Memorial to Tanya Burr, 1981-2002
Tanya's car, after the crash on 30 August 2001
1993 Honda Integra v tree!
Damage included the passenger side of the car and smashed back and side windows, but not the door's window.
Tanya was most upset about her "broken" left back wheel (bottom photo). No-one else could understand how a steel wheel could 'break' - until it proved to be the shattered plastic hubcap. Then started the 'blonde' jokes! Tanya is shown in two of the photos with her cushions just retrieved from the car.
The photos on the previous pages were taken for insurance purposes, but to no avail. While she had hit loose metal that had lost its marker cones overnight (she saw them replaced as she waited in a neighbouring house), the insurance company felt that driving on the wrong level of licence meant something and declined to pay out. The result was - several months later - the very distinctive patch-up (undercoat) paint job that resulted in the car being found instantly after Tanya's murder and the reporting over the police radio of its theft. A cop happened to be driving passed it when the report came over.
