BRYAN DATTILO - Lucas Roberts

CLICK FOR CHARACTER BIO...

Bryan, who uses his middle initial, R., to honor his late grandfather, Ronald Harbour, who himself always dreamed of a career on stage, was born in Kankakee, Illinois. He moved with his mother, Peggy, sister, Kristin, and brother, Brent, to Florida when he was only two years old. His mother worked as a newspaper reporter, and when Bryan was eight, the family moved to Los Angeles. They remained there until Bryan's 11th birthday, when the same company transferred his mother back to Florida. He later moved with his family to Beverly Hills, where he attended Beverly Hills High School.

When Bryan Dattilo walked out on the playground of his Beverly Hills grade school for the very first time, all the kids wanted to know who his agent was. To Bryan's chagrin, his mom pointed out that only kids who were actors had agents. Within a few weeks, Bryan and his sister, Kristin, decided that if they were to fit in at school, they too, needed an agent.

Being the smallest kid in his class, with a face like an angel, framed by a blond bowl haircut, Bryan began acting classes and within a year had his very own Hollywood agent.

Shortly after signing with The Savage Agency, Bryan landed a recurring role on HBO's "Not Necessarily The News." Commercials and other TV spots soon followed, and Bryan was well on his way to becoming an actor.

Bryan says that moving back to California was a good experience for him. Living in Beverly Hills and riding around town in the back of a limo provided a unique lifestyle. But he soon found out on his return to Florida that riding around in the back of his friend's pick-up truck with his buddies could be just as much fun.

The Dattilos remained in Florida for nearly three years, but returned once again to California when his mother decided to break loose from her career in journalism and start her own television and film company, Harbour Lights Entertainment. This provided an opportunity for Bryan to return to the acting world, and within a couple of weeks, he and his sister landed lead roles in the feature film "The Adventures of Grizzly Adams."

It was during this time that Bryan first began watching "Days of Our Lives," and dreaming of one day appearing as an actor on the show. Bryan spent 11 weeks in Utah filming a feature, and during his time off, he'd wander into his grandmother's hotel room while she was watching "Days." Before he knew it, he too had become a fan. So when Bryan landed the part of Lucas Roberts on "Days," he couldn't wait to phone his Gran and tell her the good news. It was a dream come true for Mary Harbour, who's only worry now is trying to figure out where to store all the tapes on which she records her grandson's daily performances.

Bryan first appeared on Days on April 4, 1993. He is known as a big practical joker on the Days set. He doesn't like props like fake hands or slime. He prefers to just play mind games on people.

Bryan graduated from Beverly Hills High School and attended Santa Monica College right up until the day he began taping his first "Days" episode. He majored in Psychology, hoping to become a psychologist, if a career in acting didn't pan out. Bryan feels that studying Psychology gives him an insight into people and what makes them tick. This, he says, helps him to understand what his character Lucas is all about.

Bryan says, "Lucas is a kid who thinks that the way to a person's heart is to tell them what they want to hear. He learned to look out for number one during his years away at military school, and now that he's in Salem, that's the only way he knows how to act. He's had to fend for himself most of his life, and he's angry at his mother for not being there for him while he was growing up. He's a kid with a good heart, but he has to learn to relate to people in the outside world."

Besides acting, Bryan's other passion is baseball. He played throughout high school and college, and would love to have been a pro. Landing the role on "Days of Our Lives" has been a double blessing for Bryan. The first week of taping, the show's executive producer Ken Corday, approached Bryan wanting to know if he played baseball. It turns out that Corday has a passion for the game, too, and Bryan signed up in a jiffy to play on the "Days" softball team. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world. I'm doing the two things I love most in my life, acting on my favorite soap, and playing baseball!"

His "roommates" live in a six-foot salt water fish tank he keeps in the living room of his apartment. He also has a black Labrador named Vinnie, whom he takes to a dog sitter when he goes to work. At the doggy day camp, Vinnie enjoys playing with other dogs and relaxing while watching TV. Bryan says he used to leave a note and his 8x10 black and white photo on the car windshields of girls he found attractive. It worked like a charm and got him many dates.

BO BRADY CHARACTER BIO...

Although raised by Caroline and Shawn, Bo's biological father is Victor Kiriakis. Throughout the years, especially during his childhood, Bo had a conflicting relationship with Shawn and the two fought constantly. When his paternity was revealed, "father and son" were finally able to put their differences aside and build a healthy relationship. Meanwhile, Bo continued his up-and-down relationship with his natural father, Victor Kiriakis.

In early adulthood, Bo was a motorcycle riding, ex-Merchant Marine who was highly sought after by the lovely ladies of Salem. This leather-jacket-wearing bad boy only had eyes for uptown-girl, Hope Williams. They fell in love when Hope was just 17 years old and formed a lasting bond that would transcend all adversity. After several years as a crime fighting duo, Bo and Hope tied the knot. They had one child, Shawn-Douglas, and sailed around the world on their boat, "Fancy Face," shortly after his birth. Years later, both Bo and Hope got involved with the underhanded dealings of Ernesto Toscano. Both Ernesto and Hope were caught in a massive explosion in 1987 and she was presumed dead.

Devastated by the loss of his soul mate, Bo returned to Salem and searched for comfort in the arms of friends and family. He nearly married Dr. Carly Manning before turning his attention to the young Billie Reed. Billie was a recovering drug addict and prostitute who Bo took under his wing. The couple formed a meaningful bond and eventually got married. It wasn't until after the wedding that "Gina" arrived in Salem. It was later revealed that Gina was Hope Williams and when she started to win back Bo's love, Billie left for Europe and their marriage was declared illegal.

Billie returned from Paris in time to stop a second marriage between Bo and Hope. During an undercover operation to expose an illegal drug ring, Bo and Billie were forced to remarry in order to make their front believable. They consummated their marriage and Billie became pregnant with baby Georgina, who unfortunately died at birth. Later, Billie lead Hope into believing that she was the reason for her miscarriage in order to keep her from getting back together with Bo.

Meanwhile, Bo discovered "swamp girl" while in the Bayou. Bo was shocked to learn that she knew many secrets about Hope's past. In fact, she was the person who took Hope's place in the cage at Ernesto's. She was damaged in the explosion while Stefano DiMera took Hope to safety. Later, Stefano and his evil henchmen planted a chip in Hope's head to secretly transform her into Princess Gina. Bo brought the swamp girl, who would later be known as Greta Von Amberg, back to Salem where she underwent plastic surgery to repair her scarred face. Bo launched an operation to rescue the real Hope from Stefano's clutches and he and a group of Salemites traveled to Paris.

As part of his evil plan to steal valuable Renet paintings, Stefano used a brainwashed Hope (Princess Gina) to try to destroy Bo. He was captured by Kurt and almost burned alive in a warehouse but managed to escape. After a long ordeal, Bo was reunited with Hope but it was really Princess Gina who had pulled a switch and traveled back to Salem while Hope remained captive in Paris. Back home, Shawn instinctively felt that something was different about his mother but Bo was too blinded with love to identify the imposter. The two married and soon after, "Hope" attempted to kill Shawn and Marlena and was fatally shot in the process. The truth came out and Bo rushed back to Paris to rescue the real Hope.

Hope and Bo were reunited back in Salem. When Hope revealed that she was pregnant, Bo was overjoyed even though he thought that the baby was not his. When Hope gave birth, Stefano had Rolf switch the baby with that of Rolf's drunken niece, Marlo. Lexie and Abe adopted Marlo's baby (switched with Hope's), Isaac, and Bo and Hope raised JT, who suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Meanwhile, the paternity of Hope's baby remained still in question. Both John and Stefano both felt that they were the father and were determined to learn the truth.

Bo went to Ireland, where he investigated the Brady/DiMera vendetta. He walked into trouble there and was saved by Jennifer Horton. They managed to escape and boarded a boat for Salem, which was sabotaged. They almost drowned, but were rescued by a cruise ship. When he returned to Salem, Hope confessed to Bo that he was not the baby's father but she neglected to tell him the truth about John. Despite her confession, their love was stronger than ever and they planned another wedding. On Christmas Eve, Bo and Hope exchanged vows in front of friends and family in a picture perfect ceremony.

Bo and Hope then focused their attention on raising JT, only to learn about the baby switch. They were finally reunited with the real baby, Zack, and learned that Bo was his father. They also survived the outcome of their older son Shawn's problems his senior year in high school, when he claimed to be the father of a fellow student's baby. Eventually, the truth came out about that and Shawn and his girlfriend Belle reconciled and are going to college at Salem University.

Bo and Hope focused their attention on raising JT, only to learn about the baby switch. They were finally reunited with the real baby, Zack, and learned that Bo was his father. They also survived the outcome of their older son Shawn's problems his senior year in high school, when he claimed to be the father of Jan, a fellow student's baby. Eventually, the truth came out about that and Shawn and his girlfriend Belle reconciled.

Bo was forced to live without his beloved Hope when she has traveled to Iowa to be with baby JT while he underwent a surgery. When she was on her way home, she was kidnapped by Larry Welch, who Hope had helped to send to prison. He held her prisoner for some time and Bo only secured her release after putting together an elaborate ruse to catch the kidnapper. Bo and Hope were reunited, but Hope suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder from her ordeal and for months thought she could see Larry, who Bo was sure was dead. Meanwhile, Colin Murphy was shot and killed during Victor and Nicole's New Year's Eve wedding. Both Hope and Shawn thought they were responsible; it turned out that Shawn had shot at Colin, but he didn't kill him. Finally, Larry Welch overplayed his hand and Bo caught him. While he was in jail, Victor blackmailed him into admitting to killing Colin Murphy.

Bo noticed that a lot of criminals seemed to be getting off on technicalities in Salem. When it hit close to home and drug dealer Vin Ramsell was set free after trying kill Shawn, Bo had enough. He quit the force and went off on his own, eventually bringing Ramsell in. After this, he and Hope decided to work together as bounty hunters. In order to finance this new gig, they made the heartbreaking decision to sell their boat, the Fancy Face. They had some success in their bounty hunting gig, then went off to track down the source of some mysterious goop that Tony DiMera was after. They barely made it back in one piece from this adventure -- after displeasing the DiMeras by blowing up the goop -- then were attacked and almost killed at the Basic Black fashion show.

When the Salem Stalker went on her murderous rampage, Bo lost some of his closest friends and family members, including his mother and his brother. He rejoined the police force, as did Hope, and after Roman's death was made police commander. Although he never suspected her, when it turned out that Marlena was the Stalker, he was quick to arrest her and throw her in jail. After all the murders, Bo's son Shawn felt the need to leave town to clear his head. Bo lent him his motorcycle, but then Shawn disappeared.

Of course, all the victims weren’t really dead. They were being held captive by Tony DiMera on a tropical island recreation of Salem. After Jennifer figured out that Jack was still alive, it wasn’t long before half of the still-living Salemites, including Bo, had shown up on the island to rescue their loved ones. Despite Tony’s conniving -- which included a volcanic explosion -- most of them managed to escape. Unfortunately, Roman, Marlena, Cassie, Jack, Victor and Caroline were “killed;” really Tony recaptured them and took them to a remote European castle.

Bo got another surprise on the island -- Billie Reed! When they returned to Salem, they made another shocking discover; their daughter Georgia, whom they believed was stillborn, is still alive! The search is on to find the now-teenaged girl and they’ve gotten plenty of clues, all of them dead-ends. One little problem – the search has meant neglecting Hope and his sons and she is none too happy about it. Shawn is running wild and Hope is getting jealous. She’s even given him an ultimatum – if anything happens to Shawn while Bo is out searching for Georgia, their marriage is over. Unfortunately, this hasn’t stopped him yet. Recently Bo and Billie found their daughter. She had lived in Salem all her life and is in fact Abby Deverauex's best friend, Chelsea Benson. It's rocky but I am sure it will be fine LOL NOT!

SHAWN DOUGLAS BRADY CHARACTER BIO...

Shawn Brady was born to Bo and Hope Brady. Shortly after his birth, the Bradys left on a three-year cruise around the world. Although he spent a good portion of his life without Hope, he formed bonds with several "step-moms." The Brady's were put through quite an ordeal when Shawn was kidnapped by Stefano DiMera's thugs. Stefano planned to "save" the boy and thereby make himself out to be a hero. Shawn escaped, however, before Stefano's devious plan was carried out. Later, Shawn's jacket was found floating in the river and the Brady household braced themselves for the worst. Bo launched a search for his son and was relieved to find him still alive.

When Hope made the transition to Gina, she sent Shawn to the Westborough Academy. Shawn "broke out" of the boarding school and returned to Salem with a new bad-boy look and attitude to match. Back at home, Shawn openly voiced his concerns about his "mother." He sensed that something wasn't right about "Hope" but his father was too blinded by love to see the truth. Later, Gina/"Hope" forced Shawn to jump over the balcony during a wedding reception party at the Penthouse Grill. Shawn was injured and rushed to the hospital. Later, when "Hope" died, they found out that she was really Gina and Hope might still be alive. Shawn accompanied his father and family back to France to find his mother. The real Hope returned to Salem and Bo and Shawn enjoyed a more stable family life.

At Salem High, Shawn established himself as a dominant force. He won the attention of the girls and initially made an enemy of Philip Kiriakis, over their competition over Belle Black and then Chloe Lane. Eventually, Shawn and Philip became the best of friends. Shawn and Belle went to the Last Blast Dance as friends and, afterwards followed Mimi to a back alley and discovered that she was homeless. They enlisted the help of Habitat for Humanity to build her family a new home.

The next year at the Last Blast, Shawn and Belle had their first official date -- as a couple, not just as friends. The following summer, Shawn and Belle joined some other teens from Salem High on a trip to Puerto Rico, where they were supposed to study the environment. Instead, they went on an adventure to find some missing jewels, including a ruby belonging to Alice Horton. Much to the dismay of the criminally-minded Paul, the teens were successful and Shawn was able to return the ruby to his grandmother. During the trip, he and Belle also came very close to making love.

When they returned to Salem, Shawn found himself involved in Jan's tragic story. He claimed he was the father of the baby she conceived when Paul raped her on the island. Belle was heartbroken, but Shawn had promised to stand by Jan and not to tell anyone how she really became pregnant. By the end of their senior year, the truth came out, but Belle was still not very forgiving. Eventually, at the Last Blast Dance, they made tentative steps toward a reconciliation. Through the summer, they grew closer, as they took care of their new "friends," Rex and Cassie, who had apparently fallen out of the sky. Shawn had planned on going away to college, but he and Belle both decided on starting their college careers at Salem University. The beginning of college can be stressful, and that has proven to be true as these two young lovebirds had some trust issues left unresolved from the Jan experience and brought back to the surface over Belle's need to protect Rex and Cassie. Then Shawn's mother and baby brother were kidnapped, helping the two of them to put aside their seemingly petty problems and reunite. They eventually exchanged purity rings, declaring their commitment to one another and to waiting until marriage to have sex.

The return of Philip Kiriakis threw a wrench into Shawn and Belle's relationship. The two were on the outs when Belle decided to do a reality dating show with Mimi and Cassie, Love is Blind. The mysterious suitor chose Belle for his final date and when he removed his mask, he was revealed to be Philip!

Shawn moved out of the dorm and into the loft next door to Belle, then started working part-time for his Uncle Mickey, who thought he would make a fine lawyer one day. He helped out in a case with a mysterious woman named Maya who had ties to Tony and a mysterious goop. His parents tracked down the goop and were almost killed in the process, only to return to Salem and really put their lives in danger during Belle's Basic Black fashion show.

Unbeknownst to most of Salem, Jan Spears returned. She passed her time stalking Shawn and planning how to remove Belle from the picture and get him for herself.

The murder spree of the Salem Stalker saw many of Shawn's closest relatives killed. Much to his dismay, the murderess turned out to be none other than Marlena, Belle's mother. Belle had even provided the alibi for her mother, a turn of events that was partially responsible for Shawn's great-grandmother Alice being killed. Things certainly didn't look good for Shawn and Belle and he decided to get out of Salem for awhile and clear his head. This played right into Jan's hands. Her alter ego old lady lured him to her country home, where she caged him as her love slave.

Shawn remained in the cage for months, with Jan tormenting him with images of Belle with his best friend Philip. He watched them grow progressively closer, until he could take it no more and escaped. Unfortunately, Jan caught up with him again and took him hostage, forcing him to watch Belle and Philip at the Green Mountain Lodge, where it looked as if they had made love. Shawn made it away again and raced back to the Lodge, hoping to find Belle before she went any further with Philip. He didn’t make it back to Salem. On the way, he crashed his motorcycle and was rushed to the hospital. When he woke up after surgery, all he could remember was his anger at Belle and Philip. Much to his friends’ surprise and chagrin, he asked for Jan!

It seemed that Shawn’s personality had changed completely. He couldn’t remember anything about the last few months, so Jan told him – and everybody else – that they’d spent the summer having hot sex and doing little else. And they were engaged. And Shawn was drinking. A lot. Shawn didn’t know how it had all happened, but he believed Jan. Eventually, though, he realized that he still loved Belle. Unfortunately, he didn’t fully realize it until the night of her wedding to Philip. Kate, who feared Shawn would try something, had the church completely locked up. Crazed Shawn drove his motorcycle through the stained glass wedding, very nearly killing Belle and himself in the process. And he didn’t even get there in time to stop the wedding! He was arrested, however, and tested positive for both drugs and alcohol. Thanks, Jan.

Belle and Shawn’s love, though, could still not be denied. He seemed to have gotten his act together and Belle realized that she did still love him. Before she could tell her new husband she was in love with another man, Philip’s Marine unit shipped out. Shawn pressured her into telling Philip over the phone, knowing she couldn’t commit to him until she’d broken things off with her husband. Before she had a chance to, however, Philip was taken hostage. Belle was devastated and felt extremely guilty.

When neither the Marines nor the ISA could manage to rescue Philip, Shawn knew there was only one thing he could do. He would have to rescue Philip himself. He talked Rex, Brady and Lucas into going with him, and with the help of John’s rescue plan that Rex had conveniently hacked off the computer, they took off behind enemy lines.

The boys made it back from emeny lines. Phillip lost a leg and Belle stayed married to him with the intention of waiting until he recovered. She found out she was pregnant and stayed with Phillip leaving poor Shawn all alone. Shanw and MImi Lockhart are now beginning a romantic relationship.

BRADY BLACK CHARACTER BIO...

Brady Victor Black was born on May 19, 1992 to John and Isabella Black. Isabella gave birth during the couple's wedding ceremony at St. Luke's Church in Salem. Dr. Marcus Hunter and Carly Manning assisted in the birth, which took place in one of the side rooms of the church. Brady was named after the Brady family, his middle name was given to him by his mother to honor her father Victor. Victor had to promise Isabella that he would be a good man, one Brady would be proud to call Grandfather.

Brady will be one weathly man when he grows up. He is Alamain by blood. His grandfather is Victor Kiriakis. His mother was Toscano by name, and his father runs the Toscano Foundation in her honor.

Brady manages the Blue Note, was Chloe Lane's Manager and wasEmployee at Basic Black.

He lived at the Kirakis masion after first moving from home to the loft where his biological mother and father lived. (belle and philip live there now) Brady is the only child of Isabella Toscano, and the oldest (known) child of John Black. As soon as he was old enough, he was sent away to private school, and rarely came home. He finally returned home on a college break, and decided not to return. It soon became obvious that he resented his father hooking up with Marlena mere months after his mother's death, and also resented Marlena's attitude towards him. More than once Marlena has shown that even though she raised him from an infant, he was never as important to her as her biological daughter, Belle. Frequent arguments and fights have ensued, culminating when Marlena became convinced that Brady was trying to kill Belle. After Belle was injured in a train track accident, Marlena became obsessed with having Brady sent to prison for a crime she was certain he committed. She fired Roman Brady up about the incident, and was indirectly responsible for the shooting fiasco that paralyzed Brady from the waist down. While Brady was getting the use of his legs back, but he is determined to get Marlena out of his father and half-sister's lives. He believes she's a bad influence (pointing to her failures with Eric and Sami), and has a lot of anger over the way she always chose her biological child over her husband's son.
Marlena and Brady were finally able to straighten out their problems. Marlena apologized for the way she had treated him, and Brady apologized for the way he treated her. He even called her 'Mom' a few times, but it wasn't long before his real mother came back into his life. Around the time his good friend Chloe was getting sick, Isabella's ghost began appearing to him, and it was her guidance that kept Brady by Chloe's side through everything, including her frequent battles with Philip, who was insanely jealous of Chloe and Brady's friendship. Chloe finally broke up with Philip for good, and turned to Brady. The two soon realised they were deeply in love, but their future could be threatened by Chloe's leukemia. Although Chloe is currently in remission, Brady has always felt that he doesn't have much time with her. He was right...she got an offer to sing in Europe, and Brady decided that the only way to get her to go was to use tough love. When she left, it broke his heart.
With Chloe gone, Brady moved back home with his grandfather. He soon involved himself in his grandfather's marriage to Nicole. Almost before he knew it, Brady found himself dreaming about Nicole instead of Chloe. But soon Brady saw through Nicole's sweetness act, and when Victor brought Chloe back to town for Christmas 2003, Brady knew that he had never let Chloe out of his heart. Chloe left Salem once again to further her career, and Brady turned his back on Nicole. Brady soon suffered a series of devastating losses though. First his grandfather was found dead in the bathtub, then Brady got news that Chloe had died in a horrible accident. Although initially he was devastated and couldn't forget about the loss of the woman he loved, he finally was able to open his heart up to Nicole. At the same time, he was thrilled to learn that Victor may be alive, and was part of the group that went to Melaswen to save the survivors. They were able to help some of the island captives, but unfortunately, Victor wasn't one of the survivors who made it back to Salem.
Brady began moving on toward a future with Nicole, but after an accident when Chloe visited him in the hospital, he began to realise he just couldn't put his love for her behind him, even though he had committed himself to Nicole. He became suspicious of Nicole when he started to think that Chloe might be alive, and when he realized she was, he blamed Nicole for Chloe's 'death', even though Chloe insisted that it was all her idea. Brady turned his back on Nicole completely and began to work on convincing Chloe that they could indeed have a life together, despite her scars. He even began trying to help her find a doctor could remove her scars. Chloe and Brady eventually got married and recentlly decided not to return to Salem following their Honeymoon.

LUCAS ROBERTS CHARACTER BIO...

Lucas Roberts came to Salem from military school. Upon arrival, he befriended Sami Brady and the two began to plot. Sami wanted Austin, who was in love with her sister Carrie, and Lucas wanted Carrie, who was in love with Austin. Lucas told Sami that if she lost some weight she might get Austin to notice her, so Sami went on a crash diet. Meanwhile, Lucas managed to convince Carrie to have plastic surgery on her scar so she could be Bella's Face of the 90s. Later, Lucas learned that his father was Bill Horton and that Austin and Billie Reed were his siblings.

When Lucas' friend from school Alan came to town, he raped Sami. Lucas helped Carrie try and trap Alan, but their plan failed and Carrie and Sami were both taken hostage. After Alan went to jail, Sami was teased by men and feared that nobody would ever love her. Lucas was also depressed about the fact that Carrie made it clear that they could only be friends. Both seeking comfort, they made love. Later, Sami drugged Austin and tricked him into sleeping with her by pretending to be Carrie. The next morning, Austin told Sami he made a mistake and they could not be a couple, so she ran away. Carrie learned that Austin had slept with someone else, but she didn't know who. Austin and Carrie were apart because they both suspected the other of being unfaithful.

After Lucas' mother Kate was apparently killed in a plane crash, he learned that Vivian had something to do with it and he blackmailed her into finding Sami and bringing her home in time to stop Austin and Carrie's wedding. Sami returned and revealed that she was pregnant with Austin's child. After Will was born, Lucas asked Sami if there was any way that the baby could be his. Sami said no.

On New Years Eve, Sami drugged Carrie's glass of champagne and carried her to bed. Lucas showed up drunk and when he passed out, Sami put him in bed with Carrie. Sami then arranged for Austin to see them in bed together. The next morning Carrie and Lucas were clueless as to how they ended up in bed. Austin gave Carrie the cold shoulder and told her that he saw her and Lucas in bed together. Carrie couldn't explain what had happened. Thinking it was over between her and Austin, Carrie began dating Lucas. Eventually, Kate learned everything Sami had done to break Austin and Carrie up and she exposed both Lucas and Sami. Carrie and Austin were reunited.

When Austin accidentally backed his car into Sami, she fell into a deep coma. When she finally woke back up, she had amnesia and couldn't recall the last four years. Lucas decided to use the situation to his own advantage and convinced Sami that she and Austin lived together. He told her to go home to Austin and surprise him. When she did, she found a woman's negligee and lipstick in the apartment and thought Austin was cheating on her. She accused Carrie of stealing her husband. Austin and Carrie convinced Sami that he wasn't cheating on her. Sami moved in with Austin. Eventually, she began to recall her past, but kept silent when Lucas urged her not to tell Austin. She believed Austin really loved her and wanted to tell him the truth, but Lucas convinced her otherwise. He got Sami to help him with a new plot, that of convincing Austin that Carrie was falling in love with Mike Horton. Lucas thought that once Austin gave up on Carrie, he could easily steal her from Mike. Once Austin was free, Sami was planning to steal him from Carrie.

Eventually, the truth came out. Will was not Austin's son, but Lucas'. Austin and Carrie were married and Lucas finally realized that Carrie and Austin did belong together. Sami, however, was hurt and bent on getting revenge. Lucas learned that Sami was blackmailing his mother, but Kate refused to tell him what Sami had on her.

Lucas and Sami began to get on one another's nerves and both plotted to get rid of the other. Sami caused trouble by telling Austin that Lucas drank too much and Austin began checking in on his brother. Sami found Lucas passed out on the floor with Will missing. Desperate, Sami called Austin. They found Will and Lucas insisted he wasn't drunk, he had just fallen asleep. Sami declared that Lucas had hit Will. They went to court and Sami got custody of their son. When Lucas was caught in an unsupervised visit with Will, Sami got a restraining order against him, swearing he'd never see his son again. After Sami and Franco became engaged, Lucas refused to let Franco become Will's stepfather. He wouldn't have to worry about that too long. Franco was murdered and Sami was charged with the crime, although Lucas had actually done the deed. Sami was tried and almost put to death, but Lucas, after having a fit of conscious, ran in at the last moment and stopped the execution.

Lucas fell in love with Nicole but, unfortunately, she was in love with Eric, Sami's twin brother. Lucas made all kinds of promises to her, but it was Kate who got Nicole for her son, with a check for $5,000,000. Nicole and Lucas were married and he got custody of Will. After Sami was released from prison, she fought to get custody of Will, even moving into the Kiriakis Mansion so she could be near him. Eventually, Sami worked with Nicole to get Will back, by driving Lucas, a recovering alcoholic, to drink again. Nicole got Lucas drunk and seduced him and made him think he had beaten her and confessed to Franco's murder.

Lucas, along with Kate and Victor, followed Sami and Brandon to Italy where they had gone to try to get information about Franco's murder. They tried to get Sami to return to Salem before she got the information, but to no avail. Back in Salem, Nicole finally told Lucas that she married him only for money. They were divorced. Still in Europe, Kate set up a hit on Victor and thought he'd been killed. Unfortunately, Sami got her hands on the tape of Kate bribing Roberto to confess to Franco's murder. Kate was confident, though, that since she now had all of Victor's money, Sami would still lose Will. But, Kate was wrong and, after the tape was played, Sami took Will.

Later, Kate discovered that Victor was still very much alive and in cahoots with Nicole. She knocked him out and set the house on fire, but the only one injured in the blaze was Lucas. He was in a coma and was sent away to a rehab center. Eventually, Lucas came out of his coma and was able to come back to Salem, but he was still partially paralyzed. Sami taunted him, while Lucas seemed to really want to make amends. He went with his mother to Sami and Austin's wedding in Vegas, where the real Lucas came out when he tape-recorded Sami's confession of many of her evil deeds. Austin overheard and left Sami at the altar, and Lucas returned to Salem with evidence of Sami's misbehavior. Eventually, with Victor's help, Lucas used the tape to get joint custody of Will, who he took with him for a summer in Africa. When they returned, Will had learned a lot of bad habits from Lucas! Lucas continued to work on Victor's side, helping him to make Sami's life miserable. Even when it was discovered that he was still married to Nicole - the divorce papers were never filed - he worked hard to make it right.

Lucas went from being strongly on Victor's side to working for his nemesis, Tony DiMera. He enjoyed his newfound position of power - a lot - but the stress drove him back to drinking. But was it the stress of the job or over his unrequited feelings for Sami. His AA sponsor, Maggie, thought it was the latter and told Lucas he would feel compelled to drink until he was truthful. He managed to control the drinking, especially after Sami was injured at the DiMera Mansion and very nearly died. While she was in the hospital recovering, Lucas has some very erotic fantasies about her. He continued to help Sami adjust after she got out of the hospital.

Lucas, as well as his mother, was one of the main suspects when the Salem Stalker started a murder spree. The Stalker murdered several of Lucas's Horton relatives before she was finally caught and her identity revealed. Marlena was the murderer!

This was of course devastating news for Sami. She and Lucas grew closer as he tried to help her through this difficult time, until they finally made love. They managed to get past their pasts and develop a relationship. Lucas proposed to Sami, but with a caveat; she had to promise to redeem herself and to never lie to him again. She wasn't sure she wanted to accept; she wanted a better proposal, which Lucas came through with in a big way. He asked Julie for her advice and wowed Sami with a song.

Sami and Lucas became engaged but Kate did everything in her power to make sure they never walked down the aisle. She even brought Sami's ex Brandon Walker back to town. With Kate’s help, “fate” intervened. Lucas found Sami and Brandon in bed together on the morning of the wedding. He was devastated. As much as he loved Sami, he couldn’t forgive her for this. He ripped up the marriage license and swore he never wanted anything else to do with her. Sami tried to convince him that Kate was responsible, but his mother smooth-talked him and he only blamed his ex-fiance.

Even Will wanted nothing to do with Sami. He moved in with Lucas, then Sami appeared to disappear. In reality, she was getting revenge on all of her enemies in the guise of “Stan.”

When Shawn, Rex and Brady came to Lucas with a plan to rescue his brother Philip, he was at first very reluctant. Eventually, they talked him into it and he headed behind enemy lines on the daring rescue attempt.

They made it back from enemy lines. Sami proved her innocence to Lucas and that his mother had set her up to appear to have slept with Brandon. Wedding plans resumed, again! This time they made it to the alter. Opps, in comes..STAN?! How's that? Kate dressed in Sami's old disguise showed up at the wedding and revealed to all proof that Sami had worked for Tony DiMera as Stan. All the horrible things she had done as Stan came out and Lucas called off the wedding, again.
