Hi everybody! This is a great idea to keep us Geordies in touch with what's going on back home. I've been in Canada since 1966 and my maiden name was Andrea Smith. My Mam was Rene Kennedy and she worked at British Ropes (Haggi's). I went to Stephenson Memorial Secondary School (1955-59). I would love to hear from anybody who knows me or my family. Since my Mam and her sisters died I miss getting the 'gossip' from home! Keep up the good work Sue!!!

Hi, great site, love reading all the memories brings back mine. I used to be Joan Farn, I lived on Bethune Ave, then Princess Road, my sister is Marjorie, my mam Isabel (Watson), my dad James Farn, my nana Edith Watson (formly Svenson). My mam used to work in Elliotts bakery on Princess Rd, then the VG shop that the Parkinsons owned. Would love to hear from anyone who knows me or my family.!

Like to hear from anyone who spent their childhood in the thirties in Darlington. Perhaps memories of Tom Mix on Saturdays at the Central Cinema that we called the "Loppy Opera" when they charged two jamjars admission! I am 73 and have been in the Phils since 1993. As a child I went to Gurney Pease School on Albert Hill.!

Hello there, how's things? I left Gateshead in 1973, worked at the British Ropes for 5 years. Lived in Springwell then moved to the Leam Lane and Heworth. I played darts around the Gateshead and Newcastle areas for quite a while. I have searched quite a few Geordie sites but still haven't heard from anyone. I enjoy it so I shall keep trying, you never know - one day! OK you all, take care now won't you? Bye! Tony.!

Hi Everyone....Mary and I emigrated to New Zealand 1974. We live in the centre of the North Island of N.Z. I was born in Ryhope and Mary was born in Hendon.Sunderland. We have many Geordie friends here in N.Z.and around the world who we keep in contact with. We are still very much Geordies at heart. We are retired now (Just!). Give us a call via email. We would love to hear from you. We keep in contact with the North East via Sue Kelly who does a wonderful job. Cheers for now. Gerry and Mary. All the best to our Geordie friend in Australia!

I am looking for Diana Hocking who used to live at Glenbrooke Terrace, Low Fell. We went to Dame Allan's in the early 1950's. Anyone have any news of her?!

Hi folks, where is everyone! My husband and I visited Sunderland in August, and apart from family, we didn't meet anyone that we knew. Has everyone emigrated? If you see this and you know me, drop me a line. Hilda Ord (nee Mills)!

I've now lived in Australia for 35 years, and couldn't live anywhere else. It's OK to visit the UK, but only during the summer months, but this is now home. I'll always be a Geordie, but the accent is getting less and less.!

I spent six years with the Birmingham Police Force (1957 - 1963) and, during that time, had some memorable times with North-Easterners like Frank Quinn from Newcastle and Eric Graham from Consett. I also visited my uncle, the late Bill Green, in Hartlepool and learned from him about such things as monkey hangers and Old Peculier. I'm now retired after 32 years with the Ottawa Police and I'd like to hear from any ex-Brum coppers who may remember me!
