JOSH TAYLOR - Roman Brady

CLICK FOR CHARACTER BIO...

Armed with a Burt Reynolds-like laid-back grin, virility and swagger, handsome soap actor Josh Taylor was first noticed tending bar near the popular Burbank Studios where "Days of Our Lives" (1965) was being cast. He won the role of working class Chris Kositchek (a bartender, natch) and for four seasons won the hearts of many a lady fan from 1977-1981, returning to the role again in 1982 for another five years.

Born Tommy Tim Taylor in Chillicothe, Illinois, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth University. Despite his good-ol'-boy reputation, he managed to buckle down and holds a Juris Doctorate in Law. Following his daytime fame in the mid-80s, Josh was successful in crossing over to prime-time TV with the sitcom "Valerie" (1986) as series star Valerie Harper's husband, Michael Hogan. In 1988, squabbles between the title star and the network led to Harper's abrupt dismissal. Instead of the expected cancellation, a surprise change showed up in the form of Sandy Duncan who came to the rescue as Valerie's sister and household help, changing the name of the show to "The Hogan Family" (1988). The program went on for another three seasons.

Brief forays into mini-movies and episodics ("Murder, She Wrote and "Matlock") and a recurring role as Luke Perry's ne'er-do-well father on "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990) failed to keep up a steady pace so Josh returned to the daytime fold in the mid-1990s with brief stints on "The Young and the Restless" and "The Guiding Light." In 1997 he came home to NBC and "Days..." as Roman Brady this time, and stayed with the show until 2004 when his character (and many others in a studio cost-cutting measure) fell victim to a serial killer. Later it was discovered his character managed to survive after all. Josh continues to live a "nine lives" cat-like existence on the show while playing out an attention-getting love triangle with stars Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn. Divorced from film action bombshell Sandahl Bergman of "Red Sonja" fame, Josh remarried and lives with wife Lisa in Burbank. He has a daughter from his first marriage.

Growing up he did some print and commercial modeling, thanks to the help of his industry related parents; his mom was a successful commercial actress and dad an advertising executive.

JOHN BLACK CHARACTER BIO...

In 1986, a mysterious man arrived in Salem. He had recently undergone extensive cosmetic surgery and had no memory of his past. Dr. Marlena Evans tried to help him sort out his past and, at one point, thought he could be the evil Phoenix, Stefano, because of a tattoo on his shoulder. After visiting a cosmetic surgeon who had photos of the missing Roman Brady, Marlena was convinced that the man was none other than her husband Roman. "Roman" moved into her house, her bed and her heart. He picked up parenting duties for his daughter, Carrie, and the twins, Sami and Eric, whom he had with Marlena.

After about five years, the real Roman escaped from captivity and returned to Salem. John was shocked to discover that he had been living another man's past and still had no knowledge of his own history. It wasn't until 1992 when Lawrence Alamain's aunt, Vivian, came to Salem. It turned out that John Black was really Forrest, Lawrence's presumed dead brother. Once his inheritance was properly reimbursed from Vivian, who had claimed Forrest's share of the Alamain fortune, John had an independent income for life.

John was shocked to discover that he had been living another man's past and still had no knowledge of his own history.

John then became involved with Isabella Toscano, who became pregnant with his child about the time that Danielle Stevens came to Salem. Danielle claimed to be both John's wife and a private investigator, who was on the trail of the jewel thief Romulus. She led John off to Europe and would have seduced him, but Isabella discovered that Danielle herself was really Romulus. John allowed Danielle to escape, then returned to Salem and wed Isabella. Their son, Brady Black, however, arrived in a church anteroom before the couple exchanged wedding vows. Only a few months later, Isabella died in John's arms of pancreatic cancer.

John never really stopped loving Marlena, the woman who dominated his short remembered history. Even though they acknowledged their love for each other, Marlena was faithful to her husband and dedicated to her family. However, when John announced that he was leaving Salem for good, Marlena gave in to a moment of passion aboard his private jet. That changed everything. John decided to stay in Salem and Marlena found out that she had conceived.

While Marlena was pregnant, John began a love affair with Kristen Blake, who turned out to be already betrothed to Tony DiMera. While John and Kristen embarked on their bumpy romance, Marlena delivered a baby girl, Belle. After Sami Brady brought to light the true paternity of Marlena and John's child, Kristen felt betrayed and married Tony as planned. Stefano captured John and tortured him in a dungeon at Maison Blanche. Marlena tried to seduce Stefano to help John escape. Roman got them both out, then decided to divorce Marlena and left town.

By then, John was committed to Kristen even though she was married to Tony. They could not continue their affair however, because John discovered another piece of his past: he was a priest. That served Marlena well when it became apparent that she was possessed by the devil. She needed to be exorcised, and who better than John, qualified and loving, to do the job? John freed Marlena of Satan and then freed himself of his priestly vows.

John and Kristen planned to find a way to be together, but before Kristen could obtain an annulment, fatally ill Tony committed suicide. In a complex plot, Tony framed John for murder. John was convicted and sentenced to death. He actually inhaled some fumes in the gas chamber before his innocence, through Tony's diary, came to light.

Marlena and John came close to reuniting after John's near death. However, Kristen became pregnant and John proposed marriage. Marlena refused to come between the couple for fear that Kristen would miscarry. However, Kristen had already miscarried, but with Stefano's help, she came up with a pregnant double. The ploy kept John in Kristen's grasp for a long time, but Kristen's double began to assume Kristen's life... and fell for John.

Kristen's double, Susan, locked up both the now scheming Kristen and Marlena and planned to marry John. However, Laura Horton uncovered the plan and exposed both Susan's identity and Kristen's faked pregnancy. John's affection for Kristen changed to utter loathing when he learned that the child was not his. Another shock followed when all of Salem learned that Roman Brady had died on an ISA assignment.

At last, John and Marlena reunited. Before they could marry, Roman returned from the dead. Kristen and Stefano had brought Roman back to Salem, but Roman was suffering from a deadly illness. Marlena could not bring herself to tell the dying Roman that she was in love with John. Determined to win John back, Kristen had already led Roman to believe that she and John were a couple.

Stefano, following his own plans, led John off to the jungle in search of a cure for Roman. John's friend, Hope, followed him, certain that he needed someone to protect him from Stefano's schemes, and during their adventures, John and Hope forged new, deeper bonds. But John's love remained focused on Marlena, and on finding a cure for Roman. With John away, Marlena agreed to grant Roman's dying wish and agreed to marry him. John returned with a cure for Roman, just as Marlena and Roman were about to marry.

After Kristen's "murder," John was finally free to be with the woman he loved. Marlena and John planned to be married, but a couple with more obstacles has never been found. John gave up his search for the past, fearing he would not like the man he was under Stefano's control. John and Marlena went on their honeymoon in Hawaii when Gina, unbeknownst to Stefano, lured John away by faking a drowning. John was temporarily returned to 1985, and his love for Gina. In an unlikely twist, Stefano deactivated John's chip and threw him off the submarine. Stefano no longer trusted Gina and John to work together. Marlena found John's body washed up onshore and rushed him to the hospital. When he woke up, he had no memory of what occurred.

John and Marlena returned to Salem, eager to begin the joy of what should be the comfort and contentment of married life. But it could never be that easy. John and Isabella's son, Brady, moved back in and proved to have a tumultuous relationship with Marlena. The Coronation Massacre occurred, in which John returned to "mercenary mode" and pulled many of the injured guests to safety. John also believed for a time that he was the father of Hope's baby, but as the results of the baby switch played out, it was revealed that he wasn't. It was Bo. And John and Marlena were free to continue their beautiful romance.

John started a new business, Basic Black and hired Kate Roberts to run it for him. But the most shocking event to transpire in Salem was the return of Tony DiMera, the believed-dead son of Stefano. He brought John's spy skills to the front, as he and Marlena tried to figure out why Tony had come back. He also had to deal with the arrival in Salem of the Gemini Twins, Rex and Cassie, two "aliens" who Marlena wanted to help but who he believed were two more pawns of Stefano.

John and Marlena traveled to DiMera Island to try to learn more about the Twins. Eventually, with both Tony and Rolf's help, the discovered that Marlena had given birth to Rex and Cassie. And Tony was their father. John wasn't happy that there was now a link between Tony and his beloved Doc. John also wasn't happy to learn that he and Tony were half-brothers; they shared a mother, Daphne DiMera. The identity of his father is still a mystery. For a time, it looked as if Tony wanted to reunite with the mother of his children, but after the evil Count tried to kill John by locking him in a sauna, Marlena seemed to side with her husband once and for all.

The arrival in town of the Salem Stalker caused the loss of some of John's closest and dearest friends. His main goal was to uncover the identity of the Stalker; little did he know how close to home this was. He refused to believe his wife Marlena could be the killer, until the evidence stacked up against her was too much to ignore. When Alice called him with the message that Marlena was the killer and was ready to murder the Horton matriarch, John knew he had to stop her. He failed. Later that night, Marlena admitted she was the killer, then the two of them got into an altercation over his gun and she went over the penthouse balcony. When she awoke after the incident, she claimed that JOHN was the killer. Nevertheless, she went to jail for the crime, leaving John devastated.

When Marlena "escaped" from jail, John tried to save her, but could not. She was shot by a police sharpshooter and died in his arms. He was devastated. He carried his beloved Doc through the streets of Salem and laid her out in church. It wasn't long after she was buried, however, that they discovered that her casket was empty. John became suspicious of a certain island and he and Bo tried to get their on the Basic Black jet. They were shot down, but survived to find their loved ones alive on Tony DiMera's island prison. John and Marlena were reunited, but he was a little suspicious about how close Doc and Roman had gotten while imprisoned together.

The next step was escape. As they were finally getting out of Tony's clutches, the evil DiMera created a volcanic eruption, which in turn caused a giant wave. John was injured in his final fight with his half brother and joined the other Salemites on makeshift rafts. The Coast Guard eventually picked most of them up, but Marlena was not among the survivors. And John was paralyzed.

Back in Salem, John found himself with another obstacle to his happiness. He was paralyzed and the pain killers were doing no good. It seemed that a DiMera operative was injecting his IV with a dangerous drug. He became addicted to painkillers as he was determined to walk his daughter Belle down the aisle.

John did walk Belle down the aisle, but it wasn't long before his addiction was discovered, thanks to savvy Nicole. With Kate's help, he fought the pain and his addiction. She even moved into the Penthouse to help him. It wasn't long before they grew close, so close, in fact, taht they made love. They each believed their loved ones would want them to move on with each other. Finally, John proposed and Kate accepted! Little did they know that Roman and Marlena were arriving in Salem at that very moment. Everyone seeemd to move on from their "indecrestions" so to speak, unti, Marlena found out she was pregnant. She told John she was with child, but not his. John quickly put it all together. Roman and Marlena had slept together while being held captive. He believed Roman took advantage of her. Marlena heard the argueing as she came down the stairs. She fell. She lost the baby. When she came to in the hospital and was told she lost the baby she passed out again. When she woke she had no memory of herself or anyone else. In comes John's latest nemisis... Dr.North. A reknown therapist specializing in amnesia.. YA WHATEVER! He has brain washed Marlena got her to ask John for a divorce and frowns upon her seeing anyone in her family. John vowed to figure out what he was up to and stop him!

ROMAN BRADY CHARACTER BIO...

As Shawn and Caroline's eldest son, Roman Brady was a police detective when he first met Dr. Marlena Evans in 1982. She had been receiving threatening phone calls and, with the Salem Strangler on the loose, Brady was assigned to protect the doc. They fell in love and would have married except that Roman's estranged wife, Anna, and their daughter, Carrie, returned to Salem. Once the divorce was finalized, Roman was free to wed. By that time he had become the object of crime boss Stefano DiMera's wrath and several assassination attempts were made on Roman's wedding day. He survived and Roman and Marlena had twins, Samantha and Eric, before Stefano seemed to shoot Roman in 1984.

Though presumed dead, Roman was actually held captive for several years. In 1986, Marlena met an amnesiac stranger and was led to believe that this man was Roman, who had undergone brain washing, torture and cosmetic surgery.

Though presumed dead, Roman was actually held captive for several years. The real Roman returned to Salem in 1991 and found his wife with another "Roman." Eventually he set the record straight. Roman II was then called John Black and went from Marlena's bed as her husband, to a close friend of the family and buddy to Roman.

However, Marlena and John always had deep feelings for each other and after a one-time tryst, Marlena became pregnant. When the baby turned out to be fathered by John, Roman divorced Marlena and left town in 1994 to take on a secret crime-fighting mission.

As a result of Sami's accident and subsequent amnesia, the search began for her father, Roman. When news came that Roman was dead, John and Marlena became closer, but neither revealed their feelings.

As a result of Sami's accident and subsequent amnesia, the search began for her father, Roman.

On John and Marlena's wedding day, Kristen delivered a bandaged and wheelchair-bound Roman, suffering from the still-lethal effects of chemical warfare. John agreed to release an imprisoned Stefano and join him on a jungle quest to find Roman's cure. As his last wish Roman wants to re-wed Marlena. Drawn to Roman in his need and believing John was dead in the jungle, Marlena agreed to remarry Roman. They were before a priest and about to make their vows when John arrived carrying Roman's cure. Roman was rushed back to the hospital for treatment.

Thanks to Kristen, Roman found out that John and Marlena were still together. It strengthened his determination to win back Marlena. Later, Roman gave up and accepted that Marlena and John belonged together.

When Marlena believed that Brady was responsible for Belle's coma, Roman agreed to go after the young man, who had decided to skip town. He and Abe trailed Brady to a truck-stop and when he tried to escape, Abe shot him in the back. Brady survived the shooting, but sued, demanding that Roman be stripped of his job and benefits in addition to paying one million dollars in damages! At the end of the arbitration, Brady was awarded one hundred thousand dollars and both Abe and Roman were allowed to keep their jobs.

He and Abe trailed Brady to a truck-stop and when he tried to escape, Abe shot him in the back.

Roman has continued to grow closer to Kate Roberts, as he tries to figure out what her relationship to Stefano DiMera is, or was. But, while he investigates Kate, he has also become attracted to her, much to his daughter Sami's dismay. He played a major part in helping his brother Bo to deal with Hope's kidnapping. In a big step, he helped his former nemesis Brady Black to find Chloe Lane's biological father, who is in the witness protection program.

Roman and Kate's relationship finally got going, although she was initially reluctant. She finally fell for him, but he couldn't tell her he loved her. Plus, she was living with the knowledge of her hidden past. This played a part in her becoming a suspect in Abe's murder. She had argued with Abe the morning of his murder after he threatened to expose her past as a hooker for Stefano. Ultimately, she told Roman the truth and they were able to get beyond this. He finally asked her to marry him.

Roman and Kate planned a gala New Year's Eve wedding at Tuscany. Sami tried desperately to stop it; fortunately, she was not succcessful. After he and Kate exchanged vows, Roman asked Kate to try to find a way to get along with Sami. This ended up being his last request to his new wife as he was killed minutes later.

Of course, Roman wasn't really dead. He was on Tropical Island Salem with the other "victims" of Salem's most notorious serial killer. They had to live with the knowledge that they are really alive and their families and friends are back in real Salem, grieving their deaths. While on the island, Roman and Marlena grew closer, though without rekindling the love they once shared. Eventually, the truth started to come out; Jennifer believed Jack was still alive and headed toward the island. It wasn’t long before other Salemites followed and discovered their “dead” loved ones. The next challenge was escaping.

Tony tried everything in his power to stop them, including causing a volcanic eruption. They were determined to get off that island, though, and they almost all succeeded. Unfortunately, that volcanic eruption caused a huge wave and capsized the Salemites’ rafts and boats. The Coast Guard picked most of them up, but a few of them, including Roman, were recaptured by Tony. He eventually took them to a remote European castle where Roman and Marlena were imprisoned together.

While in the castle, Tony tormented Roman and Marlena with video footage that appeared to show Kate and John making love. Eventually, Roman and Marlena gave into the temptation and gave up hope of ever escaping and made love themselves. They weren’t sure if anyone else was in the castle until Jack popped through their wall. With his help, they finally escaped this DiMera prison. They fought fire and explosions, but finally made it out. They’re on their way back to Salem, but are they going to like what’s waiting for them there? John and Kate have become engaged in their absence and Roman has convinced Marlena to keep the truth from their loved ones. Eventually they had no choice but to share their dirty little secret. Marlena was pregnant, with ROMAN'S BABY! Sadly she lost it. Roman was desperately trying to rebuild his relationship with Kate, working endlessly to get her to forgive him for not telling her right away about him and Marlena, when he found out her terrible secret. At a surprise birthday party for Lucas (kate's son) Sami (roman's daughter) shared the proof that Kate had set her up to edn up in bed with Brandon Walker. Roman couldn't forgive Kate for doing such a terrible thing to his daughter, especially after she promised him on their wedding day she would look out for Sami if anything was to happen to him.

Roman filed for divorce.

VICTOR KIRIAKIS CHARACTER BIO...

Victor Kiriakis first arrived in Salem in 1985. Unknown to most of Salem he was a criminal and was financing Savannah Wilder's drug and porno ring. He was eventually arrested for his part in the crime syndicate, but forced Larry Welch into taking the fall for him.

Kimberly Brady had a short relationship with him, but cut it off and returned to Shane when he divorced Emma. Later, Shane was imprisoned by Victor, and Kimberly slept with him to spare her beloved's life. Victor learned that Kimberly was pregnant and the child could be his.

In 1986, Victor had a meeting with Caroline Brady, who ended up holding him at gunpoint. Years earlier, she and Victor had had an affair and she wanted to keep it quiet, particularly because Bo was really Victor's son. Bo arrived and had to take his mother into custody. At a hearing, Caroline had to admit that Bo was Victor's son. It was agreed that they wouldn't tell Grandpa Shawn because it would hurt him too much, but shortly thereafter Bo moved in with Victor. Unbeknownst to Victor, Bo had ulterior motives; he was trying to bring down Victor's crime syndicate. Caroline pleaded for Victor to forget that Bo was his son because it was causing stress on Bo and Hope's marriage. Victor, who still held a place for Caroline in his heart, agreed. Victor forged papers saying he was sterile and wasn't Bo's father. Victor disowned Bo, and later Bo left Salem with Hope. Depressed about the loss of his son, Victor tried to sue for custody of Andrew Donovan, but it was discovered that Shane was the boy's father.

When Angelica Devereaux became pregnant, Victor suspected that his nephew Justin was the father, even though she denied it. Victor proposed to Angelica, hoping to pass the child off as his own. Much to Victor's dismay, Angelica married Neil Curtis. Victor was furious and attempted to ruin her marriage by luring Neil into gambling again. Neil was eventually ruined and Angelica left him and decided to go after Justin instead.

Justin and his wife Adrienne learned that Angelica's son Alexander was his, but they didn't split up. Justin and Adrienne moved out of the Kiriakis Mansion when he learned that his Uncle Victor was drugging him, causing his impotency. In an attempt to get back at his uncle, Justin hired a hooker name Yvette DuPres to seduce Victor and con him into believing she was a wealthy baroness. Victor learned the truth and was furious with Justin. Angelica then moved in with Victor and planned to marry him, knowing that it would kill Justin to have his son under Victor's roof. Justin stopped the wedding and set Angelica up in a lavish penthouse. Fearing she was losing Justin, Adrienne, under the advice of Victor, allowed Justin to believe she was pregnant. When Angelica learned the truth and exposed Adrienne, Justin and Adrienne agreed to get a divorce.

Victor teamed up with Marina Toscano to uncover the Toscano family treasure. Marina knew where the key was, and Victor knew where the treasure was hidden, but they needed each other's help to get it. Marina double crossed Victor and let him believe the key he had taken from her was the real key. Marina had hidden the real one in Steve and Kayla Johnson's home. When Marina ended up dead Victor lost the hope of finding the key. He finally did find it, but the treasure was already gone. Victor knew his daughter Isabella had killed Marina, but he framed Kayla for the murder. Kayla was convicted and sentenced to jail. Eventually, the truth came out, but Isabella was not charged because the death was accidental. Victor was also arrested and charged with withholding evidence.

Victor began to search for his true son, Bo Brady. Victor chased Bo and Hope around the world. Eventually Bo, Hope, and Shawn D. returned to Salem and Bo accepted the fact that Victor was his real father. In late 1990, Victor made up with his nephew Justin and his wife Adrienne. Victor also bonded with his newly discovered daughter, Isabella. However Victor's happiness was short-lived. He had a stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Carly Manning became Victor's physical therapist and he fell in love with her, even though he knew she loved his son Bo. Victor proposed to her anyway and she accepted.

Bo befriended a young girl named Emmy Borden, who was in love with him. The night before Carly was to marry Victor, Bo wrote a love letter to her begging her not to go through with it. He asked Emmy to deliver it to Carly, but she gave it to Victor, instead. Victor replaced Bo's letter with a forged one that urged Carly to marry Victor. He sent a forged letter from Carly to Bo telling Bo that she was in love with Victor and was going to marry him. Devastated, Bo showed up at their wedding and toasted them with a glass of champagne. Unfortunately, the champagne he drank was poisoned by Emmy, who expected Carly to drink it. Bo was infected with the virus that Lawrence had created and was using to kill off ISA agents.

When Victor learned that Bo was infected with Lawrence's virus, Victor offered to trade the "John Black" file to Lawrence for the cure. The deal fell through and during the trade the vial fell to the floor and broke. Luckily, Carly was able to save some of it and reproduce the cure, saving Bo and many others. Carly eventually uncovered Victor's love letter scheme and promptly left him for Bo. Victor was furious and attempted to have Bo killed in an elevator accident at the Salem Inn. The plan failed and Carly was seriously injured. As a result, both Bo and Isabella disowned their father.

In 1992, Victor lost his daughter Isabella to cancer. Victor turned his life around because of her and made a respectable businessman out of himself. Victor began seeing Vivian Alamain. In 1993, Kate Roberts came to Salem to head up Victor's new business, Titan Industries. Victor allowed Kate and her son, Lucas, to move into his mansion. The two fell in love and married, or so they thought. Later, Vivian revealed to everyone that Kate's first husband, Curtis Reed, was very much alive when Kate married Victor.

Victor told Kate he would only marry her legitimately if she bore him a child. Kate could not get pregnant, so she went to a fertility clinic. Vivian learned of this and cooked up her own plan. Pretending to attempt to have a child with Ivan, Vivian went to the same clinic and managed to switch her and Kate's embryos. Vivian was implanted with Victor and Kate's child. They believed that it was an accident. Vivian managed to force herself to be invited move into the Kiriakis Mansion where she plotted to marry Victor. She prepared a surprise wedding for Kate and Victor, but in the rehearsal, she pretended to be Kate. Victor had no idea that he and Vivian had actually married. When it came time for Victor to marry Kate, Vivian went into labor and gave birth to Phillip. Kate had found out the truth about the "wedding" and planned to expose Vivian after she returned home from a business trip. Desperate to buy time, Vivian drugged a jug of coffee that Kate was taking on her trip. Unbeknownst to Vivian, Kate gave the coffee to her pilot and the plane crashed. Kate was believed dead, leaving Victor to Vivian.

Vivian managed to convince Victor that what she wanted a husband and a family to settle down with. One night, as Vivian and Victor prepared to make love, Kate walked in on them. Kate told Victor that Vivian purposely became pregnant with their child and then tried to kill her. Victor threw Vivian out. In a desperate attempt to win Victor back, Vivian filed for custody of baby Phillip. Victor confronted Vivian about the lawsuit, but had a stroke when he got too worked up. Later, when Victor saw photos of Kate's time as a call girl, he had another stroke and had to be moved to a nursing home. He stayed there for quite some time, while Kate ran Titan and Vivian continued to try to take control. Eventually, Vivian exposed a scam at the nursing home where Victor was being kept and he was released. He was ready to marry Kate, but told her that he was impotent. She agreed to marry him nonetheless.

Nicole entered Victor's life while she was married to Lucas. Being the gold-digger that she is, she quickly realized that the person with the real money was Victor and it wasn't long before she set her sights on him. Meanwhile, Kate was having a flirtation with Nicholas, another Titan employee. He was in love with Kate and told Victor as much. Victor called off his and Kate's wedding and moved her into a guestroom at the mansion.

Victor took Kate and Lucas to Italy to stop Sami from getting information about Roberto's fake confession. Here, they celebrate Sami's demise prematurely. After returning to Salem, Nicole continued plotting to win Victor over, finally making love to him in the back of his limo. Shortly thereafter, however, he also made love to Kate. Kate made the mistake of putting a hit out on Victor, to be carried out at Princess Greta's coronation. At the last minute, she wanted to call it off, but was told it was too late. Shots rang out and she believed Victor was killed. He wasn't and when he appeared to her as a "ghost," she figured it out, hit him over the head and set fire to the Kiriakis Mansion with him inside. He escaped unharmed and later confronted her in the ashes of his mansion. He left her penniless and took up with Nicole in a rented estate. He then set his sights on keeping Philip and Chloe apart, but that was no use. When Philip almost died in the class trip to Puerto Rico, Victor and Nicole traveled there to help save him.

When Nicole started spending too much time with Austin, Victor became jealous. Meanwhile, Philip was trying desperately to get his parents back together and to get Nicole out of his father's life. Eventually, Victor did ask Nicole to move out, but soon thereafter planned to ask her to marry him. She told him she wanted to think about it, which basically split them up. When Victor got hold of the incriminating tape against Sami, he used it to help Lucas get partial custody of Will. Victor was unhappy when Nicole began a relationship with Colin Murphy and broke them up. Nicole and Victor finally got back together. When a bullet meant for Victor hit Nicole instead and she went into a coma, he promised her after she recovered that he would destroy Sami and Kate as a wedding present.

Victor and Nicole finally married, in a New Year's Eve ceremony. It wasn't the most beautiful wedding; Colin Murphy was murdered out on the terrace while they were exchanging vows. Victor knew that his beautiful new bride was the culprit, but he threatened Larry Welch into taking the fall. Nicole and Victor proceeded to make each other's life a living hell, so much so that she broke Larry out of jail to kill her husband. Larry's murder attempt failed and he died instead.

This was just another nail in Nicole's coffin for Victor. He had his lawyer draw up divorce papers and a new will, leaving Nicole exactly one dollar. He placed these papers in his private safe, complete with a new, high tech security system and combination. That didn't stop Nicole. Her partner in crime Jan not only killed Victor, she gave Nicole the combination to the safe. Nicole removed the evidence against her and the will.

Of course, Victor wasn't really dead at all. He was being held hostage on Tropical Island Salem by the evil Count Tony DiMera. While there, he grew closer to Caroline, the love of his life, even moving into the Brady Pub to “protect” her. Finally, they were rescued by a group of Salemites who arrived on the island. Unfortunately, Victor was among the group recaptured by Tony. This does mean he gets to spend more time with Caroline, but at what cost? His “widow” Nicole is back in Salem, moving on with his grandson Brady.

Victor and Caroline finally made it back to Salem after being rescued by Bo, Billie. Hope and Patrick Lockhart. Since his retunr he was able to see his grandson Brady marry the love of his life Chloe Lane. He has kicked Nicole out on her butt without a penny or clothes for that matter.

PATRICK LOCKHART CHARACTER BIO...

Patrick had in interesting introduction to the Salem scene. He was walking behind Jennifer Deveraux's driveway when she hit him with his car. He was rushed to the hospital (as was Jennifer), where he first guilted Jennifer into paying his medical bills, then into inviting him to stay in the garage apartment. Although he was feigning severe injury, whenever Jennifer would leave the room he would leap into action, searching her purse, her computer, and her house for information on her and Jack. He tells Jennifer that he knew Jack after meeting him at the Speedway one day, and feigns shock to learn of his death, but privately admits aloud that timing is everything, and it is clear that Patrick's motives are less than pure. Unfortunately, Patrick almost blew it when he talked about what a dedicated reporter Jack was, something there is no way he could have known at just one or two meetings.

Patrick's connection to Bonnie wasn't known until he had been in town for a few days. He worked hard to keep anyone from knowing he was in Salem; to his mother he said he would be 'coming home', and he repeatedly told someone on the phone that he was in Europe. Hope and Lexie were suspicious of him immediately, but he worked hard to convince both that he wasn't scamming Jennifer. When Patrick and Bonnie talked on the phone, she tried to convince him that he should get Jennifer for all she was worth, but Patrick refused to do that to her. He tells her that he has plenty of money, and he'll be by to pick it up later, only to learn that Bonnie has spent all his hard earned money. Patrick is furious because he owes money to people, and they aren't the type who will be willing to wait.

Patrick soon decided that whatever his original intent had been, he couldn't use Jennifer the way he had planned. He even went so far as to tell Jennifer and Abby that he was going to move out, but they convinced him to stay after Jennifer had yet another attack. It was only Patrick's quick thinking that saved her, and even Lexie marvelled that Patrick knew enough to put a hot water bottle over Jennifer's abdomen. When Jennifer has another attack after the death of Alice Horton, Patrick is with her, and the presence of not only him but also an old pirate doubloon that Patrick has seem to calm her down yet again, especially when Patrick tells her to hold onto the doubloon and concentrate on her love for Jack.

Patrick's past is getting more and more mysterious, as his shock at learning that Celeste was Stefano's former helpmate shows that Patrick also shares a past with Stefano he refuses to share, and he also refuses to let Celeste look at his doubloon. Patrick devotes his attentions to helping Jennifer, who is shocked at how much like Jack her new houseguest is turning out to be. At Alice's funeral, Patrick was approached by a mystery man who reminded him that he came to Salem for a reason, but Patrick was refusing to 'get with the program'. Rex intervened just in time.

Patrick proved his loyalty, so to speak many times over to our Salemites. However, the only people who seem to believe him are the women. Hmmmm. Bo and Billie's new found daughter Georgia, better known as wild child Chelsea, has a huge crush on him. this has caused numerous fights between him and Bo, who doesn't like him as it is. Chelsea and Billie now live Patrick at the Lockhart house.

It appears Patrick is still up to "something" but we have no idea what it is.....

MICKEY HORTON CHARACTER BIO...

Born on January 19th, 1932, Mickey is the middle son of Tom and Alice Horton. As a result, they have always had a sibling rivalry. In addition to Bill, Mickey has siblings Tommy, Addie, and Marie. At one time, he was thought to be the father of Mike Horton. However, Mickey is sterile. His only children are his adoptive children, Melissa Anderson and Sarah Horton. He has also been a foster father to Janice Barnes. Before being married to Maggie Horton, Mickey was married to Laura Horton. For many years, Mickey was a pivotal character in Salem. Nowadays, he has settled down, working at his law firm and being a good husband to Maggie.

In 1965, Mickey was a young bachelor that many women in Salem hoped to become involved with. Mickey thought he had found the right woman when he began seeing Diane Hunter, whose divorce case he was handling. For many months, Mickey supported Diane as she struggled with her daughter Susan, in particular when Susan ran off and eloped with David Martin. Unfortunately, Diane reunited with her ex-husband, Richard, not long after thanks to the efforts of Susan. Meanwhile, Mickey got a job as attorney for Woodstock Industries, a corporation that produced, among other things, soap. Originally a blessing, this job would eventually be a nightmare when Tom discovered that the company's soap factory was contaminating the Salem River. This pollution, which had seeped into the water supply, had already caused Mickey's niece Julie to become sick. Mickey felt torn between defending the company and condemning its actions, which had affected his family. In the end, Mickey took the family's side in the matter and Woodstock Industries stopped the contamination. Soon after this, Laura Horton came into his life.

Dr. Laura Spencer was new in Salem in 1966, and became friends with Mickey's brother Bill. Bill thought that Laura would be a great person for Mickey and set them up on a date. Upon meeting Laura, Mickey was interested in her. But he did not actively pursue Laura until after the David Martin murder trial. Mickey and Laura worked together for many days and nights to acquit Susan, who had murdered David in a fit of temporary insanity. In the time that they worked together, Laura and Mickey fell in love. The following year, they became engaged and married, while Bill left Salem after being stricken with bone tuberculosis. Bill later returned, however.

Mickey and Laura were very happy together, but he was concerned that he had not conceived a child yet. Mickey tested to see if he was sterile, but before finding out the results, he learned that Laura was pregnant, and forgot all about the tests. Unbeknownst to Mickey, Bill had raped Laura, and it was his baby she was carrying; Mickey really was sterile. But his father Tom kept this a secret to avoid hurting the family. In 1969, the child was born, and named Michael William Horton, in honor of his "father", Mickey, and his "uncle", Bill. By this time, Laura, Bill, and Tom were the only ones who knew Michael's secret parentage. Kitty knew as well, but she died later that year (See Kitty Horton.)

Mickey and Laura remained a happy married couple, even though there was still tension between Laura and Bill. But while Laura remained faithful, Mickey did not. In 1970, his secretary, Linda Patterson seduced Mickey, and they became intimate on more than one occasion. Linda begged Mickey to leave Laura for her, but Mickey could not. The following year, Linda attempted to commit suicide, and made her affair with Mickey public. Although Laura and Mickey were treading on shaky ground, they agreed to rebuild their marriage for Michael's sake. However, young Michael had learned of his "father's" affair with Linda, and blasted at him for hurting his mother. As a result of this, Mickey suffered a heart attack. Thankfully, his brother Bill saved his life in the operating room by performing a triple bypass.

In 1974, while still recovering from his heart attack, Mickey suffered a stroke in the hospital. The stroke left him with amnesia. Because everyone was at Greg Peters and Susan Martin's wedding, Mickey was able to walk out of the hospital unnoticed. He remembered nothing of his past life; he didn't even know his name. Looking down at his belt buckle, Mickey saw the initials M.H., and made up a new name - Marty Hanson. The amnesiac Marty wandered right into a small town outside of Salem named Brookville, and was taken in by a young, crippled farm girl named Maggie Simmons. "Marty" recuperated under Maggie's care, and decided to stay and live with her. He helped her with chores around the farm, and they eventually fell in love with each other. Soon after their marriage, Marty noticed that an experimental operation was being offered at University Hospital in Salem to heal injuries such as Maggie's. He took her to Salem to consult the doctors, and his presence was made known. Eventually, Bill and Laura deduced that Mickey was not dead, and tracked him down to Brookville. When told of his real identity, Marty insisted to be left alone; he was happy with Maggie. In the meantime, he helped Maggie through the operation on her legs. Although it wasn't known whether it would be a success or not, Mickey gave Maggie hope by giving her a pair of red dancing shoes, which he promised her she'd wear when they would go dancing once she was able to walk.

Meanwhile, Bill and Laura had become involved once again, but could not be married because she was still married to Mickey. "Marty" gladly gave Laura a divorce in 1975, and remarried Maggie. Later that year, Linda Phillips (she had married Jim Phillips), came back to Salem and took advantage of Mickey's amnesia to rekindle their romance. However, her plan was foiled after her estranged husband wrote Maggie, warning her of Linda's machinations.

Finally, in 1976, the inevitable happened. While Mickey's son Michael was at the farm, he suffered an accident and needed blood. Mickey's blood didn't match and everyone realized that Mickey couldn't possibly be Mike's father. Finally, the truth came out. Bill donated blood and Mike was saved. But the realization that Bill was Mike's father brought back Mickey's memory, and he became enraged. He finally learned that he was sterile, and snapped. One night, he purchased a gun and waited for Bill at home. When Bill arrived, Mickey shot him. Fortunately, he missed and shot him in the arm, and Bill survived. Mickey, however, suffered a nervous breakdown and was admitted to Bayview Sanitarium. While in the hospital, Mickey became overwhelmingly violent; he tried to strangle two blonde nurses, imagining that they were Laura. But Mickey eventually recuperated with the help of his doctor, Marlena Evans. Funnily, when they first met, Mickey warned Marlena that he'd tried to strangle two blonde nurses; Marlena admitted to him that she wasn't a natural blonde, so there was nothing to fear.

Mickey was at Bayview for one year. Despite his mental state, Maggie still loved "Marty" and worked hard to recuperate from the operation. The work paid off. One day, she showed up at Mickey's room and walked without her crutches. Mickey soon began to improve. When he was released, he forgave Bill and Laura, and returned to a normal life with Maggie. Wanting a child to take care of, Mickey and Maggie became foster parents to Janice Barnes. They grew to love Janice very much, and had begun adoption proceedings, when Janice's mother, Joanne, returned for her daughter and took her to Florida, not planning on coming back. Janice's kidnapping was hard on Mickey and Maggie. In the end, Joanne was found, and temporary custody was given to the Hortons until a final ruling could be made. Nevertheless, Joanne stayed close by to check on her daughter. During this time, Mickey had to deal with Maggie, who had become an alcoholic as a result of all the tension. To make things worse, Joanne won a six-month custody of Janice in 1979; even though she had a criminal record, Janice's lawyer brought up Mickey's nervous breakdown and Maggie's alcoholism (which had caused several accidents). Maggie became more of a lush after this. She then kidnapped Janice. After they were found, Janice wound up with her mother. With much patience, Mickey finally convinced Maggie of her problem, and took her to Alcoholics Anonymous. It took a while, but Maggie finally began treatment for her alcoholism.

In 1980, Joanne informed the Hortons that the six months were up, and that she'd be bringing Janice back. However, Mickey and Maggie decided to let Janice be with her natural mother. The following year, Maggie yearned to be a surrogate mother, and Mickey agreed to let her do this. She soon became pregnant. As time went by, Mickey learned that the father of the child was Evan Whyland but kept it a secret from Maggie because she was friends with Evan. Meanwhile, Maggie had decided to keep the baby. After Sarah Horton was born, Mickey engaged in a custody battle against Evan Whyland, and won! His victory was mostly due to the fact that Evan had lied about his wife (he said she was out of town; she was really dead.) This, sadly, was not the last Mickey would hear from Evan. Meanwhile, Mickey and Maggie adopted Melissa Anderson, whom Linda had practically abandoned after Bob died.

Maggie discovered that Evan was Sarah's father when she overheard a conversation between him and Mickey. Maggie barely contained her fury and left Mickey to go talk to Evan privately. However, Evan and Maggie disappeared after leaving the hospital in her car. Mickey worried about their disappearance, especially because Evan hadn't been acting rationally as a result of his criminal involvement with Stefano DiMera. Finally, the police found Maggie and Evan on a lonely road, having suffered a serious car accident. While Maggie survived, Evan died. His last words were about Stefano DiMera. Mickey had had his suspicions about Stefano, but Evan's words confirmed them. They also confirmed that Stefano had almost murdered Maggie.

After reconciling with Maggie, Mickey checked up on Stefano, learning that he owned a large compound outside Caracas, Venezuela. Mickey decided to go to Caracas to investigate Stefano's dealings there. Stefano found out what Mickey was up to and rigged Mickey's plane so that it would crash. The plane crashed in the jungle and Stefano kidnapped him and kept him prisoner in his compound there. Everyone in Salem thought that Mickey had died because a charred body was recovered from the crash site, and Mickey's dental records matched the body's. A horrified Mickey was shown photos of his funeral to let him know that no one would ever find him. Mickey spent over 8 months in Venezuela, and finally he was able to escape. He rushed to Salem by sneaking aboard a ship, then on a plane. Efforts to reach his family by phone were futile since people believed he was a prank caller, so he went straight to his home expecting to be welcomed home by Maggie. When he reached the house, he didn't find anyone and when upstairs. When he returned downstairs, he was shocked to find Maggie and Don professing their love for one another. As a result, Mickey suffered yet another heart attack. After he recuperated, he and Maggie made an attempt to work out their problems. Everything seemed to be alright, and a renewal of wedding vows was planned. But during the ceremony, Maggie admitted that she still loved Don and broke off the wedding. Soon thereafter, Mickey and Maggie divorced.

During this time, Mickey also objected to Melissa dating Pete Jannings. He was from the wrong side of town, a member of the gang The Vipers, and he even kidnapped her. One day, Mickey went to talk to Pete about leaving Melissa alone. Suddenly he was caught in the midst of a gang fight and was shot by Pete. Although Mickey survived the shooting, he summoned Melissa. If she agreed to stop seeing Pete, he wouldn't tell the police who had shot him. Melissa agreed. Meanwhile, Maggie stopped dating Don and took care of Mickey. Although they became closer, Mickey couldn't forget her betrayal with Don. Saddened, Maggie left Salem. Meanwhile, Mickey finally agreed to Melissa and Pete's relationship. The following year, Maggie returned to Salem when Melissa went missing. While worrying about Melissa, Mickey and Maggie worked on a reconciliation. Some time later, Maggie was attacked and raped by Ian Griffith. Mickey helped her to heal from her ordeal, and they grew close once again. Finally, Mickey proposed remarriage! They remarried in a double wedding with Pete and Melissa in early 1986.

The following year, however, tragedy struck once again when Maggie came down with a strange illness. No one knew what was wrong with her and all tests indicated that she was in perfect health. Finally, it dawned on Mike that perhaps it could be a little-known condition. Indeed, Maggie was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, a neuromuscular disease. It looked grim for Maggie, as she began to loose excessive amounts of weight and certain faculties, such as her ability to walk, speak, and even breathe at times. Mickey stood by her during her entire ordeal. For a while, no progress seemed to be made, but finally a treatment began working for her. Fortunately, her treatment, directed by the newly-returned Bill, succeeded in saving her life and her disease went into remission. When she was finally on the road to recovery, Mickey came to the hospital and gave her a new pair of red shoes. He assured her that she would walk again, and that he'd take her dancing. And that's just what happened. During Maggie's recovery, she and Mickey got a wonderful surprise when Janice, now grown-up, came to Salem to work at the hospital. Mickey invited her to stay with them at their house.

Mickey, in particular, was overjoyed to see Janice and was happy to take upon the role of dad once again, since Melissa was now living on her own and grew more and more independent every day. Over the course of months, it became evident that Mike was interested in Janice, and Mickey encouraged Janice to date Mike. Unfortunately, Janice secretly began seeing Bill. Meanwhile, Bill announced to the family that he was going to divorce Laura. Mickey was shocked and angered at this and told Bill to remain married to Laura. About a month later, Janice and Bill's affair came to light. Although Mickey was obviously upset about it, he never judged Janice. Soon after this, Janice decided to leave Salem. However, Mickey didn't want to see her go and begged her to think about her decision. That night, Janice was killed by the Riverfront Knifer, Harper Deveraux. Mickey and Maggie were inconsolable.

Mickey tried to deal with Janice's death by burying himself in his work. As District Attorney, Mickey felt that the next logical step in his career was a political position and decided to campaign for the Senate. Meanwhile, he strongly opposed Melissa's relationship with Jack Deveraux. Ironically, Jack became his main opponent in the Senate campaign. During this time, Sarah was hit by a car driven by a drunken Eve Donovan, but survived the accident. The incident caused many voters to sympathize with Mickey and he gained a following. However, it looked as if Jack would win, especially after he announced his plans to wed Melissa. But just days before the election, during the wedding ceremony, Melissa left Jack at the altar to Mickey's delight. At that point Mickey's victory was predicted, but Mickey ended losing the race as well because of a controversy surrounding Mike's advocacy of euthanasia and the death of a patient at the hospital. The bad publicity for the Horton family cost him the victory, which went to a third-party candidate. Mickey continued to work as D.A., but soon formed his own practice with Jill Bailey.

But while the law firm satisfied Mickey's career needs, it took up most of his time. By early 1990, Mickey was barely at home and spending more time with Jill than with his own wife. However, Mickey didn't notice that he wasn't giving Maggie as much attention; he also didn't notice that Maggie began spending a lot of time with Neil Curtis. As it turned out, Neil and Maggie were having an affair. They had grown close after she discovered that he was Sarah's real father, not Evan Whyland. Mickey remained clueless until the following year, when Sarah told him everything. She had found Neil and Maggie together in bed. Mickey threatened to divorce Maggie, but resolved to work out their problems. They did, and they have been happily married since. It also helped that Neil conveniently disappeared from Salem.

In 1994, Mickey was overjoyed to see Laura alive and well, after she had supposedly died in a fire at Pine Haven Sanitarium. Bill came back to reunite with his wife, but Laura revealed quite publicly that the reason she had suffered a mental breakdown all those years ago was because Bill had cheated on her with Kate Roberts. Mickey once again was furious at his brother, but they managed to work it out.

In May, Mickey's father passed away. Mickey and Maggie supported each other during this sad time.

Since then, Mickey has not done too much except work. He defended Billie Reed when she was accused of her father's murder. Mickey was also Roman's lawyer when he divorced Marlena. He also rescued Laura and Jennifer from a scaffold on the side of University Hospital. In addition, Mickey got the death certificate for Hope, so that Bo and Billie could get married in 1994. In 1995, Mickey gained control of Peter Blake's drug-infested nightclub The Warehouse. As far as we know, he still owns it. In November, because Bill couldn't come, Mickey gave Jen away at her wedding to Peter. After Tony DiMera died, Mickey defended John Black, even though he heard Tony accusing John of being the one who shot him. In 1996, Mickey defended Jack Deveraux after he was accused of murdering Peter. In 1998, Sami hired him as her lawyer in the custody battle for her son Will (even though the opposite party, Lucas Roberts, was Mickey's nephew!)

Maggie "died" as a result of the Salem Stalker. Mickey eventually became involved with Bonnie Lockhart. They day they were to be married Maggie came back from the dead. Her death was a part of an evil Dimera plot played out with Tony Dimera at the helm. Eventually Mickey and Maggie worked things out and got back together.

For now, Mickey is living the good life, working continuously, and enjoying a wonderful marriage to Maggie.
