Sunny Scarborough a hit with megastar Ewan

Forget the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, megastar actor Ewan McGregor has revealed he prefers sunny Scarborough. The star fell in love with the North Yorkshire seaside town while shooting hit movie Little Voice. He said: ‘I loved Scarborough very much and liked working there.

‘If I had day off during Little Voice I used to think, “I think I'll go and spend a day playing in the arcades”.

‘It's just great. There's something really satisfying about the kind of history of those places.’

The star of Black Hawk Down talks about his enthusiasm for Scarborough in an interview to be shown on the FilmFour channel next month.

He said: ‘We had a crazy night up there with Michael Caine at this mad, mad Scarborough nightclub.

‘The DJ put on that track in Trainspotting where they'd lifted my voice over . . . and the DJ said: “Ewan McGregor does his shopping in here”.

‘I looked up and there was no one standing round me and I was just being watched dancing. It was hugely embarrassing.’
