I used to say I have a "knitting problem," but now it's turned into an "everything-fiber-related problem." Really. It's gotten bad. I love fiber and could roll around in wool, yarn and fat quarters forever. Bizarre, I know.

Working with fiber, especially if you can occasionally splurge on a nice yarn, is intoxicating. Now that my stash is obscene, I've taken the whole thing up a notch and have started spinning on a drop spindle. You can see my first handspun yarn here in this hat I made. I have a big bag of washed Border Leicester that I am handcarding to rolags and spinning, too...I love it! I also have a spinning wheel on the way from an e-friend in Canada. The check is in the mail and I can't wait for my new Kiwi to get here! I also just joined the East Tennessee Handspinners Guild which has been a wonderful place to learn about fiber and handspinning.

Anyway, I have a great list of links for you to peruse. I have crocheted on and off since I was a kid, but believe it or not, I have only been knitting since Fall 2000. I decided I would try to learn to knit so I could make some scarves and an afghan for my family for Christmas and kept at it. My first sweater was horrendous (it looked fine except for the torso which flared out like the base of a triangle), but I'm so proud of it! I call it the "garbage bag" sweater, which describes its elegant shaping. ;-)
