Test Images taken with Canon EOS 350D

I am obsessed with film images, especially wide field ones.

But

We have less and less blue skies recent years because of more and more air pollutant from Pearl River Delta region. Moreover, the no. of cloudless night is rare per year. To complete exposure on one roll of 36-frame 35mm film, it may take at least one month, sometimes even upto half of a year.

So

I bought this 350D in July last year. Because, to see the result, it is no longer to wait for the roll of film developed one month later or even longer.

However

Up to now, I use this camera for astrophotography just up to 10 times. Experience in using DSLR is very limited.

So sorry

The quality of all the images posted here could not meet any standard. They are my "test shots" only to let me see how image quality varies against ISO speed, jpeg vs raw, using a LPS filter or not.

To save time

Most of the images were captured unguided and polar alignment was done with help from the built-in polar scope only.

My preference

Try to process all these deep sky digital images as natural as possible and less contrast so as to have a "film taste". Most of them were stacked in Registax V3.0 and only Level & Curve stretching in Photoshop 7.0.

Next time

With all the experience learnt from these test shots, I think I could do it better and more seriously.

Wish

All of you might love to take a look, and from them, you could also see the optical qualities delivered by some Vixen scopes in deep sky imaging  .

If

You find quality of them below standard, please don't laugh.  Because up to now I don't know how to do flat field and layer mask processing  skills.

Absolutely appreciated

With all of your comments, especially on processing skills and how to reduce the noise.

Thank you for your looking.

All images shown in my page were processing without any layer mask and flat field processing skills.
