DIARY

OCTOBER 2002

10/17/02: This is the message on Hard Candy's home page... (Looks like they're revamping again. Hope it doesn't take another year again.)

10/14/02: Still quiet Hard Candy wise... Anticipating some winter products. Hope they release a fun Holiday line.

AUGUST 2002

08/16/02: Not much new to report Hard Candy-wise... I have noticed that the company blurbs are leaving out Dineh Mohajer's story and focusing on the company being "all about L.A." etc... Interesting. Have heard from a few site visitors... Thanks to you all for your kind words about the site. I appreciate your taking out the time to write! And I love answering product questions when I can, so keep 'em coming! :-)

JUNE 2002

06/22/02: Haven't ordered any new Hard Candy in awhile. I moved to a new apartment in May and just haven't had the cash to spare since all of it has been going into decorating the new apartment. The two things that I most want to try are the Liquid fragrance and Dillusional eye quad. If anyone out there has tried either, let me know!

MARCH 2002

03/26/02: Ordered the new nail polish shades from Sephora. Just knew I wouldn't be able to live without adding the new shades to the collection... ;-)

03/13/02: Hard Candy finally released their fragrance. It is called "Liquid" and looks promising... They also released 3 new nail polish shades. I'm tempted to buy them to add to my collection... but I was a little disappointed at the chipping problem I've encountered with the polish I've bought in their new bottles. Some others have said that HC polish has chipped all along, but I hadn't had a problem with that until recently. I might end up buying them anyway. I know I'll regret it later when they aren't available. They also released their version of the ubiquitous "pen" lip color. The shades match the polish... Flash, Flicker, and Mirage. And finally, they have unveiled a new eye shadow quad called Dillusional. The colors look very iridescent in light shades. I'm tempted to buy that too. Ah heck, who am I kidding? I want the entire spring line! >:-)

FEBRUARY 2002

02/01/02: Wow, its been a few months since I've updated this section... Ummmmm... Not much new as far as Hard Candy purchases. I have heard through the grapevine that Hard Candy will be releasing a fragrance in the future. I wonder what it will smell like? Stay tuned. :-) Hard Candy posted their new look a few months ago. The site looks cute. Lots of green... I hope they keep up with the updates.

OCTOBER 2001

10/25/01: Am totally dying to buy one of the new Palm Palettes... Am leaning towards Girlie because I like browns. Tempted to get both -- but don't want to be greedy... >:-) The mini nail teasers are also calling my name. The only problem is that I have the big versions of almost all of them. Seems silly to buy duplicates. But, they're soooooo darn cute!

AUGUST 2001

08/21/01: Just ordered more crap from Sephora. I'm an addict -- what can I say? I ordered a Plush Glitter Eye Pencil and Glitter Dip Lipstick in Stop!. While I was already there spending my dough, I picked up an Urban Decay Sparkler Pen in Litter and some Sephora Collection Loose Glitter in Violet #9.

08/19/01: Just ordered some HC stuff from Sephora... Glitter Mascara in Freeze, Glitter Dip Lipstick in Sonic, and Sonic Sparkle Dust in Plush. Also, some Jezebel lipstick from Urban Decay. Tried another one of the new nail polish shades -- Skimpy...

  • Skimpy - A white shade that looks almost lilac in some light. Appears to have silver glitter in it in the bottle, but you can't see the glitter when the polish is applied. A nice subtle shade. Reminiscent of Urban Decay's Flourescent. Cute on toes in particular.

08/09/01: I'm looking forward to trying the new Sonic Glitters. I've been addicted to glittery eye makeup for a long time. I have way too much as it is though...

08/09/01: My review of the first batch of "NEW" nail polish colors...

  • Erogenous - A dark burgundy metallic shade. Very nice. Sophisticated. Will be perfect for Fall.
  • Anonymous - Goes on as a very pretty salmon shade. Looks lighter on than in the bottle. I LOVE this shade. My favorite of the lot.
  • After Hours - Looks like red glitter in the bottle. Is more fuchsia on unless you coat like 4-5 layers. Pretty.
  • Solar - A nice subtle yellowish gold shade. Very wearable (unlike many yellowish nail polishes).
  • Sell Out - A gorgeous teal green with gold sparkles. Very unusual. Very rock star. LOVE it and received many compliments the day I wore it to work.

08/08/01 - Hard Candy.com is soon going to have a new look! I went to the id society web site and it looks like there new site will be very green.

JULY 2001

07/19/01: Received the new nail polish! The colors are gorgeous. Many are sparkly and/or iridescent. I can't wait to dig in and try them all. The rubber rings now include a little "gem" embedded in the front of them. Trés cute. Four of them arrived broken :( so I had to reorder those and send the broken ones back. One shade, Piglet, wasn't available at Sephora.com so I had to order it from Macys.com instead.

07/12/01: Bought all of the new nail polish shades that were available from Sephora.com. Spent tons and tons of money like the nailpolish-aholic that I am.

JUNE 2001

loner_spacey.gif (14151 bytes)06/02/01: Bought some HC goodies from Sephora. I was jonesing to try the eyeshadow loners -- so I ordered 4 of them... Love Child (light brown), Groove (shimmy purple), Pink Eye (pink), and a mauve colored one whose name escapes me at the moment. They're great. The Quads are a tad more convenient -- but the loners are good for when you only want to wear one color at a time and they're small and wonderfully portable!

MAY 2001

05/16/01 - Hard Candy has updated their official site to include their newest Spring/Summer 2001 products. They also have a new contest going on in conjunction with Motorola to win a phone with special Hard Candy faceplate, matching nail polish, and a trip. You can also buy the faceplate/nail polish combo at Motorolla's site. Check this site out for fun Hard Candy/Motorola games. View their cool Flash movie!

New sections include one devoted to the newest glitter products... http://www.hardcandy.com/whatsnew/whatsnew_glitter.html; and one devoted to the contest... http://www.hardcandy.com/whatsnew/whatsnew_phone.html; and one devoted to the goldie line... http://www.hardcandy.com/whatsnew/whatsnew_goldie.html. Its cool stuff!

APRIL 2001

04/19/01: Just received my new goodies from Sephora... Roller Girl in "Glow" and the Sonic Stick glitter. Both are trés cute! Love em... Want more and more and more and more...

04/15/01: New stuff at Sephora.com includes...

Hard Candy Super Shine Lip Gloss ($12) - These are cool... I have a couple of them. They are gooey, but do give your kisser a nice shine. Shades include: Babydoll, Fresh, Nylon, Oxy, Pop, & Sweetie. All shades mentioned except Oxy & Pop are new. And for anyone who cares, these are Leann Rimes favorite lip glosses. She was quoted in a magazine saying, "I've just got to have my Candy!"

Roller Girl ($18) - Shake, Rattle and Shimmer! Give face an all over glittery luster - go for pink (Glow), or bronze (Vegas). This liquid face shimmer goes on smooth thanks to the easy-to-apply roller ball bottle. I just ordered Glow. I think it will be cute to wear this summer. I also ordered the Sonic Stick. I had been wanting to get it for awhile and its always been sold out.

Hard Candy Lip Gloss Cube Set ($24) - Kit includes four glistening shades Haze (metallic purple), Blur (metallic silvery-white), Icky (metallic white-peach), and Angel (metallic beige-gold) - that taste and smell like cake batter. This is a great deal considering that one cube costs $12 bucks. You get 4 for the price of 2.

Pixie, Platinum & Sonic Techno Glitter Hair Spray ($15) - Still worry they'll make me look like I have dandruff. If anyone out there has tried it... let me know! ;-)

04/14/01: Since Nov. 2000, I have purchased some new nail polish colors. They are: Love Child, Icky, Girlie, & Stop. All are sparkly polishes infused with microglitter. Stop is red, Girlie is green, Love Child is pale brown, and Icky is mauve-ish pink. All are very gorgeous and will be perfect shades to go with this seasons sandals on your toes (and of course on your fingernails.)

NOVEMBER 2000

11/04/00 - Hard Candy's official web site has finally launched! Kick it at http://www.hardcandy.com/ to check it out! Yippee!!!! :-)
