REFLECTION

  • Throughout this unit, the students were actively engaged in all of the technology projects. The students loved working on the Internet scavenger hunt that I had created. The students worked very hard on their Power Point presentations. The presentations turned out very creative and well organized. Many students went above and beyond the requirements and added sound effects and animations. The students also really loved creating and performing the Ensemble. Many of them told me that they had never used microphones or sound equipment before and they were really excited to be using them.

  • One thing that I learned through this unit is that students work at different paces and have different comfort levels when dealing with technology. This was evident during the Power Point Presentations. I had to extend the deadline because many students, even though they were on task, could not keep up with the rest of the students. The next time I attempt this unit I will make sure that I have lessons planned for those who finish early and make sure I have enough time for those who are slower on the computers.

  • Overall, the units went well and I was able to accomplish everything that was needed to be accomplished. I could really tell the difference in the student’s enthusiasm for their state projects completing it through Power Point rather than writing a book report. Both the students and I learned a lot about technology this semester. I plan to utilize my future school’s technology to the fullest. It was a valuable experience interning at Moorsbridge, Elementary and I am glad I took advantage of all the technology that is offered to the teachers and the students.
