.

By the time jack came back Jennifer had moved on with Peter Blake. Jack didn’t seem to skip a beat and moved in with them.

When Peter took Jennifer to his hometown of Aremid, Jack followed them, and befriended a young woman named Sarah, hoping she would help him. She told him all about the woman in white, but once it was discovered that she was dressing like her (she'd fallen in love with Jack), Jennifer and Peter discounted the story. Also while in Aremid, Jack found the deed to the Blue Note with Peter's name on it (proving he was involved in his father's criminal activities), but before he could show Jennifer the pavilion caught fire...Jack was saved by Peter in the nick of time. Jennifer discovered Jack's affair with Laura when she walked in on Jack comforting her mother, and married Peter in her devastation (while Jack was in jail for arson, charges that were later dropped).

When Tony DiMera was murdered during the wedding reception and John Black the accused, Jack and Jennifer joined forces to prove his innocence. They went undercover at the Blue Moon, but just as they were about to prove Peter and Jude were linked, there was a police bust. Back in Aremid, Jude took Jennifer hostage, and Jack let him go to save Jennifer...who escaped on her own, complete with a matchbook containing the numbers to a bank account in the Cayman Islands. When the two went down there to check it out, Peter magically had the names on the account erased at the very moment they were accessing it. Then they learned that Bo was looking for Hope, who had disappeared, in Aremid, and joined the search. Jack watches Peter shoot Jude in cold blood, but everyone believes that Peter did it in self-defense. Jack followed Peter and Jennifer to Paris, still trying to prove that Peter was dirty. He found some books that could work as proof, but then Peter blew up the tunnels, and Jack and Jennifer barely escaped. Then Jack found Daniel Scott, the man Peter had hired to romance Laura. When Jack agreed to pay his debts (after luring him into a high-stakes poker game), Daniel confessed his dealings with Peter to Jennifer. She wouldn't believe his word alone, but Laura backed her up. After returning to Salem, Peter paid Daniel to tell Jennifer that Jack had bribed him to tell her those lies. Unluckily for Peter, Jennifer goes to Daniel on her own, and tricks him into telling her everything. Jack had been planning to leave town until he learned that Jennifer kicked Peter out, and hung around to protect his ex-wife and daughter. He found out Peter was planning to kidnap Jennifer and Abby, but the police couldn't do anything. Jack headed over to the house with a gun, and accidentally killed Peter in a struggle. He was arrested for his murder, and bailed out by Jennifer. Too bad for Jack, Stefano had blackmailed a judge, and Jack was sentenced to life

Jack was heartbroken when Abe came to the jail to tell him that Jennifer's car had crashed, and a dead woman had been found inside...presumed to be Jennifer. Jack was released from jail just long enough to attend Jennifer's funeral. Jack was exonerated of his crimes when Jennifer's 'spirit' convinced Peter to confess to his crimes. Upon returning home, Jack and Abby found a very live Jennifer, who told them about the plan the circus people had to fake her death and resurrection. Jack, Jennifer, and Abby all left Salem in June of 1998 for a vacation in Africa.

While in Africa, something went wrong. The two never ended up getting married, and Jennifer ended up tending bar in Ireland. After Bo found her, she returned to Salem. Jack learned from Alice that she had gone to Paris for Greta's coronation, and turned up to try, one last time, to get his wife and daughter back. He has followed Jennifer back to Salem, and and the two moved in together so they could look after Abigail. Jennifer initially pushed Jack away, and concentrated on relationships with first Brandon then Colin, but she and Jack couldn't resist that certain something that had always been between them. They were remarried, much to the delight of their daughter Abby.

Jack and Jennifer were just beginning to enjoy their married life together again, and to enjoy hosting In the House, a show that was one of Jennifer's father Bill's wedding gifts to her and Jack. Then Jennifer was dealt the harshest blow of her life when Jack was struck down in an alley behind Salem Place by the Salem Stalker, However, unbeknownst to everyone in Salem, Jack wasn't really dead -- he'd been kidnapped to a tropical island that was the spitting image of Salem! He tried to escape to make it back to Jennifer, but ended up lost in the jungle surrounding the compound. Luckily Patrick, Jennifer and Hope were also out there in the jungle, and Jack was there just in time to meet his brand new son. While trying to get back to Salem, Jack and Jennifer were separated and Jack was presumed dead again, but ended up in Tony's European castle being held prisoner.

Not one to be down and out, Jack was still determined to get home to Jennifer, and escaped from the DiMera castle, trying to make his way back to Salem. After numerous failed attempts, Jack managed to pair up with Cassie, Marlena and Roman, and the four eventually made it back to Salem. Jack was happy to be home with his wife and children, but he soon began feeling sick, and when he went in to Lexie, she advised him he only had a short period of time to live. Although Lexie and later Marlena tried to convince Jack to tell Jennifer, he was determined to enjoy the time he had left with his family without having them concentrate on his illness. Jen found out about Jack’s illness and is now trying to deal with his impending death.

SAMI BRADY AND AUSTIN REED

This storyline is another tale about Sami's lies and deceit, trying to win the love of her Austin and forcing Carrie to be with Dr. Michael Horton. There were some incidents that happened before Sami's evil schemes which led up to this storyline. She met Austin as a young teen, and was immediately infatuated with him. Her hopes were dashed when on the evening of the opening at Titan, she met Carrie's new boyfriend. It was her dream man: Austin. She couldn't believe the man she'd been telling Carrie about was the same man who was her sister's boyfriend.

Sami had been raped by one of Lucas's friends Alan.

Sami used her fear of Alan attacking her again to help nab Austin. On a number of occasions, she called Austin, saying she feared that Alan was after her. Every time, Austin came to her rescue and protected her. When Alan attacked Sami at gunpoint, she got hold of the gun and shot him in the groin, castrating him. When Sami caught heat from the local guys who taunted her for what she had done to Alan, she turned to Lucas for comfort and support and they made love. Austin walked in on Sami and Lucas and thought Lucas was making love to Carrie, so he left. Sami and Lucas let Austin believe that this was true. Sami then drugged Austin so that he would make love to her, thinking that she was Carrie. When he realized what he had done and refused to continue an affair, Sami left town and eventually ended up in Los Angeles. Meanwhile Carrie figured out that Austin had slept with someone else, but she didn't know who. Although emotionally estranged, Austin and Carrie took off together to find Sami. While they were looking for her, their romance grew.

While Sami was away from Salem, Lucas contacted her and told her she had to stop Carrie and Austin's wedding, because Lucas wanted the bride for himself. He knew that Sami was committed to holding onto Austin, no matter the cost. Sami did in fact stop the wedding. At the ceremony, she announced that she was pregnant and the groom-to-be was the lucky father of her child. Carrie stomped out of the church. Sami knew that she did not have Austin's love, but she had manipulated his sense of guilt and responsibility into a loyalty to her , which she expected would someday grow to be real love.

During this time Marlena was busy being possessed and dealing with Stefano DiMera. Marlena was also busy dealing with her pregnant daughter Sami. Marlena continued to help Carrie, but because of the baby, Austin felt a heavy responsibility to Sami and helped her with Lamaze classes and financial and emotional support. Of course Austin was there when "his son" was born by c-section.

Will was not healthy at birth, which meant that Austin and Sami kept a bedside vigil, praying for the boy's well-being. Sami mistook this care for his son as love for her. Following his birth, Sami developed complications and ended up back in the hospital. After she got out, she was supposed to take it easy. She injured herself again when she dragged Carrie and Lucas' body into the bedroom to make it seem that they had slept together.

Sami got in the way of Austin and Carrie's relationship anytime she could. When they finally planned to go away together on a pre-honeymoon, Sami immediately planned Will's baptism, making them postpone their trip.

When Will was about six months old, Sami decided to move out on her own. With Lucas' help, she found a run down apartment in a shady part of town. She figured Austin would never want his son in a place like that and offer his apartment to them. Austin didn't fall for this scheme, so Sami was stuck in the apartment with her young son. She befriended Mary, a woman who lived down the hall. She told Mary all of her problems and felt that Mary was a true friend who was going to help her get her man. Mary had ulterior motives. She had her eye on Will. One day as Sami slept, Mary kidnapped Will and headed to Paris with him, prepared to sell him on the black market.

Nearly all of Salem left for Paris in the summer of 1996, searching for a kidnapped Marlena. When Austin and Carrie returned from Paris, ready to be married, they learned that Will had been kidnaped, so their wedding was put on hold once again. When Austin recalled the baby next door and to his and Carrie's hotel room, they returned to the hotel, but learned that Mary had left. At the same time, Mary was meeting with people who wished to adopt Will. Sami and her mother headed to Paris in the hopes of finding Will. Marlena felt guilty because she had seen Will in Paris and didn't recognize him. Kate arranged for a broadcast plea from Austin and Sami, begging for Will to be returned to them

Carrie is comforted by Billie Reed, Kate's daughter, who lived in Paris. Billie, who had been thinking about returning home to Salem, decided to move back, although she continued to struggle with her feelings towards Bo. While out shopping with Billie, Carrie spotted Mary, and rushed after her. Carrie managed to capture Mary, who refused to say where Will was.

Carrie managed to get Mary to tell who she had given Will to, and Carrie and Austin rushed to the airport to stop the couple who had Will. At long last Will was returned to his family, and Sami still believed that she and Austin would be a couple. Later, though, French social services authorities took Will into custody. Carrie and Austin were shocked to learn that Sami and Austin had to marry in order for Will to be returned to their custody. Carrie urged Austin to go through with the wedding, although she felt destroyed by the turn of events. Austin and Sami were forced to appear like a happy family, even sharing a room for their honeymoon night. Although Sami tried to seduce Austin, he would have none of it.

Carrie broke down when she saw Austin and Sami together, and things got worse when she learned that Sami and Austin might have to stay in Paris. Sami went to the judge in hopes of turning things in her favor, but her plans backfired when the judge told her that she and Austin could return to Salem. Carrie, Austin, Will and Sami returned to Salem, although Sami was determined not to let Austin get away from her now that she was married to him.

Two days after Sami crashed Austin's car, on New Year's Eve 1996, Austin hit Sami with his car in a parking garage. Sami gets last rites when she is in the hospital and the family has a bedside vigil. Nothing seems to have an effect on her. Austin brings Will to see her, hoping that him being there will bring her out of the coma, but it doesn't. Finally, Austin plays their wedding tape for her. A few days later Sami opens her eyes. She thinks she is 16 again, and called for her father Roman, who she assumes is still in Salem.

If Sami doesn't get her memory back, Austin and Carrie cannot get their annulment. At first, Sami didn't even remember her son Will, but eventually remembered him and her wedding to Austin. Mickey and Mike encouraged Austin to play the loving husband so that it might help Sami regain the rest of her memories. Carrie hated the idea, but eventually went along with it for her sister's health. Lucas continued to push Sami towards Austin in hopes that he could get closer to Carrie, who became emotionally fragile after Austin and Sami reenacted their Paris wedding. Although Austin and Carrie shared a romantic Valentine's evening, before they got to bed, Sami had a lot of pain and called Austin to be with her. Carrie was deeply hurt to see Austin cradling Sami in her hospital bed, and the next morning, Carrie saw him kiss Sami, unaware that he just had a dream about Carrie. It was his dream, not Sami, that provoked the kiss. Carrie and Austin spent the day together and smoothed things out. Seemingly unselfish Lucas continued to take special care of Sami, but she called for Austin at every tingle of pain.

Sami became hysterical when she learned that her paralysis may be permanent. No one could comfort her -- she wanted her father. John promises to try and find Roman. Kate offers to fly Sami to a rehab facility in Hawaii where she would get the best care. Sami wanted Austin and Will to come with her since there are apartments for families there. However, Austin arranges for Sami to get good therapy in Salem. When he joins her in a whirlpool and givers her a kiss, Carrie sees their growing affection, and she starts to lose patience with Austin and Sami's pretend marriage, and is beginning to lose faith in Austin's love.

Kate redecorated Austin's apartment, under the guise of making it wheelchair accessible, but was really searching for the evidence Sami had against her. Lucas moves ahead with his own plans to land Carrie's heart. He's also suspicious of his mother's helpfulness towards Sami and figures out that Sami's got something on his mom.

Lucas snuck Sami out of the hospital and she interrupts a romantic evening Austin and Carrie had planned. Although Sami didn't see Carrie, she suspected that Austin was having an affair when she sees a lipstick and negligee that's not hers at the apartment. Later, she figures out that Carrie is sleeping with Austin. Sami decided to get discharged from the hospital immediately. Kate could not find Sami's blackmail material, but since Sami's memory was lost, she wasn't worried about it anymore. Sami insisted on leaving the hospital and recuperating at home. That ruined Carrie and Austin's plans for Hawaii. Fed up with the charade, Carrie went to the Titan benefit with Lucas against Austin's wishes. Lucas provided Sami with computer magazines and led her to encourage Austin to work from home. Carrie lost the opportunity to have Austin to herself at the office.

The news of Roman's death jolted Sami's memory of John and Marlena in an embrace on the Titan boardroom table. She clung tighter to Austin for support. Again, Carrie felt estranged by Austin's loyalty to Sami. She insisted that Austin tell Sami about them immediately. By the time he decided to go ahead and tell Sami that they aren't really happily married, Carrie receives a letter from Roman that asked her to take care of Sami and be protective of her. Ironically, Carrie stopped Austin from telling Sami everything. Together, they introduced Nurse Lynne to Sami, hoping that she might help spark Sami's memories, regarding how she had Lynne's help in drugging Austin the night she got him into her bed almost a two years ago. Of course, Lucas encouraged Sami to keep to herself that she vaguely remembered talking to Lynne about a drug.

Lucas gained more influence over Sami, who regained some vague memories. However, Lucas convinced her to hide her recovery from Austin, who had argued with Carrie over Billie's arrest. That conflict delighted Lucas, and rekindled his chances with Carrie. Later, Lucas realized that Austin would never let go of Carrie if he thought she would turn to him, so Lucas told Austin that Carrie was interested in Mike Horton. When Austin saw Carrie with Mike, he was upset and continued to get more upset. Sami told Austin that Mike was Carrie's first secret crush, and everyone else commented on what a perfect couple they made. At Carrie's suggestion, Mike bought the sports car of his dreams and the two started to go out together as friends.

Trying to live down his father's reputation for being a bad husband and father, Austin tried to show Sami some genuine concern. He even slipped into bed in the early morning, but Sami assumed he had been there all night and made reference to waking up with Austin in a conversation with Carrie. A few weeks later, Sami tried to fix the iron and managed to electrocute herself. The jolt brought back her memory, along with a bit of her old personality. After Lucas warned her not to tell Austin about this, Sami realized Austin was only interested in staying with her until she was well. She decided to keep her regained memory to herself. The only others who knew were Lucas and Kate -- who Sami could manipulate through the blackmail material she remembered.

When Austin asked Carrie to pick up Will while he ran errands, Will and Carrie almost died when there was a cargo accident on the pier. Will was knocked into the river and Carrie followed. Austin jumped into the river to save them both.

Sami and Lucas continued to work to keep Carrie apart. As Mike and Carrie's friendship grew closer, Austin took Sami and Will home from the hospital. Realizing they were drifting apart, Austin and Carrie made plans to get away together but Sami enlisted Lucas to mess up their plans, so that Mike and Carrie ended up together at the lodge. Lucas' fire alarm ploy at the lodge backfired, however, when the couple helped a man who had a heart attack, and the hotel manager mistook them for newlyweds and gave them a free suite. While Austin's jealousy over Mike smoldered, Carrie had doubts that she and Austin could really make it in the long run.

When Sami went to the Kiriakis mansion, she confronted Kate over the business trip that Kate had arranged for Austin and Carrie so they could be together out of town, away from Sami. As they argued, a photo fell from the envelope that held the blackmail material Sami was keeping over Kate. When wheelchair-bound Victor saw it, he suffered a serious second stroke and a distraught Kate accused an unwavering Sami of being a murderess. At the hospital, Kate planned to expose Sami, but Mike warned her that more stress could be very dangerous for Victor, so she backed off. In fact, to appease Sami, Kate announced she would buy a house in the country for Austin, Sami and little Will. Although Austin nearly caught Sami walking, she managed to cover and Lucas continued to play on Austin's fears about a deepening relationship between Carrie and Mike.

Sami, meanwhile, was rocked when she noticed a discrepancy in Will's blood type. Now Sami isn't even sure who really Will's father is. Her new project was to change the records in the hospital computer so that it looks as if Austin fathered Will.

Sami used her dying dad to bolster her position with Austin by telling Roman that Austin wasn't Carrie's boyfriend . . . . he was Sami's husband and they were a happily married couple. She also told Roman that Carrie and Mike were dating and wanted his approval. Because of his condition, everyone felt obligated to spare Roman any harsh truths that might hurt him. Austin was devastated to hear Carrie go along with Roman's belief that she and Mike were a couple, unaware she was trying to keep Roman comfortable. Carrie grew more suspicious about Sami's convenient memory lapse, which still had Austin tied to Sami's side. Meanwhile, Kristen and Stefano were impressed with the level of Sami's deception, for Stefano could see everything going on in the DiMera mansion from his hidden cameras.

A little research into blood types (she'd had experience in 1993 when she switched Belle's paternity tests) convinced Sami that Lucas, not Austin, was Will's father. She tried to change the hospital computer records to hide this fact. However, when a nurse saw someone who looks like Sami walking around the hospital, she told Dr. Michael Horton. In turn, Mike called Carrie, Austin and Lucas. They found Sami, but she covered her presence at the hospital. She told them that she didn't want to tell them she could walk until she had been examined by a doctor. Carrie suspected that Sami's memory had returned and that she was faking her amnesia to hang onto Austin. Carrie tried to trick Sami by asking her to be a bridesmaid at Marlena's wedding to John, knowing that Sami blames them for the breakup of her parent's marriage. Sami refused but cleverly dodged her real animosity, saying she felt awkward in a wheelchair and would steal attention from the bride.

As a result of Victor's second stroke, he was transferred to a private hospital out of town called New Haven Medical Center. Sami again used the time at the hospital to try and change Will's records. She also asked Maggie about job possibilities at the hospital, which stirred Carrie's suspicions. Sami also grew concerned that Lucas was spending too much time with Will. She grabbed Will out of his hands on a number of occasions, afraid he'd somehow know he was the boy's father. Sami was even more desperate to keep Austin from getting an annulment.

Austin grew more optimistic about getting an annulment and told Carrie their ordeal might be over soon. However, he also saw Carrie and Mike drawing closer to each other, unaware that Lucas and Sami made sure that Austin would see those two together. In spite of nudges from his mom, Laura, to pursue his feelings for Carrie, Mike decided to hold his heart in check. While Mike helped Carrie deal with her father's condition and her doubts about believing that she might be better off with Mike, Austin pocketed the annulment papers without showing them to her.

After Sami found the annulment papers, Austin admitted their entire relationship was a lie. She left, but still plotted to get Austin back. Sami planted a speaker in Austin's apartment and played the sound of his son crying out for him. Austin suffered nightmares of his father, Curtis, and doubted his own role as a father. Kate vowed to stop Sami's schemes, but Sami held her blackmail threats over Kate. She said she would reveal to everyone that Kate had once been a call girl, and that she is Franco's mysterious employer and plotted to keep Bo and Hope apart for months. Kate considered sacrificing herself for Austin's happiness, but when it came down to it, Kate was too frightened to act.

Meanwhile, Roman told Sami that he regretted never walking either of his daughters down the aisle. This spurred Sami to yet another tactic. She and Will moved out because it wouldn't be right for her to live with Austin, unmarried. After a lot of thought about Carrie and Mike and Will, Austin made his decision. He proposed to Sami, and of course she accepted. Although she almost blew Sami's game, Kate stopped herself from telling Austin that Sami had regained her memory for the fear of repercussions of Sami's blackmail. Instead, Kate offered Sami a million dollars and a fortune in jewels to give up Austin, but she refused.

When Marlena found out about a bacterial disease conference in L.A., Carrie offered to go so Marlena could stay in Salem with Roman. Mike, as a doctor and family friend, joined Carrie on the trip. A lost reservation forced them into sharing a suite together. And, in a lighthearted moment, Carrie helped Mike one-up an old classmate (Craig Wesley) by posing as his girlfriend. When Carrie seemed down, Mike treated her to a night on the town and a sandcastle at the beach. A few days later, they headed to the mountain cabin of Dr. Brock, who might be able to help Roman. Austin repeatedly tried to reach Carrie at the hotel but never left a message. Carrie had called Austin, but Sami erased the tape. Making matters even worse, the hotel receptionist commented about how in love Mike and Carrie appeared to be.

While headed for the doctor's cabin, a storm burst and the car skidded off the road. Mike pulled Carrie from the car before it burst into flames. In an empty shack, Mike put Carrie in his clothes and used his body heat to keep an unconscious Carrie warm. Both of them had romantic dreams of a kiss, but while Mike's thoughts were of Carrie, hers were of Austin. When she came to, Mike finally professed his love for her, but she had fallen asleep again. The next day, Carrie was fine until a snake bit Mike. Carrie saved his life with quick-thinking and first aid skills.

Finally, with a prescription that would hopefully make Roman more comfortable, Carrie called the Kiriakis mansion, trying to reach Austin. Sami answered and told Carrie that she and Austin were getting married. Roman would finally get to walk a daughter down the aisle before he died. Carrie was stunned, but determined to get back to Salem before the ceremony.

Sami went to the hospital, claiming she was getting her prenuptial blood test, but was really intent upon changing Will's blood type in the hospital computers to keep his paternity a secret. When Eric and Austin found Sami at the keyboard, Sami had to cover. Carrie and Austin went over the reasons why Austin felt he should marry Sami. He insisted it was the best for everyone. Carrie was devastated to have lost Austin again, most likely for the last time. On the big wedding day, Mike planned to tell Carrie he loved her. Sami continued to hide her memory's return and the truth that Lucas is really Will's father. Her anxiety became apparent to her twin, Eric. When Eric told Roman that Sami was hiding something, and it had something to do with her being at the hospital, Roman took one look at Austin and Carrie's pained expressions and pretended to collapse. That gave Eric time. He and Carrie headed for the hospital and, with Mike's help, accessed the files. They found out that Austin could not possibly be Will's father. Instead, Lucas' blood type indicated that he fathered Will.

Carrie hurried back to the church in time to stop the wedding, and she punched Sami. Eric and Mike arrived with a print out of blood types and compatibility, proving Austin was not Will's dad. Carrie raged over the harm Sami had caused. Lucas was stunned when he discovered he was Will's real father, and Austin was devastated when he found out that he was not. Austin asked Carrie to marry him right away. Mike tried to tell Carrie how he felt towards her, but he couldn't get himself to do it. Austin asked Mike to be the best man, he accepted with a secretly aching heart.

In her pain and anger, Sami threatened to tell Roman the truth about Marlena being in love with John. She realized she couldn't hurt her father. She remained determined never to accept Carrie and Austin as husband and wife. Against Eric's counsel, Sami crashed the reception and Marlena finally slapped her daughter after Sami said that Marlena's love for John was nothing more than her cheating on Roman.

On Austin and Carrie's wedding night, Sami called and interrupted them, saying Will was sick When Austin went to check on him, Sami acted as if he had returned for good and delayed his leaving, but ultimately couldn't keep him. At the same time, Mike dropped by to see Carrie. When Austin returned, he saw Mike with Carrie's negligee in his hands. Austin remembered that Sami insisted that Carrie was in love with Mike, but instead Mike insisted that it was all very innocent. Austin spent their wedding night full of love. In the morning, Austin surprised Carrie with a honeymoon trip to Rome.

After landing a job at the hospital, Sami lied to accept an invitation for Mike to attend a medical conference in Rome, where he would see Carrie. Kate found out about Sami's manipulation, but because of her blackmail material, she could do nothing to interfere. In Rome, Austin and Carrie had a storybook honeymoon. During a Renaissance-themed street fair, Austin wore a costume that was exactly the same as Mike's. When Carrie kissed the man she believed was Austin, she was shocked to find out her mistake. Mike, of course, was both thrilled and pained by the mistake.

Sami arrived in Rome and took a room next to Austin and Carrie's honeymoon suite. When she sneaked into the room to steal Carrie's diary in hopes of finding something about Mike in it, the newlyweds returned. Sami hid under the bed and listened to the couple make love. She became more determined than ever that she should be married to Austin. Dressed as a nun, Sami ran into Franco who was in Rome and recognized Sami. He blamed her blackmailing for Kate of losing Hope. Although intimidated by Franco's darker side, Sami agreed that if he helped her get Austin back, she would help him win back Hope. Carrie, Austin and Mike flew back to Salem, unaware that Sami, in a nun's habit, was also on the plane. At the airport, Sister Mary Moira stepped in when customs challenged Sami's passport, which indicated she was not a nun. Lucas threatened to take Will away from Sami is she did not accept him as Will's father and stop her pursuit of Austin. Although Sami told everyone she had been in the mountains, not in Rome, her twin, Eric, knew she was lying. Sami overheard Carrie tell Mike that she'd been thinking about the wonderful times they shared. Later, Kate offered Carrie another honeymoon to making up for the one Sami had intruded upon, but Carrie's refused, saying that she would not allow Sami to run her life. When Carrie and Austin discussed children, Austin was shocked to discover that Carrie was not as anxious as he was to start a family. Sami lived with hate knowing that she couldn't have Austin and tried her hardest to get him back, but she and Franco started hitting it off. Carrie and Austin were doomed. She and he split and Carrie left Salem. Sami once again got her claws into Austin. They had yet another wedding day. Just before the ceremony was about to start Austin over heard Sami bragging to Lucas about the lies she had told Austin and everyone else to keep Lucas away from Will. Such as Lucas hitting Will. Austin immediately called off the wedding and soon left Salem.

Austin recently retunred to Salem to attend Sami and Lucas's wedding. Of course we know this wedding didn't place either. Austin is busy consoling Sami right now, living with her. He is starting a new bisness and has hired both Nicole and Sami. Fireworks are sure to airse as these two buck heads over and over again. Sami and Nicole are far from friends. Nicole has designs on Austin does Sami still carry a torch for him?

CARRIE BRADY AND AUSTIN REED

Carrie Brady was not always a good girl. For a while she was her cop father Roman Brady's worst nightmare. So when Carrie met Austin Reed, who was into illegal activities, Roman immediately opposed the match. For a while Carrie stopped seeing Austin because she was afraid Roman would arrest him if their relationship continued.

Determined to get Carrie back, Austin got a real job working for Jennifer Devereaux and said goodbye to his bad boy days. It worked, and very soon Carrie returned to Austin with apprehensive approval from Roman.

Carrie was a rare beauty and was voted the "Face of the 90s" by Bella Magazine. All seemed to be going well for her and Austin until a vial of acid intended for Austin was splashed across her face, scarring her. That same night Austin was ready to propose to Carrie and he went to the hospital with a ring, but she sent him away fearing he wouldn't love her anymore because of her ugly face. The scars that covered Carrie were more emotional than physical, and it wasn't long before her faced healed completely

It wasn't long before Carrie was surrounded by suitors. Allen, Lucas, and Austin were all interested in her. Allen and Lucas were friends, and although they were both competing for Carrie's affections, their rivalry with each other couldn't possibly match the competitive animosity between Lucas Roberts and Austin Reed. Carrie still loved Austin, but still didn't feel secure enough to let him back into her heart. Also, Carrie's half-sister Sami had always been in love with Austin, and was beginning to make moves on Austin, which Lucas encouraged.

Carrie and Austin did get back together, but only after Sami drugged and manipulated Austin into sleeping with her one night when he was drunk and depressed over Carrie. The next morning he awoke with no recollection of the night before except that he thought he had made love to Carrie. When he rejected Sami, and told her that he would only ever love Carrie, she got so upset that she split town. Austin and Carrie teamed up to find Sami, but to no avail. When they finally reunited, they continued to worry about Sami on the run, but a guilty Austin couldn't bring himself to tell Carrie the reason Sami had left.

Austin never did tell Carrie about his one-night sexual encounter with Sami, and they became engaged. Sami read about their wedding and decided that it was time to make her return to Salem. She showed up just before Austin and Carrie were about to exchange vows and annonced to everyone that she was pregnant with Austin's child. Carrie was completely shocked and immediately called the wedding off. When Austin explained what happened she did not immediately forgive him, and a wedge just large enough had been driven between them to give Sami hope that she could keep Austin for herself.

Carrie had a change of heart and let Austin know, but Sami had begun to take advantage of the situation and was using Lucas to keep Carrie away. The commitment to Sami's child having been made, Austin was bound by honor not to abandon Sami. With an absent mother and father, Sami had no where to live so Austin invited her to stay at his place for the sake of the baby. Carrie moved out and Sami moved into Austin's apartment and his life. Lucas tried to convince Carrie that Austin should be with Sami, that they shared a child and that was a very strong bond. Austin held back thinking that Carrie had chosen to be with Lucas instead.

Kate was the one to reveal Sami's schemes and Austin and Carrie gleefully returned to each other and planned another wedding in Paris. They were foiled again when Will was kidnapped. He was found in Paris but to get him out of the country he had to be released to his parents. Carrie gave up all her wedding arrangements and Austin married Sami, planning on an immediate annulment upon return to Salem. Unfortunately, Austin accidentally hit Sami with his car causing her amnesia and paralysis. Sami's doctor, Mike Horton, suggested that he pretend to be her real husband to help her regain her memory. Out of guilt, Austin agreed and a frustrated Carrie began spending time with Mike Horton, who fell in love with her.

Sami's charade of amnesia nearly separated Carrie and Austin for life as the wrong sister walked down the isle to marry Mr. Reed. Austin, believing that Carrie had fallen in love with Mike Horton, and after being gaslighted by Sami into further feelings of guilt about being an absent father, Austin proposed to Sami, thinking it was "best for everyone." But with the help of Sami's twin Eric and Austin's rival Mike Horton, Carrie showed up in time to pull nearly the same stunt her half-sister had pulled at her wedding years earlier. The jig was up as the truth about Will's paternity was revealed - Austin did not father Will, Lucas did. Austin asked Carrie to marry him on the spot, that very day. And at long last, the couple was wed.

Soon after the couple wed, Carrie began working day and night to try and help Dr. Mike Horton become the new Chief of Staff. That began to put a riff between her and her newly wed husband. They rarely spent any time together and therefore, Austin became more involved with working out at the gym. Sami, still manipulative and deceitful, hired an old boxing buddy of Austin's to try and coax Austin back into the ring. For a while, Austin resisted the ploy but slowly he became more and more eager to get in the ring. Carrie became aware of Austin's time at the gym and after seeing him there, in the ring, tried to get Austin to tell her the truth about it, but because of the history behind boxing, Austin held the truth back. From that point, Carrie and Austin both feel as though they are getting further and further apart as Carrie pulls closer to Mike and Austin pulls closer to the ring.

Carrie and Austin split she left town and Austin eventually got with Sami, AGAIN. After their almost wedding he left town. He has recently retunred and Carrie is soon to follow. Will we see a repeat of Carrie/Sami/Austin?

BO BRADY AND BILLIE REED

When Billie Reed arrived in Salem she brought with her the devil's own temper and more problems than any one person should have to deal with. Billie suffered an addiction to drugs. She had a more than checkered past. Bo was assigned to guard Billie after past connections tried to use Billie's past into blackmailing her into covering for them while they tried to launder money and deal drugs.

Billie and Bo started getting closer and closer. Unfortunately for Billie, Bo was involved, and very much in love with Carly Manning.

When Carly left Salem with Lawrence, Bo was heart broken. It didn't take long for him to realize that he had already fallen in love with Billie. Billie and Bo were just on the verge of beginning a wonderful relationship when Curtis Reed, Billie's abusive, presumed dead father arrived in Salem.. Unknown to Bo, Curtis began to terrorize Billie. He used drugs to convince Billie to lie for him and used her weakened condition and attempted rape. It wasn't long afterwards that Curtis was found murdered, there were many suspects. Billie was arrested after her gun proved to be the murder weapon. Because of the drugs, Billie couldn't remember the night he was shot, it seemed that all her memories served to do was dig a deeper and deeper hole.. Although Billie wouldn't or couldn't tell Bo anything about her past, he mortgaged his boat to post her bail.

During her trial, Billie was forced to reveal Curtis' incestuous abuse. She was afraid that if Bo discovered the truth he would never be able to love her. Billie was released after the police discovered that Stefano had killed Curtis is self-defense and framed Billie.

Bo, Billie and many others later went to Maison Blanche for a charity cotillion Kristen sponsored. While there, they found an amnesiac woman, named Gina, being held captive by Stefano. She looked remarkable like Hope, Bo's presumed dead wife. Also, in Louisiana, Bo finally proposed to Billie.

Once back in Salem, fingerprint and DNA tests proved inconclusive as to whether Gina was in fact Hope. Over several months, Gina became convinced she was Hope and Bo became attracted to her. When Billie discovered Celeste was giving Gina Hope's memories, Bo doubts were reaffirmed and he returned to Billie. Gina and Billie continued to compete for Bo's love.

Bo and Billie planned a New Year's Day wedding with Gina as a bridesmaid.

LISA RINNA AND ROBERT KELER-KELLY AND BILLIE REED AND BO BRADY

Bo and Billie made it to the altar, but the wedding was halted when the chandelier came crashing down. Then Alice arrived to stop the wedding because she believed Gina was Hope. Later, Gina testified in court that she didn't believe she was Hope and the judge signed papers having Hope declared legally dead. Bo and Billie finally married.

krista allen and peter reckel and bille reed and bo brady

More and more evidence appeared to prove Gina was Hope. Then they found a letter Hope had written Bo on their wedding day. The fingerprints matched. There was no longer any doubt. Gina was Hope.

Since Hope was still alive and married to Bo, his marriage to Billie was invalid. Bo was forced to choose between Billie and Hope. He chose Billie and legally divorced Hope.

Billie felt that Bo needed time to really understand his feelings for Hope. She knew that time would help give Bo the time they both needed. When Countess Wilimena required her to learn all she could, she headed off to Europe to study more about the perfume and make-up industry and let Bo sort out his feeling alone. She left Bo and Salem behind and moved to Paris.

When Billie returned to Salem, Bo and Hope were once again a couple. Billie tried to hold on to Bo with little success. Even telling him that she was pregnant didn't help. (Although) Bo did promise to be there for the baby. Billie lost the baby (it was born too early) and tried to blame it on Hope which worked for a short while but eventually Bo and Hope reunited and Billie moved off to lick her wounds.

This ended the Days of Bo and Billie.

Billie has since retunred to Slame. Hope continues to believe she wants her husband Bo. Billie admits to still loving Bo and says she always will however accepts their marriage. Bo and Billie were given evidence proving their daughter Georigia had never actually died. Instaead she had been kidnapped by Stephano Dimera and raised by someone else all these years. Following one of these "clues" got the two of them trapped in pit where gases were released. Bo was halucianting and believed Billie was Hope. Billie took advantage of this and got him to make love to her, Hope of course found them thus fueling the fire that Billie wanted ehr hsband. They have since found Georgia and found out her name was Chelsea Benson and had been of friend of Abby Deveraux's all these years being raised in Slame. Chelsea is playing on Bo's guilt and treating Billie like crap. What will happen as a result of Chelsea/Georgia's games? Will Bo and Billie end up together??

BO BRADY CARLY MANNING

Carly Manning arrived in Salem while Bo Brady was trying to recover from the death of his wife, Hope. Katerina (her given name) was engaged to marry Lawrence Alamain. Their marriage was prearranged by their parents when they were children.

In an attempt to help her friend, Jennifer Horton posed as Katerina and agreed to marry Lawrence. Shortly before the wedding, Jennifer discovered that Frankie Brady was being held prisoner by Lawrence and that Frankie was in reality, Francois Von Leushner, Carly's brother.

Carly explained that she needed Bo's help to rescue her brother and managed to talk Bo into travelling with her to Ubilam (that's Malibu spelled backwards). Lawrence had a hatred for Bo that seemed to withstand time.

Several years earlier, Bo had rescued Katerina from being manhandled by Lawrence (She had just learned that the man she loved had deceived her and was not who he said he was.) Bo apparently decked Lawrence and his ego was bruised more than anything else.

During their trip to Ubilam, Carly and Bo took refuge overnight in an abandoned cabin. Carly complained that the mattress on the bed was too lumpy for her to get comfortable and Bo went in search of what was causing the discomfort. Bo discovered a small pepple underneath the mattress. He took to calling her "Princess" as in the princess and the pea.

Shortly after returning to Salem with all beloved Salemites in tack (with the exception of Jennifer who had been raped by Lawrence) Victor Kiriakis suffered a stroke and Carly was hired to care for him. Victor found her to be sweet and gentle and caring and he quickly fell in love with her. Carly, of course, had fallen in love with Bo but when Bo told her he needed time to deal with Hope's death, Carly accepted Victor's marriage proposal.

Bo wrote a love letter to Carly, asking her not to marry Victor. He gave it to Emmy Borden to deliver. Emmy was in love with Bo and very much afraid of Victor, she gave the letter to Victor. Victor forged notes to Bo and Carly, each telling the other to forget them and to go on with their lives.

Bo and Carly soon learned that Victor had stopped them from being together. Victor planned to kill Bo, his own son, in order to keep Carly for himself. When Carly refused to return to Victor, he rigged the elevator in Bo's apartment building. The plan backfired, both Bo and Carly were in the elevator and Carly was wounded.

In a final attempt to keep Bo and Carly apart, Victor faked his own death. They soon discovered that Victor was alive and followed his trail to Mexico. While in Mexico, Bo and Carly celebrated with a Mayan "Marriage of the Heart."

After returning to Salem, Bo went back to work with the Salem Police Department and was working undercover with Roman on a drug sting. Bo was kidnaped by Rafi Torres. During his rescue, Rafi was wounded and his brother was killed. Rafi vowed revenge. Rafi stranded Carly and Shawn Douglas on Bo's boat.

Lawrence arrived in time to rescued her and nursed her back to health, but Carly still longed for Bo. Bo was finally rescued successfully and the two were reunited.

Bo and Carly traveled to Paris after receiving a call from a doctor telling Carly that the baby Carly believed was stillborn, was still alive. Bo and Carly traced her steps trying to find her son. Refusing to give up hope or to let Carly give up hope, they returned to Salem with a renewed determination. The couple became engaged. The child was Carly and Lawrence's son. Carly did not inform Bo of this revelation and continued to go along with their wedding plans. Later, Carly found she was still attracted to Lawrence, but vowed to marry Bo.

Just as the lovely doctor was about to exchange vows with rebel-turned-cop Bo Brady, her ex-lover, Lawrence Alamain, stormed the chapel with a devastating announcement. Naturally, the groom was surprised when Lawrence crashed the ceremony, announced the boy's parentage, and informed Carly that their child had been kidnapped by his adoptive mother (Vivian). Carly left Bo holding the rings and raced away with Lawrence to retrieve their offspring.

Lawrence and Carly worked together to gain custody of Nikki and try to keep Vivian away. Vivian was not that easy to get rid of. With Victor's help, Vivian kidnapped Nikki and was sailing off. Lawrence interrupted Bo and Carly's wedding with the news and Lawrence and Carly took off to find the child. Bo decided not to get involved and left town on vacation with Shawn-D. Bo ended up finding Nikki. By the time they returned to Salem, Carly and Lawrence were reminiscing about the past.

Vivian became determined to kill Carly so she could keep Nikki. She framed Bo for beating up a petty thug and a highly publicized police brutality investigation ensued. While trying to find the real killer, Bo met Billie Reed. Eventually, evidence was found to clear Bo of all charges. Bo and Carly's relationship began to show signs of strain as Billie fell more and more in love with Bo.

Vivian was still determined to ruin Carly. Disguised as a nurse, she began killing Carly's patients by injecting them with cleaning fluid. When Vivian tried to inject Caroline Brady with Morphine, Carly caught her and was injected in a struggle. Once Carly was unconscious, Vivian injected her with herbs with a death-like paralysis effect. Carly was pronounced dead and was buried alive. Eventually, Vivian admitted this to Lawrence and he dug her up just in time. Carly suffered amnesia. With no memory of Salem or Bo or Lawrence's deceit from years earlier, Lawrence took advantage of this and kept her hidden at the Alamain Mansion.

Meanwhile, Bo and Billie were spending more time together. On a walk, they ran into Carly and Lawrence was forced to tell Bo the entire story. To keep Carly from leaving the country with Lawrence, Bo had her arrested or murdering her patients. Vivian soon confessed and Carly was released. Vivian was committed to Bayview Sanitarium.

Carly regained her memory, but still chose to go to Europe with Lawrence and Nikki.

This ended the Days of Bo and Carly.

JOHN BLACK AND MARLENA EVANS BLACK

Bandages covered his face, he didn't know why. John Black (a name he picked off of a Vietnam Memorial) was instantly attracted to the beautiful widow. Marlena continously asked questions, questions that received only fictious answers. After catching him in a few lies, Marlena confronted him and John admitted that he didn't know why his face had been bandaged. He also had no memory of who he was or why he was in Salem. Marlena promised to help him discover the truth. John began having memories flashes that led Marlena and others to believe John was either Stefano DiMera or Roman Brady, Marlena's dead husband. Stefano had the money and the means and the motive to change himself. But Marlena knew, as her feelings for this stranger grew stronger, that she could never have feelings for Stefano, the man that killed Roman. Together, John and Marlena decided to find the doctor that did the plastic surgery; the Doctor told Marlena that his life was in danger but, yes, he did have a before-photo of the man he operated on. Their search lead them to West Virginia where Marlena saw John's tatoo, a phoenix, Stefano's trademark. She was almost convinced that he was Stefano. Together, John, Bo and Marlena headed to West Virginia. After they discovered that the Doctor had been killed, John kidnapped Marlena and took her into the wilderness. He wanted time to explain, he wanted time to remember who he was and he needed Marlena's help.

Bo found them and was fighting with John when Marlena discovered the missing briefcase and the before-surgery photo. The photo was of Roman. Marlena rushed to the cliffside where John and Bo were fighting. Finally, when all her shouts went unanswered, Marlena screamed to Bo "it's Roman!" Bo was close to killing John when he finaly heard Marlena's screams.

It didn't take long for John/Roman to resume his life as Roman Brady. The twins were still babies and although Carrie was cautious, he had enough of Roman's memories to help make things easier.

John and Marlena, lived as man and wife. John went to work as a Lieutenant with the Salem Police Department and Marlena went back to work as a psychiatrist at the hospital. When Jennifer Horton called, explaining that a friend of hers was planning on committing suicide, Marlena tried to help, she talked him down, but ended up falling from the building herself. Marlena spent almost a month in a coma.

After Marlena's recovery, John and Marlena decided it was time to "renew" their vows. In front of familly and friends, John and Marlena, reaffirmed their love and started planning for a future together.

Marlena was then kidnapped by the ISA in order to get find treasury bonds Roman had hidden in Stockholm. Orpheus, an old ISA partner of "Roman's", wanted the bonds, but he wanted something else even more. REVENGE. During a routine mission, Roman and Orpheus were involved in a shoot out, during the shooting, Orpheus' wife entered the line of fire and was inadvertently shot by Roman. Orpheus wanted RoJohn to know the pain he felt, watching his wife die.

Orpheus blew up John and Marlena's house. Everyone believed Marlena was still in the house and was killed during the explosion. But Orpheus had actually kidnapped Marlena and was holding her prisoner. He knew that Roman/john would discover that Marlena was not dead and come looking for her.

During a fight, Roman/john killed Orpheus and then rushed to the airport where Marlena was being taken. Roman/john arrived just in time to watch the plane Marlena was on crash into the ocean. Roman/john returned home, convinced that his wife was dead.

A heart broken Roman/John began to move on with his life.

After being in a drug induced coma for several years, Marlena returned to Salem. She searched for Roman and arrived at her home in time to watch Roman proposing to Isabella. She quickly left the area. Roman/john however sensed that something was happening. He followed his instincts, which led him to the pier where he and Marlena were united.

After settling down in the master bedroom (Roman/john took the guest room). Marlena began having some memories of her captivity on Stefano's island. She insisted that Roman was there and she couldn't understand why he left her behind. Roman/john told her that he had never been to Stefano's island and he most certainly would not have left her there.

Many questions needed to be answered, answers that would explain what had happened to Marlena during those missing years. Their search first lead them to Stefano's island where Marlena was confronted by a many who looked like Roman, Marlena fainted from the shock. There was an immediate confrontation between Roman and John. Both insisting that they were the one and only Roman Brady. Roman, Marlena and John (along with Bo, Carly and Isabella) went in search of Stefano. Their search took them to Mexico. There they discovered the true meaning behind the "Pawn". John was indeed John Black, or whatever alias he wanted to use. Stefano tossed a briefcase into the fire (just before he was shot). The briefcase supposedly contained everything there was to know about the man everyone thought, for the past several years, was Roman Brady. The only items salvaged from the fire were a scorched partial photograph of a woman and part of a locket.

Marlena knew that her heart would always belong to Roman and she vowed to remain faithful. Before they left Mexico, Abe arrived. Marlena was scared and confused and Roman was angry that everyone seemed to accept this impostor so quickly. Marlena said it best to Abe just before heading back to Salem.

"You're free to love both of them, I'm not."

Marlena and John separated to make way for Roman, but remained good friends. They both still harbored a strong love for each other. Although he loved Marlena, John was also very much in love with Isabella (see John and Isabella) who was very pregnant with his baby. John and Isabella were soon married but not too long afterwards, Isabella died from pancreatic cancer. John was alone and seemed lost. Marlena tried to comfort her friend. Roman adjusted well to John as a friend and in many ways thought of him as a brother. He never seemed to mind the amount of time Marlena spent with him.

When Marlena was kidnapped by Stella Lombard and trapped in a pit, John was the one that was able to save her. They were both trapped, together, for a short time, and the strenght John provided helped to rekindled old feelings, but they managed to control them.

Soon, John realized that he could no longer hide his feelings for Marlena and new the only way to stop himself from hurting both Marlena and Roman was for him to leave Salem. When Marlena discovered that John was leaving (because of her) she headed for the airport to talk him out of going. They made love on the airplane before Marlena returned home only to find that Roman had planned a surprise Anniversary party for her. Marlena vowed never to be unfaithful to Roman again but John wasn't going to make it easy on her. He knew that she loved him, wanted him as much as he loved and wanted her.

At a party celebrating the first publication of Bella Magazine, John and Marlena made love again in the conference room. Neither John or Marlena realized it at the time but Marlena's daughter, Sami, was nearby watching.

Several months later when Marlena discovered she was pregnant she was extremely upset, although Roman had talked about more children, they both loved the idea of having time alone together. The hardest part of all was that Marlena wasn't sure who the father was-Roman or John.

She later gave birth to Isabella (Belle) Brady. Marlena's older daughter, Sami, discovered John was Belle's biological father and kidnaped the baby to hide the truth from Roman. On Christmas Eve, Belle was found and returned to Marlena.

Stefano DiMera always had his hands in things, was able to get his hands on Sami's diary and knew that John was Belle's natural father. During Belle's baptism, Stefano was about to announce Belle's paternity and Marlena's affair with John when Marlena confessed. Roman refused to talk about what had a happened and immediately filed for divorce and left Salem. John was now seeing Kristen Blake, so he did not pursue a relationship with Marlena.

Stefano's obsession with Marlena met new heights when he called on evil spirits to help him win her over. The devil was able to possess Marlena's soul. As the devil, Marlena tried many time to seduce John, but never succeeded. John discovered that he was a priest(???) and as a priest, was allowed to perform an exorcism. Near the end, Marlena appeared dead, but John's faith and true love for her were able to save her.

Late in the year, Tony DiMera discovered that he had a terminal disease and decided to commit suicide and frame John in the process. Tony shot himself and successful framed John for murder. John was convicted and sentenced to die in the gas chamber. Although John was still involved with Kristen, Marlena stood by John and never lost faith in him. John was reprieved at the last moment when Tony's journal, detailing his plans to frame John was brought to light.

Marlena discovered she still had very strong feelings for John. She refused to tell him because she believes he is interested in her only for friendship. John continued to see Kristen and Marlena watched as she discovered more and more about Kristen.

Again, Marlena was taken hostage by Stefano and held in a cage until John finally came to her rescue. Marlena and John haven't been able to hold on to each other for quite a while, neither has verbalized their feelings. During her captivity, Marlena kept a diary, a diary which John has never read.

Kristen proving to be a true DiMera kept John and Marlena from each other's arms. However, as always is Salem, Ture Love prevailed (cough cough) things qworked out and John and Marlena were once again together. Years of ups and downs, followed. John had an affira with Hope as princess Gina. John was a priest, a art theif, a isa agent, I am sure I am forgetting some things.

John and Marlena were already happily married when Rex and Cassie were found by Shawn and Belle. They literlly came from the sky. Marlena immediately became invovled trying to help them remember who they were. A tatto on both them once put together was a picture of the pheonix...STEPAHO! This didn't stop Marlena at all for she felt a special bond towards the twins. Not surprising as it came out that Marlena was their mother. She began to remember giving birth to them. Who was their father? Stephao? Nope, Stephano had her artificially inseminated with Roman's spermies. But wait, Marlena wasn't the mommy. She gave birth to them yes, but she was implanted with fertilized eggs. Marlena was the host. Who's eggs were they? Where did these kids come from? Kate Roberts, that's who. Roman and Kate were the biological parents of the twins.

Still reeling from these revelations Salem was struck once again with tragedy. The Salem Stalker began attacking and murdering many beloved Salemites. No one could figure out who it was. Whenever someone came close, they were murdered. Who was this evil Salemite? Marlena that's who. John refused to believe she could be so vile. He believed perhaps she was possessed by the devil, again. Nope wasn't that. While in jail Marlena tried to escape and was shot, she "died" in John's arms. Once again John was left to start a new life.

With Roman dead as a result of the salem stalker and Marlena now dead, John and Kate consoled eachother. Eventually all the so-called victims of the salem stalker were found and retunred to Salem. With Roman and John entering the airport to head home to their partners they saw John and Kate. Kate was wearing an engagement ring, from John!

Of course this didn't matter to John, his beloved Doc was home. The foursome continued their lives. Until Marlena found out she was pregnant, as a result of a night with Roman while being held captive. After she told John Roman was the father not him an argument ensued and Marlena fell down the stirs losing the baby. When she woke she had lost her memory. In comes Dr.North, who looks exactly like the original Roman(played by same person hmmm....) Dr. North was to help Marlena regain her memory however he appears to want her for himself. Everytime Malrena seems to be gaining ground and having memories he erases them and the feelings that came with. He is brain wshing her. What will John do? Will love prevail this time?STAY TUNED TO FIND OUT....

STEVE (patch) JOHNSON AND KAYLA BRADY

Years later, in the merchant marines, best friends Steve and Bo Brady were smitten with the same girl: Britta Englund (Bo and Britta were lovers, but she loved Steve). Neither man knew she was really a spy. She tricked them into getting the same dagger tattoos- clues to the location of a hidden treasure in Stockholm. Britta tricked Bo into revealing secrets to the Soviet Government, and when he returned, he saw Steve in bed with Britta. He attacked Steve and knifed his eye out (later this was ammended and they referred to Bo "punching" out Steve's eye).

AND LATER...

Private investigator Bo Brady was on Savannah Wilder's trail. He was close to proving that her video cassette business was a front for Victor Kiriakis's drug smuggling business. Savannah decided it was time to get rid of Brady, and she hired a one eyed man named Steve Johnson to do the deed. Steve taunted Bo and Hope, threatening to kill them. (Naturally, the story moved on and Steve never had to actually kill them). His history with Bo made this an easy task for Steve.

Steve was all too happy to work for Emma and scare Kayla Brady- he was still bent on revenge against Bo, and Kayla was Bo's beloved sister. Kayla first laid eyes on Steve in Salem, at Shenanigan's , and was not impressed by Steve's treatment of her.

Most of the conflict in this love story arose because of Steve's troubled past. He shut Kayla out because he was too afraid to trust anyone- and claimed that they didn't belong with each other because they were from "two different worlds". Kayla saw through the pain and the mask Steve wore, and broke through to his heart. She fought him, and fought for their relationship every step of the way, until finally he admitted he loved her. Steve was "officially" still under suspicion for Harper's shooting and hiding out at Kayla's. On a hot summer night, they were alone at last and made love on the roof of Kayla's loft as Donna Summer's "Woman in Me" played in the background.

Steve and Kayla Marry: July 22 and 25, 1988

Days of Our Lives most touching wedding ever; Kayla regained her speech (she had regained her hearing thanks to surgery not long before) and she and Steve pledged their love and commitment to each other forever.

Their daughter, Stephanie Kay Johnson is born February 19, 1990

Kayla was on trial for marina's murder, but for this moment in time , amidst the chaos, she and Steve bonded with their bundle of joy. Steve wanted to name the baby after Kayla and Kayla wanted to name her after Steve- so they compromised.

EUGENE BRADFORD AND CALLIOPE JONES

It was a match made who knows where but it was obvious from the start that Eugene Bradford and Calliope Jones belonged together. Obvious to everyone that is, except for Eugene and Calliope. He was the eccentric, whimsical inventor. She was the unconventional, flashy fashion designer. Eugene was just recovering from the death of his wife, Trista, when he came head to head with Calliope Jones. As with many Salemites, there was an immediate clash.

He thought she was strange, she thought he was weird. Gene took one look at her flashy clothes and colorful makeup and knew instantly that this was one woman to stay away from.

Calliope sat back and listened to one of his psychic predictions and knew that this was one man she should avoid completely. Fate has a way of bring two like souls together. Fate and a matchmaker or two. Not normally a matchmaker, Marlena Evans realized how perfect Eugene and Calliope would be together, Alice Horton, Salem’s resident matchmaker, also saw how perfect they were for each other and Anna DiMera, never a matchmaker, really didn’t care but realized that if Calliope were happier than she would probably be more productive in providing Anna with new designs to put her name on.

Needless to say, between Alice, Marlena and Anna, Calliope and Eugene were spending more and more time together. After a while they started seeing each other differently. Calliope was no longer strange and Eugene was no longer weird. They realized that each was unique and maybe just maybe something might develop between them.

Eugene and Calliope didn’t have the upheaval that many Salemites suffered in their relationship, maybe they were too unique for others to get deeply involved. However, their friends did work to keep them headed in the right direction. They realized that Eugene and Calliope were extraordinary and that if they didn’t find love in each other, they may not find it at all.

At midnight on New Years Eve, Eugene Bradford and Calliope Jones joined hands in an outdoor ceremony surrounded by their friends. Friends were temporarily diverted as Emma Donovan attempted to have more of a showing at her wedding to Alex Marshall that same night. (Emma was only marrying Alex to stop from being deported and as usual, Alex was marrying Emma for money) Once guests realized they were at the wrong wedding they did something Emma was sure they’d never do...they walked out of the chapel while the ceremony was in progress.

Calliope’s dress (one of Gene’s inventions) lit up the aisle as they were pronounced husband and wife. The only drawback was the enormous amount of heat the dress generated and Calliope had to quickly get out of the dress before she caught on fire.

The Bradfords remained together and unusually happy for several years while they helped their friends deal with the chaos around them. Until one night when Eugene went down into his basement to work on an invention. Eugene’s notes described his invention as a time machine and it was his intent to travel through time fixing things that went wrong (sounds Quantum Leapish) and learning from the great minds of the past and future worlds.

Calliope remained steadfast. At first she wouldn’t believe that her Eug would leave her, she wanted to believe in his machine and that one day he would return. Finally, Calliope gave up hope and filed for divorce. Eugene was never seen again.

ROMAN BRADY AND MARLENA EVANS BRADY

She was the stubborn host of a radio call in show. Marlena didn't see herself in any danger but Roman Brady was the police sergeant assigned to protect her whether she wanted it or not. She was, after all, receiving threatening phone calls from the "Salem Strangler.". Regardless of what Marlena wanted Roman moved into her apartment, sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag and playing her shadow. Marlena was definitely not thrilled with this.

The first morning, Roman awoke to find Marlena standing nearby in a nightgown (a very short nightgown). All he could see was her legs. For a while aftrwards, especially when they were alone, Roman refered to Marlena as "Legs". As much as she dislike having him around, to protect her, she couldn't stop herself from smiling.

Protecting Marlena was probably the hardest job Roman ever had, or would ever have. She tried to duck him at every turn, she didn't like the way his "protection" seemed to interfere with her life and with the care of her patients.

It took a lot of doing but Roman finally convinced Marlena to leave town until the Strangler was under custody. Roman made arrangements for Marlena to spend time in Mexico and drove her to the airport. The following morning Marlena's body was found, strangled to death, on the floor of her apartment. Roman was heartbroken. He hadn't admitted it to her, but he had fallen in love with this beautiful, stubborn, beautiful, aggravating...and now she was dead. Why didn't she listen to him? He checked the flight records and found that Marlena never boarded the plane for Mexico. Relief ran through Roman as Don Craig was called in to identify the body. At first both, stricken with grief, were convinced that Marlena was yet another victim of the "Salem Strangler" until Don noticed something a scar from an appendix operation was missing. After a little research Roman verified that it wasn't Marlena but her twin sister, Samantha, that was lying on the morgue table.

Roman quickly learned that Marlena had flown to Colorado to visit her parents instead of going to Mexico. Upon learning that Samantha was dead Marlena flew back to Salem. Nothing Roman could say would stop her. Marlena was determined to find the man that killed her sister and she was equally determined to make sure that Samantha was the strangler's last victim. Roman convinced Marlena not to go back to her apartment and instead she went to the Gatehouse she lived in before she married Don. Jake Kositchek a.k.a. the "Salem Strangler" knew almost immediately after killing Samantha that he had killed the wrong woman and followed Marlena to the Gatehouse. Roman arrived at the Gatehouse in time to stop Jake from killing Marlena. A struggle ensued and Jake pulled the trigger on Roman's pistol, killing himself. Marlena was safe and Roman was struggling with the guilt of killing another man.

After the dust settled, Roman and Marlena vacationed in Mazatlan and Roman finally admitted the extent of his love. At first, Marlena backed away from Roman. She was still shaken from her ordeal with Jake and the thought that she was responsible for her sister's death. However, when Marlena discovered two wine goblets which Roman quickly bought to symbolize their love, things quickly smoothed over. Marlena was afraid of being hurt again but slowly she opened up to Roman and thus the Roman/Marlena saga began After returning to Salem, Roman began the process of declaring his first wife, Anna, legally dead so he would be free to marry Marlena. He proposed to Marlena with flowers and wine and they quickly began planning a wedding. It had been a long year. The suddenly, back from the dead, Anna Brady appeared in Salem to divorce Roman and leave their four-year-old daughter, Carrie, with him. After the divorce, Roman took Marlena back to Mazatlan to celebrate.

Anna, quickly started work for Stefano DiMera, and she plotted with him to discredit Roman. Anna hypnotized Carrie to try and ruin Roman. However, nothing seemed to work.

On February 8, 1983, Roman and Marlena were married. Abe Carver stood by Roman as his best man and Eugene Bradford stood by Marlena as her "maid of honor". Marlena explained that a bride's closest friend was to stand up for her at her wedding and she couldn't think of anyone closer than Eugene. During the ceremony, an assassin hired by Stefano shot at the couple from the choir loft. Eugene, who was known for some rather peculiar behavior (he claimed to be psychic) "saw" the assasin in the choir loft and he and Chris Kositchek were able to catch him. No one was injured and the wedding continued.

Later, knowing that Stefano wouldn't rest as long as he was alive, Roman went undercover and Marlena left for honeymoon with ex-husband, Don Craig. While underground, Roman did get evidence on Stefano, but before he could get back to her he received word that Marlena and Liz Chandler had disappeared. Stefano held Marlena captive until Roman and Abe Carver were able to rescue them. Stefano was arrested and sent to prison, but he suffered a massive heart attack and died in jail.

Later in the year, Marlena witnessed a murder. She was convinced Roman was the killer. Roman was arrested, but insisted he was framed. Marlena stood by her husband even though she couldn't get past what she had seen. With the help of Bo, Alice Horton and her donuts, Roman escaped and went underground to search for the real killer. Andre DiMera, Tony's cousin, masquerading as Tony continued carrying out a finely planned series of murders. Roman later proved that Andre, wore a finely crafted mask of Roman every time he killed. To convince Marlena, Roman crafted a mask of Don, walked into his home and entered the bedroom. Roman explained the details of part of his plan to Marlena and then disappeared as quickly as he came.

Roman staged an explosion in order to convince everyone he was dead. Everyone believed he was dead, but he revealed the truth to Marlena and a few others at his own memorial service. Roman hid out in Eugene Bradford's basement where he learned Stefano was alive and back in Salem. Roman also discovered that everyone being killed was in some way connected to Stefano's declaration of death. Anyone who might know that Stefano were not dead was being killed.

While Roman was "dead" Marlena discovered she was pregnant. While she couldn't explain that the baby was Roman's (after all he was dead) Eugene claimed to be the father. Tom Horton arranged for a instant wedding and Eugene and Marlena were "Married". Roman eventually was able to return to the world of the living after he was able to provide the police with the evidence they needed and prove his innocence. During a car chase, Stefano's car plunged from a cliff. Although both he and his driver, Petrov, were in the car, no bodies were found.

In October, Marlena gave birth to twins, Eric Roman and Samantha Gene Brady.

Shortly after the birth of the twins Roman and several others went in search of Stefano. The plane crashed on Stefano's island involving Bo, Hope, Daphne DiMera and Tony. Daphne died from injuries sustained during the crash. Tony chased after Andre and Andre died after he was pulled under in the quicksand. Roman confronted Stefano on a cliff and Bo watched from a distance. Bo watched as Stefano shot Roman and Roman fell from the cliff. Roman died in Bo's arms. Bo heard Hope crying out for help and left Roman's body on the beach to rescue Hope. When he returned, Roman's body was gone.

This seemed to have ended the saga of Roman and Marlena.

They had a second chance. She was thought dead and she returned. Her instincts told her that Roman had visited her while she was held captive on Stefano's island. She went searching for answers and fainted at the sight of Roman. For years Marlena believed that Roman had been surgically altered and discovering that the man she thought was Roman, the man she loved was an imposter.

Roman had mixed feelings about returning home. The thought that someone could replace him so easily, that his family and more importantly, the woman he loved accepted the imposter so easily hurt. He felt betrayed.

Marlena knew in her heart that she was destined to spend forever with Roman. The love she had for him was still there.

Her feelings for John were secondary (or so she thought). John had Isabella, and Isabella was pregnant with John's child. Marlena's heart belonged to Roman. Their reunion was quiet and they quickly, maybe too quickly, returned to their previous lives. Roman took the position of Commander, a position John had earned as Roman, and Marlena soon returned to her practice as a Psychiatrist.

Roman and Marlena looked at their children, they had grown so much and Roman and Marlena realized how much they had missed. They talked about having another child but then thought about enjoying spending time alone together. Making up for the lost years.

Roman quickly went undercover, after promising Marlena that he would never leave her again. He was gone for months. He returned, undercover as a housekeeper. Marlena wasn't quick to forgive. It was Roman's work, very dangerous work that had separated them to begin with. Marlena wasn't happy to discover that Roman was the new housekeeper. He tried to explain that he needed to go undercover to catch the latest villian and to protect his family. It wasn't until after Bo was kidnapped that Marlena realized the seriousness of this particular case.

After Roman returned from his assignment Marlena was hesitant about welcoming him back. The fear of being left alone, having to deal with his death again was too much for her to handle. It took a while before Marlena she was able to open her heart and her arms to Roman. Finally she settled down and Roman and Marlena started planning a future together.

Roman began accepting the family's feelings towards John, he even accepted Abe's strong friendship. Roman began thinking of John as a friend and in many ways as a brother. He didn't see Marlena's pain. She was torn between the two men she loved. While Isabella was alive, it was easy for Marlena to control her feelings. She and Roman were trying to make up for lost time.

Shortly after Isabella died both Marlena and John realized that the feelings they had for each other were very real and very strong. John knew that he wouldn't be able to contain his feelings and didn't want to hurt Roman so he began planning to leave Salem. When Marlena discovered John's plans she headed for the airport to try and talk him out of leaving. Their passions over took them and John and Marlena made love on the airplane. John knew that he couldn't leave now, not knowing how Marlena felt.

Marlena ran home feeling wonderful but very guilty. Her guilt only increased when she walked straight into a surprise anniversary party. Roman's speech about his loving and faithful wife didn't help any. A couple of months later Marlena discovered that she was pregnant and wasn't sure who the father was.

Isabelle (Belle) Brady was born and Marlena carefully (without Roman or John's knowledge) began tests to discover paternity. What Marlena didn't know was that Sami knew about the affair and knew that John was Belle's father. Sami managed to switch the results and hid the truth. Sami made the mistake of keeping all the facts in her diary, a diary which Stefano managed to get his hands on.

On the day of Belle's christening, just as Stefano arrived at the church, Marlena finally confessed her affair to Roman.

Roman refused to listen and filed for divorce. He soon left Salem and hasn't been seen since.

This ended the saga of Roman and Marlena. Until 2005 ....coming soon

DOUG WILLIAMS AND JULIE OLSON HORTON

Brent Douglas arrived in Salem. He had no place else to go. Brent quickly changed his name to Doug Williams. He had been Bill Horton's cellmate in prison and decided that Salem would be the perfect place for him to pull off his next con. He was hoping to swindle money from unsuspecting rich women. Julie Olson had recently married Scott Banning to gain custody of her son, David. Scott had hired Susan Martin to babysit and Susan quickly found herself falling in love with Scott.

Susan also had a long standing grudge against Julie. Susan was in love with David Martin but David loved Julie. Susan wanted Scott for herself and hired Doug to have an affair and then break Julie's heart. Doug began flirting with Julie and she became very interested in this charming man. It soon became more than a game for Doug. They both quickly fell in love.

Julie's mother, Addie, returned from Paris after her husband, Ben, died. Julie began divorce proceedings so she would be able to marry Doug. Addie discovered Julie's affair and first tried to convince Julie to end the affair and make things right with Scott. Julie refused. Addie then tried to confront Doug, but she just ended up becoming attracted to him. Doug and Julie were ready to escape to Portofino as soon as Julie's divorce petition was filed. Julie suddenly insisted they take David with them. A heated quarrel ensued and Julie stormed out. Doug was shocked and had no idea Julie was bluffing.

Addie suddenly appeared and proposed to Doug. She promised him everything he wanted if he would end his affair with Julie and marry her. He accepted and they eloped to Portofino. When Julie found out, she set aside the divorce petition and remained married to Scott.

Doug and Addie returned a happy couple. Addie immediately bought Sergio's, a club that Doug had worked at as a singer and renamed it, DOUG'S PLACE. Although Doug and Julie still had feelings for each other, they hid them well.

Early in the year, Scott was killed by a falling beam at Anderson Manufacturing. Bob and Phyllis Anderson felt responsible and gave Julie much needed support. Julie was very emotional realizing she was now free and Doug was not. It didn't help matters much to find out that Addie was pregnant and was soon diagnosed with leukemia.

Julie and Addie settled their differences just before Addie slipped into a coma. Soon, Hope was born and Addie's leukemia was in remission. Julie was relieved that her mother was alright but was also heartbroken, she thought she would raise the child with Doug.

Bob Anderson had fallen in love with Julie. Bob proposed to Julie. She accepted for financial reasons, Bob was rich! She was still very much in love with Doug.

Soon after Hope was born, Addie was crossing the street with Hope in her carriage when a speeding car approached. The car struck Addie and killed her instantly. Hope would also have been killed except Addie pushed the carriage out of the way at the last second. Suddenly Julie became aware Doug was free and she was not. Julie and Bob's marriage quickly went downhill and she again considered divorce.

Julie filed for divorce, but soon found she was pregnant with bob's child. When Doug found out she was pregnant, he told her that he no longer loved her and sent her back to Bob. Julie remained separated from Bob and lived in Doug's guest room.

David had been presumed dead in a car accident. When he was discovered to be alive and living with the Grant family, Julie realized that David needed time to himself. She argued with Brooke Hamilton, David's fiancee and fell down the steps. Julie suffered a miscarriage and she and Bob soon divorced.

Kim Douglas arrived in Salem looking for her estranged husband, Brent Douglas. This put a quick damper on his engagement to Julie and Julie began seeing Don Craig. Doug ended up staying with Kim and Julie became engaged to Don Craig. After a car accident Doug was taken to hospital the day Julie was to get married to Don. Julie didn't show up for the wedding, she went to be by Doug's side. Later, Kim admitted she was lying and both she and Don realized that Doug and Julie would never be happy with anyone else.

They were finally married! Doug and Julie raised Hope as a family, sort of. For alot of Hope's life she lived with her grand mother, Alice Horton. After many hi's and low's Doug and Julie remained together in the end until the Salem Stalker took Doug;s life. Julie couldn't get over losing Doug. When the truth about the Salem Stalker was revealed and Doug returned home Julie and Doug picked up from where they left off and didn't miss a beat.

MICKEY AND MAGGIE HORTON

Maggie Simpson was watching out over her farm when a stranger wandered onto the farm. He was dazed, unshaven and confused. The stranger was actually Mickey Horton, he had lost his memory and wasn't sure where he was or who he was. Looking at his belt buckle he saw the initials MH and created the name Marty Hansen. Offering to work for room and board, Maggie quickly realized that this stranger was someone that she could easily become interested in.

Marty and Maggie were married and soon discovered that they would not be able to have children together. Neither seemed discouraged by the idea and quickly began the paperwork to adopt a little girl, Janice. Life on the Simpson farm was simple and peaceful and Marty loved working with the land and the animals. He took great pride in the blue ribbon he won at the state fair. That blue ribbon eventually brought Mickey home.

Julie Anderson, Mickey's neice, saw a photo of Marty Hansen with his blue ribbon in a local paper and took it to her grandparents.

Maggie helped Marty deal with the flood of memories, triggered by winning the ribbon, and the family he didn't know. Maggie stayed even though Mickey was married to Laura. Maggie had spent much of her life on crutches, crippled by an accident that killed her parents when she was fifteen. Maggie and Marty seemed encouraged when Bill Horton (mickey's brother0 began talking about a new surgical technique that could restore Maggie's ability to walk. Mickey/Marty immediately bought Maggie a pair of red shoes, promising that she would wear them the first time they went dancing. Bill operated on Maggie and only time would tell whether or not the operation would be a success.

When Mickey/Marty discovered that his son Mike wasn't his son, but the son of his brother Bill, he totally lost it. He shot Bill and tried to kill Laura. He He was locked away at a Sanitarium. Still, Maggie stayed by his side.

It took a few months but slowly Maggie began gaining control over her legs and after extensive physical therapy, Maggie put on her red shoes and walked into Mickey's room at Bayview. As if she were a total stranger, Mickey didn't acknowledge this miraculous feat. Maggie left the sanitarium broken hearted but she never gave up. She moved to Salem and helped Mickey regain his life.

Maggie quickly adjusted to life in Salem and loved the idea of having family around as the Hortons opened up their hearts and their homes to her. Adjusting to the change in Marty was not as easy but she learned to call him Mickey just as she learned to be a lawyer's wife.

Laura filed for divorce and once both Mickey and Laura were free, Laura married Bill (again) and Mickey and Maggie planned another wedding and continued their plans to adopt Janice. After all was settled, Janice snug in her new home with new parents, life seemed perfect for Mickey and Maggie until Joanna Barnes showed up. Janice's mother decided she wanted her daughter back and began the paperwork to fight Mickey and Maggie in court. Maggie turned to the bottle because Mickey was too busy with paperwork, fighting Joanna, that he virutally ignored Maggie. After a car accident (drunk driving) and several similar incidents, Mickey realized that Maggie had a problem. She finally turned to AA but not before irreparable damage was done and they lost Janice to Joanna.

Mickey and Maggie slowly repaired their lives. The found a new house (the Lake House) and moved in. Yet, Maggie had this constant desire to have a baby of her own. She convinced Mickey to allow her to become a surrogate mother. She wanted children but more than anything she wanted to know what it was like to have a baby growing inside her. Neil Curtis arranged for the pregnancy and Maggie was thrilled. Later when they learned that the wife in couple that had arranged the pregnancy had died, Maggie had misgivings about giving up the baby.

Meanwhile, Neil was working to convince the father to allow Maggie to keep the baby. Evan Wyland had moved to Salem and had fallen in love with Maggie. It didn't take long for Maggie to figure out that Evan was the father. When Stefano arranged for Evan's death, Maggie was free to keep the baby (Sarah). Mickey wanted children as much as Maggie did and opened his heart and his home to his new daughter. Everything seemed to be perfect until Mickey was called to South America and "died" in a helicopter crash.

Trapped on an island by Stefano DiMera, Mickey had no way of knowing that his family and friends thought him dead. The last thing he expected to find was Maggie in the arms of his best friend (see the story of Don and Maggie). Mickey barely survived a heart attack after finding Maggie and Don together. Maggie quickly realized that although she loved Don Craig, her heart would always belong to Mickey.

As we all know they worked this problem out like so many before and so many that followed. Being one of Salem's staple couples, it was a shock when Maggie was "murdered" by the Salem stalker. Mickey was devastated to lose his darling Red. Being bside himself with grief he didn't realize that Bonnie Lockhart, his housekeep, wasn't just being a supportive friend, she was hitting on him. In time, Mickey began to have feelings for Bonnie and the two became engaged. Mickey had no idea that Maggie was still alive and being kept with all the other Salem Stalker victims on an island under the control of Tony Dimera.

Bonnie and Mickey were married, then Maggie appeared. Although the marriage wasn't really legal Mickey seemed confused and didn't know who to choose. He didn't want to hurt Bonnie nor did he want to hurt Maggie. Maggie moved into the house with Mickey and Bonnie. Eventually Mickey chose Maggie. They renewed their wedding vows and Mickey bought her a new restaurant as a wedding gift. To replace the one Bonnie tunred into a country bar.
