Memorial to Tanya Burr, killed 15 September 2002

Snapshots of Tanya in July 2002

Tanya unexpectedly photographed (hence the half-blink!) on 2 July 2002 by Anita's father, Trevor, who was on holiday at the time at Mt. Maunganui. Trevor wrote an article on this visit by Tanya, which features elsewhere on this website. Trevor, who Tanya clearly regarded for years as a substitute Dad, was staying there in his mother's caravan at the time, and Tanya had spent the day there. Despite the serious-looking photo, he said she was her normal self that day. He had forgotten taking this photo and was surprised and very pleased to find it when he had the film developed after Tanya's funeral. (Photo: Trevor Bennett)

Tanya having a cigarette on our front terrace on approx. 16 July 2002, having arrived for a visit on 15 July. The joy of a scanner means you can crop out your messy mid-winter garden instead of forcing the world to look at it. This was Tanya's usual 'smoking spot'! (Photo: Val)
