Episode 39 
Carlos Alberto follows Virginia in his car when she leaves the house to visit Rodrigo. Elena intercepts Carlos Alberto causing him to lose sight of Virginia. Violeta tells Aldo Virginia has a lover whom she sees in her bedroom. Danilo demands to know why his mother has forced Maricruz to enter the convent. Anabella is informed by Dr. Cartaya her face will be scarred but it will be all right after a few operations. Rodrigo tells Virginia he loves her. Maximiliana cruelly tells Maricruz she wanted to go through an abortion when she conceived her but Alirio didn't let her do it. Zaira confesses to Rodrigo she loves him. Santiago informs Vanessa he has no intention at all to abandon his wife. Memito asks Virginia to make his father go back to the house. Sagrario takes out of Raquel's handbag the love letter Carlos Alberto sent Virginia and burns it to ashes. Raquel becomes furious and tries to strike her. Anabella challenges Carlos Alberto to kiss her if he doesn't feel repelled by her. 

Episode 40 
Sagrario beleives Lupita's boyfriend is Federico, the driver. Later on she discovers it's Junior and is sorry about it, telling Lupita he will never marry her because she doesn't belong to his class. Tita already knows Aldo loves Maricruz. Alirio wishes Carlos Alberto to give up through a notarized waiver any and all usufructs regarding Anabella's fortune when they get married, including the silver factory. However, he refuses. Father Chema receives a letter from Maricruz and confronts Maximiliana who tells him that the girl can leave the convent whenever she wishes and return home, also that they do not hate the Junqueras. Zaira gives Carlos Alberto an address where to find the man Virginia sees. He goes looking for him, but Rodrigo is not in. Later on he goes back, Rodrigo leaves the door ajar and tells him: Come in, son. Carlos Alberto is shocked. 

Episode 41 
Rodrigo explains to Carlos Alberto his reasons for having disappeared. The two of them come to the conclusion it will be easier to recover what was taken away from them by the Roldans once he marries Anabella. Anabella swears she'll make Carlos Alberto suffer no end for having deceived her. Lupita is sure Junior will marry her but she leaves the house anyway supposedly for a week, but she has other plans. Rodrigo returns to his house that night and only Memito sees him. He knows he must remain in the house so that Alirio doesn't know he's alive. Zaira tells Alirio she doesn't love him anymore and throws him out of the bar. Virginia refuses to remain in the same room with Rodrigo when he demands his husbandly rights. Carlos Alberto and Virginia advise the rest of the family there will be a meeting on the following day. Alirio engages Elizabeth to watch Virginia all the time. Rodrigo appears before the family and everybody is shocked. 

Episode 42 
Lupita visits Zenaida and tells her she has to look for a job, she faints and Zenaida tells her the same happened to a friend of hers who is pregnant. Tita lies to Maricruz by telling her Aldo loves her and he only passed the time with Maricruz. Making her very, very sad. Rodrigo tells his children Virginia was never his mistress and demands that they respect her. Junior tells Sagrario he only had fun with Lupita and that if she conceives a baby of his she'll have to look for a father for it. Rodrigo asks Virginia if she wants to have a baby with him. The bandages are taken off Anabella's face and when she sees herself in the mirror screams and says she looks like a monster. Sagrario tells Rodrigo he has no right to demand Virginia to love him and he would do well to give her a divorce. She remarks he could be not only her father but her grandfather. Violeta complains she was never loved by her parents. Anabella tears apart her wedding dress
