Tangonave Trio Biographies
From different time settings and musical spaces, Luis Ferreyra
(1958), Adrián Ramirez (1967) and Juan Pietranera (1977) have inevitably and
definitely crossed their route within Tango.
Since the beginning in 1994, they have performed in many
International Festivals, Theaters, Concert halls, Cultural Events, Clubs, ...
and suburban Cafes and off places as well.
Going through solitary adventures and ritual groups,
these three navigators face their unavoidable urge to set off in order to
experience and sense Tango confines while looking for their Buenos Aires,
the one which lays the foundations of their vessel. |
Luis Alberto Ferreyraflute
Born September 19, 1958 in Buenos Aires, he started his music studies on guitar with Consuelo Mallo López.
After that, he studied flute with his father, Luis A. Ferreyra (Chachi).
He attended flute courses and seminars with: Felix Rengli (Switzerland),
Andras Adorjan (Hungary), Silvia Navarro (Uruguay), Jorge de la Vega and
Horacio Parravicini (Argentina).
Guitar seminars by Pat Metheny and Larry Carlton.
Harmony and Improvisation by Gary Burton, Steve Swallow, Anthony Jackson,
Ernie Watts and Walt Weiskopf.
Currently, he is a member of "Ensamble Antognazzi", directed by
Argentine pianist Aldo Antognazzi, performing in such venues as: Salon
Dorado of Municipalidad de La Plata , Teatro Argentino de la Plata, Teatro del
Circulo de Rosario.
The Ensamble will be touring the USA and Europe in February and march 2000,
tour sponsored by the Cancillería Argentina, Department of Cultural affairs.
He performed with Orquesta Sinfónica de Olavarria, playing flute and
piccolo and Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, playing electric guitar.
He performed in Argentina and abroad with Osvaldo Piro and Kelo Palacios,
and also collaborated with guitar players Victor Villadangos and Máximo Pujol.
In 1981, he performed at Teatro Municipal General San Martin, in the
play "El Burgues Gentilhombre" by Moliere, directed by Luis Maria Serra.
In 1983, he performed in the music show "Buenos Aires Corazón" (music by
Astor Piazzolla), together with Daniel Piazzolla, Daniel Binelli,
Horacio Ferrer and Oscar Cardozo Ocampo.
In popular music, he performed and recorded with numerous jazz, folk
and tango groups, among which are :
"Pocho Lapouble y Asociados Orchestra", "Buenos Aires Jazz Fusion",
"Adalberto Cevasco Cuarteto" and musicians such as :
Hugo Pierre, Fat Fernandez, Andres Boiarski, Cesar Franov, Daniel
Binelli, Walter Rios, Ruben Barbieri, Orquesta de Mariano Mores,
Los de Salta, Las Voces de Oran, Julia Elena Davalos, Luis Miguel, Julia Zenko.

Juan Pietranera
piano
Born January 23, 1977, in Buenos Aires, he started playing the piano at
the age of 10 with Alicia Cipolla.
He is a graduate from "Conservatorio Nacional de Música Carlos López Buchardo"
(1997), where he studied with Juan Carlos Arabián , Antonio
Russo, Luis Arias and Amalia Espora.
Currently he is doing a postgraduate course with Juan Carlos Arabián.
He studied harmony and composition with Máximo Pujol, actually he is
studding composition with Luis Mucillo.
In 1999 he was chosen as a finalist at the "Concurso Promociones Musicales 1999"
Bs.As.
He attended a piano course about Ravel given by Cloude Boesman (France)
in the Alianza Francesa from Bs. As.
Since 1998 he has been developing his career, giving concerts in: Museo
Raggio, Sala Tudor (Conservatorio Nacional de Música Carlos López
Buchardo), Alianza Francesa, Instituto Luchelli Bonadeo.
He also collaborated with flute players Mariela Navergoy and Cristian Faig
performing in "Centro Cultural Casa Puente" and in private auditions.
In addition, he performed in popular music groups.
He composed music for two theatre plays: "Chirimbolos y Cositas" by
Maestro y Vainman and "El Tucan Escoces" by Mirko Buchin, presented in
Casa de la Cultura de la Municipalidad de Olivos and Biblioteca Municipal de
Olivos, respectively, both in 1996.

Adrian Ramirez

Born in 1967, he comes from the city of Mar del Plata. He began his
studies at "Conservatorio Nacional de Música Carlos López Buchardo" in
1986, he got his degree as Musical Teacher en 1996, being a student of
Graciela Pomponio de Martinez Zarate.
At the same time, since 1986, he had private lessons with Roberto Lara,
Liliana Ardissone, Eduardo Egüez, Dolores Costoyas, Horacio Cevallos,
Miguel Angel Girolet, Victor Villadangos , and took part in different
courses and seminars in and out of Argentina.
Since 1995 he studies ancient music with Hopkinson Smith, Eduardo Egüez
and Dolores Costoyas being his instrument the reinaissance vihuela.
In 1998 he composed the "Oratual Group", playing different
latinoamerican instruments. That group played popular latinoamerican
music, leaded by an ex-member of the Chilean group Quilapayún.
Since 1989 he has been developing his musical career taking part of
different music groups like Orpheus Trio, where he was chosen as a
finalist winner at Segunda Bienal de Arte Joven in Bs. As. in 1991.
Since 1993 he is a soloist playing music of different authors and styles.
He has taken part in different concerts in Buenos Aires and the interior
cities of Argentina as: Teatro Auditorium de Mar del Plata, Biblioteca
Municipal Mar del Plata, Centro Argentino de Ingenieros, Capilla de San
Marcos Sierras (Cordoba), Iglesia Sueca, Bienal de Arte Joven de Bs. As.
in Puerto Madero, Camping Musical Bariloche, Centro Cultural Borges, Feria
del Libro (1995), etc.
