Tyler James Monroe EXT. SKYLINE OF GREEN BAY WISCONSIN - ESTABLISHING DAY CITY COURTHOUSE-JAIL INT. TYLERS CELL Tyler is in a small cell with two other young men. CELLMATE ONE (looking at Tyler) So what are you in for kid? TYLER (somber) Building illegal machine guns. CELLMATE TWO (shouting) How many counts? TYLER I think fifty, maybe more. CELLMATE ONE Holy shit they are going to throw The key away on you dude! (extending his hand for a hand shake) The names Jerry O'Conner, and this Is my buddy Sam Klemper. CELLMATE TWO (laughing) So what's your sentence, five thousand years! TYLER I think I will be in the custody of my Father till I'm twenty-one. My father is A Sheriff. JERRY (pissed) Oh really, if it were one of us we would Be in the federal jail house for the Rest of our natural lives. SAM No shit, so what makes you so special? JERRY You dumb shit, he's the Sheriff's son He can get away with murder, right (looking at Tyler) Dip-shit! TYLER Leave me alone. JERRY What you gonna do, call your daddy On us? Well go ahead! Jerry looks away from Tyler, looks at his buddy Sam And let's go with a tremendous right knockout punch to Tyler's jaw. Tyler goes down like a sack of potatoes and is out like a light. SAM When he wakes up, I'll do it again To this pussy. Jerry and Sam step back when they see an eerie glow Start to form over Tyler's body. His head appears to Be growing and all the hair is coming off. His ears And nose are shrinking, his skin is starting to turn A very light whitish gray. His eyes are enlarging And become very large. The boys are in deep shock when They see this transformation take place. JERRY Holy shit, this guy is turning into A spaceman, lets call the jailer And get the fuck out of here! (yelling) Jailer, .... Jailer help, help hurry! The jailer comes running up to the cell and goes into Shock when he sees Tyler's transformation. He runs Up to the cell door opens it and motions for the Boys to get out. JAILER What the fuck is this! When Jerry and Sam are out he slams the door Closed and places the boys in another cell. The jailer runs over to his office and picks up the phone and dials. JAILER Sheriff, this is Earl over at the jail, your son is turning into a space man or something, you better come over now! (A beat). I know it's late but I'll keep the back door open, ok see you then. CUT TO: EXT. SKYLINE OF GREEN BAY WISCONSIN - GREEN BAY HOSPITAL INT. TYLERS HOSPTIAL ROOM Tyler is in a bed with IV's in his left arm. His Parents are standing by and they are talking to the Doctor. SHERIFF What is wrong with him doctor, is he Going to die? DOCTOR (middle age man) I have never seen anything like this before. The closest to a phenomenon like this when a person's hair turns white from fright. I think he had a very traumatic experience in that cell and it caused some kind of a recessive gene to trigger this. MARY JO (crying) Is he going to die doctor? DOCTOR We will know more in the next twenty- Four hours. SHERIFF The boys in the cell with Tyler Said they got into an argument and one of them socked him in the Jaw. DOCTOR The blow to the jaw only caused The trauma which caused this Dramatic change to start. MARY JO What is going on! How could this Happen to my beautiful baby boy. A nurse walks into the room with a clipboard and calls Over the Doctor and they talk in very low tones. NURSE This is the blood report Dr. Mason and I have Checked it twice, and it's right. DR. MASON This can't be right nurse Dillon, It just can't be right. He turns around and faces Mary Jo and the Sheriff. DR. MASON Are you aware, your son has a blood type we can't identify? SHERIFF What in god's name are you talking about? DR. MASON The blood type is not of this world! CUT TO: EXT. GREEN BAY HOSPITAL INT. HOSPTIAL WAITING ROOM Sheriff Monroe is sitting on the couch with Mary Jo. SHERIFF Mary Jo what the hell is going on? MARY JO (crying) I don't know, I don't know! SHERIFF MONROE You are lying to me, I know you are! Who is Tyler's father? MARY JO (still crying) Like I said, I don't know. James, when you left me I was really Lonely so one Sunday morning I took The bus to Alpine. When I arrived You were out of town so I decided To hitchhike home. A nice family Picked me up and drove me within Fifty miles of home. It was a very Lonely stretch of the highway. I Needed to go to the bathroom so I Ducked into a growth of trees. I Was off the highway about fifty Yards in a small meadow, when it happened. SHERIFF MONROE What happened? MARY JO A large noise from above, then I Saw a green light surround me, I Passed out with fright, then when I woke up I was laying on a very Cold table. I had no clothes on And this thing, about four feet tall with a very large head and big dark eyes was looking down at me then it happened. SHERIFF MONROE What? MARY JO He or she injected me with something In my private part and I passed out Again. SHERIFF MONROE Then . . . MARY JO I woke up laying on my back in the Meadow where it first started. SHERIFF JAMES Were you clothed? MARY JO Yes, I was fully clothed. SHERIFF JAMES So did you call the police? MARY JO (very emotional) Would you. What am I suppose To say, officer I was abducted By something from somewhere and It did dirty things to me so Will you please catch it or them. SHERIFF MONROE You have lied to me so many times I don't know when you are finally Telling me the truth. MARY JO Well look at Tyler now, does he look Like you or me? SHERIFF MONROE Ok, I'm convinced, so what do we do now? Judge Bush walks into the room and stares at both of them JUDGE BUSH Sheriff, I have been contacted by an organization in the Federal Government and they have denied my request to have Tyler remanded to you. SHERIFF MONROE Why? JUDGE BUSH Somehow, they found out he may be useful in answering some question related to his . . . father. MARY JO You mean they want to dissect him just like a frog. Those bastards are not going to touch my son. JUDGE BUSH They promised me they will keep him in a safe place until, they are finished, then they will request permission to give him to the Sheriff. MARY JO And how long will that be? JUDGE BUSH No more than six months. Remember at this point he is an illegal Alien, born here by an earth mother but his father is not an American citizen. MARY JO Bullshit, they will take him, over my dead body. I'm going home to get my gun. I will do this with or without you James and as far as your concerned judge, . . . Fuck you, and the horse you came into town on. I will not go down without a fight! Mary Jo gets up off the couch and runs out of the room. Leaving the Judge and the Sheriff standing there with their mouths open. JUDGE BUSH Spunky isn't she! SHERIFF MONROE You have no idea! JUDGE BUSH Well Sheriff I leave this in your hands, do the best you can, and I hope I don't have to call in the State Police SWAT Team to subdue her! The Judge leaves the room and Sheriff Monroe standing there in a daze. SHERIFF MONROE Shit . . . shit . . . The nurse starts yelling for Sheriff Monroe. NURSE (VO) Sheriff, hurry , hurry! Sheriff Monroe runs to the rear of the building floor where the lock-up rooms are located. He is shocked to see Tyler is missing and the nurse is standing there looking through the small window and screaming at the top of her lungs. NURSE (Yelling) I came into check on him and he jumped off the bed, pushed me down on the floor and took my keys! He ran down the side hallway if you hurry, you can catch him. Please open the door! Sheriff Monroe pulls his pass key out of his key ring and opens the door. The nurse runs out of the room screaming down the hall. SHERIFF MONROE (Talking to him self) What now! A young nurse comes running into the room and is shocked to see Tyler is missing. YOUNG NURSE So where the hell is Tyler? SHERIFF MONROE The other nurse said he pushed her aside when she came into check on him and he ran down the hall. YOUNG NURSE What other nurse, I'm the only one here tonight! SHERIFF MONROE Are you sure? An older doctor walks up and looks in Tyler's empty cell. DOCTOR So what did you do with the kid nurse Wells? NURSE WELLS The Sheriff said another nurse was here and Tyler overpowered her and dashed out the side door. Dr. Ross, do we have another nurse here in lockup tonight. DOCTOR ROSS Tonight there is one doctor and one nurse in lock-up, you must be mistaken Sheriff. SHERIFF (under his breath) Metamorphosis himself into the Nurse. DOCTOR ROSS I'm sorry Sheriff, did you say something. SHERIFF Oh no, I guess I must have made a mistake. DOCTOR ROSS Sheriff will you call the State Police and get an all points bulletin on Tyler, ok? SHERIFF ROSS Of course, I'll take care of it. CUT TO: EXT. GREEN BAY HOSPITAL INT. HOSPTIAL ENTRANCE Sheriff Monroe has called Mary Jo to meet him as soon as possible. She walks in the door and stops when she sees the Sheriff waiting for her inside the entrance to the hospital. SHERIFF MONROE Mary Jo we need to talk. He guides her over to the conference room and they sit down and start to talk. SHERIFF MONROE (Cont.) (SINCERE) Mary Jo, . . . Tyler has escaped. MARY JO (excited) You let him go? SHERIFF MONROE We don't exactly know how he did it he just did and I don't have a clue where he is. Do you have any idea where he could be hiding? MARY JO I have no idea, maybe he will call me. SHERIFF MONROE I think we need to go to Lake Geneva and see if he shows up there. MARY JO That's a good idea, when to you want to leave? SHERIFF MONROE Are you ready to leave right now? MARY JO Take me by the motel and I'll pick up my things and we'll DO IT! CUT TO: EXT. LAKE GENEVA WISCONSIN - ESTABLISHING MORNING EXT. LAKE GENEVA SUMMER HOMES - EXT. AUNT MARGO'S TWO STORY SUMMER HOUSE James pulls his truck up in the driveway and turns off the ignition. He LOOKS AT Mary Jo, who has fallen asleep in the passenger seat. SHERIFF MONROE (quietly) Mary Jo we are at the summerhouse. Mary Jo wakes up and zippers up her jacket and opens the passenger door and gets out. INT. SUMMER HOUSE - KITCHEN Mary Jo is boiling water for coffee and has dropped two raspberry Tarts in the toaster. Sheriff Monroe has unfolded his detailed map of Lake Geneva. SHERIFF MONROE Mary Jo, did Tyler have any place up here that was a private place for him? MARY JO Not that I know of. Why don't you let the authorities look for him and you and I will wait here for him to call. The phone starts to ring . . . and Mary Jo picks up the receiver. MARY JO Hello . . . TYLER (V.O.) Mom, this is Tyler are you alone? Pick me up behind the Lake Geneva General Store, as soon as you can. MARY JO No Jason, Tyler is not here, yes it's good to have you back from College, when he gets in I'll have him call you ok. Bye! SHERIFF MONROE Who was it? MARY JO His friend Jason, . . . he just returned from College. SHERIFF MONROE You don't lie very well Mary Jo. It was Tyler , wasn't it? MARY JO Look you son of a bitch, why don't you just leave me alone. Go find your State Police and put a dragnet out for Tyler. How I ever thought I loved you, I'll never know. You are just a cold blooded bastard that don't care about anyone except himself. James, get the hell out of my house and my life. SHERIFF MONROE I'm sorry you feel that way Mary Jo. I'm only doing my job. MARY JO Fuck you and your job, now get the hell out before I get my shotgun. SHERIFF MONROE Sure I'll go. Sheriff Monroe walks out the door, gets in his truck and drives away. Mary Jo sees him drive out of sight, She turns off the kettle and grabs her coat, runs out the front door and gets in her truck and drives down the road to town. CUT TO: EXT. LAKE GENEVA WISCONSIN EXT. LAKE GENEVA VILLAGE EXT. LAKE GENEVA GENERAL STORE Mary Jo pulls her truck up in the rear of the General Store and turns off the ignition. She honks the horn. Tyler comes out from behind the dumpster and waves to her. He runs up to the truck and opens the passenger door gets in and locks the door. He throws his arms around his mother and kisses her. Mary Jo is in shock to see he looks very normal, with no trace of his transformation into the Alien. CUT TO: EXT. LAKE GENEVA WISCONSIN EXT. LAKE GENEVA VILLAGE EXT. LAKE GENEVA MINE Mary Jo pulls her truck up to front of the abandon mine. MARY JO (Urgency in her voice) No one must ever know you will be staying here. And I mean no one. TYLER (frightened) Mom, I'm so afraid. What if someone finds me in the middle of the night and hurts me. The trauma will turn me into that horrible monster that I was the last time. MARY JO Don't worry honey, mom will stay here with you. TYLER Thanks mom, that's a great relief. They unload the truck and go deep into the mine-shaft. INT. LAKE GENEVA MINE Mary Jo and Tyler are seen walking down the main shaft with two large flashlights. MARY JO How far back do you want to go honey? TYLER Mom, this is my hideaway, when you thought I was at the park playing ball I was here. MARY JO (Smiling) So that's where you were. TYLER Mom, I have a completely furnished home in here. They stop on the main shaft and go down a slender shaft that opens up into a large cavern. Mary Jo shows amazement when she sees how beautifully furnished the cavern is. MARY JO Tyler, this place is beautiful, how long did it take you to do this? TYLER About two years, off and on! I have enough provisions for a year. I have portable electric power. All the comforts of home. We have crystal clean water bubbling out of the underground spring. MARY JO (questioning) Tyler, why did you do all of this? Did you plan on running away from home or something? TYLER (Serious) I had no plans to run away from home, or anything else like that. I knew that they would eventually catch me and I planned ahead. MARY JO (Very emotional) You knew what you were doing was illegal? TYLER Yes mom I did. I saw how you were struggling to make both ends meet, so I knew I had to do something drastic so we could keep our head above water. Mom, where did you think I was getting the money I was giving you every week? MARY JO Son, I thought the gun-repairs paid you a very nice salary. TYLER I was aware of what I was doing and I knew the risks involved. MARY JO Honey, have you ever had any clue your father was of alien origin? TYLER (BEING HUMBLE) Mom, I don't think you can handle it. MARY JO Try me . . Tyler points to the sofa and motions her to sit down. TYLER You better sit down for this one. MARY JO Ok I'm ready. TYLER My father visited me here on my thirteenth birthday. MARY JO (Visibly shaken) Oh my dear God! TYLER First he told me about where he comes from. He refers himself to what is called the Grays. The grays stereo typically originate on a planet in the Zeta-Reticula star system. Zeta-Reticula is a known binary star system thus providing an interesting ecology for these beings to evolve. Several species of this type of star System would be a heightened occurrence of solar radiation, due to the emissions of two stars, prolonged rotational period of any planets orbiting the star, unstable orbits for any planetary bodies orbiting the stars, and extended orbital range probably some where around the half way point between Mars and Jupiter to avoid problems with an extended gravity well. MARY JO Slow down I am having a hard time following this. TYLER Sure Mom. We are basically looking at a world of extremes. Extreme light or darkness, probably a very cold world with ice and very little liquid water. Also producing a light atmosphere. MARY JO (carefully) Does your father look the same way as you looked in the cell? TYLER There is a reason for the species makeup. The degradation of the nose, almost to the point of a vestigial organ, light atmosphere? The degradation of the ear, low frequency communication? ESP? The degradation of the mouth, absorption of nutrients through skin? Supported by lack of intestinal tract, and lack of an anus. Endothermic, supports nocturnal theory. MARY JO Vestigial, Endothermic, honey where did those fifty-dollar words come from? TYLER Mom, I'm a pre-med. student and I'm up on all of those terms. MARY JO Ok, I'm sorry, go ahead. Is he a nice person? Is it true his species is abducting our people? TYLER The Grays are tagging us using special electromagnetic beacons or implants which give off a high frequency electromagnetic signature which is able to be tracked by special equipment. The Grays are abducting small segments of the population and conducting biological and behavioral tests. Such as reproductive analysis, mating, and other behavior response tests. MARY JO Is it true about, them killing livestock? TYLER The Grays are actively killing bovines and removing special parts of the animal. They are also continually abducting selected individuals over sometimes 30 year periods and passing on the trait from parent to child. MARY JO (Breaking down) What about what they did to me? TYLER They are actively impregnating women and removing the fetus, sometimes storing the fetus. In our case they decided to let you keep me for awhile. MARY JO For awhile, I don't understand? TYLER But why the impregnation? Simple, and coming to the root of my theory, to create a hybrid life form. The exact purpose of a hybrid is unclear, may be co-habitation of the Earth or a new labor force for their home world or just testing genetic manipulation. This would explain why the impregnation's and removal of the fetus, and possibly the later storage of the fetus. The hybrid in final stage development would be helpful to integration into the populace for further behavioral analysis on their part. In our case they let you keep me because they felt I would be of greater value to them as a Hybrid living with his Earth Mother. MARY JO (Starting to cry) From all this I assume you will be leaving me. TYLER I'm sorry mom, but my father will be picking me up on my eighteenth birthday. MARY JO (getting very emotional) Your eighteenth birthday is in two weeks. Oh god Tyler do you have to go? TYLER Mom, he wanted to take me at thirteen and I talked him out of it. He said he would give me five more years, but no more. MARY JO Will you come back? TYLER He wants me to go with him and the elders to search for another home. MARY JO Search for another home? I don't understand? TYLER Mom, their suns are burning out, by the year 2000, they will both go super nova and this will destroy all his people. They wanted to settle here on Earth but their fifty year study has proved they are just not adaptable to this environment. MARY JO I just don't understand why he needs you? TYLER Mom, I want to go with him, I've been with you almost eighteen years, so please let me go with him, I really need your support on this. MARY JO Will he let me go with you and him? TYLER Mom, you cannot survive the environment on his home planet, please support me on this mom, please. MARY JO Will you come back sometime and visit me, (starting to cry again) TYLER I will try, but I don't know if I can. Mom please park your truck inside the mine, so they can't spot if from the air. MARY JO Ok, honey I'll do it now. As Mary Jo leaves the large room Tyler follows a small Corridor and stops at a dead end. He reaches behind a large rock and pushes a button. The concealed door slides up revealing a large chamber. Turning on a light switch the room comes aglow. A large object is seen in the middle of the room. He walks up and pulls the tarp revealing what appears to be a small space craft of obvious Alien origin. He walks up to what appears to be a small door, pressing a button the door opens revealing the inside of a craft with multiple buttons and levers. He climbs in and sits down. He relaxes in the plush seat, fondling the controls very gently. TYLER Hi baby, how are you? He moves a small switch on the panel and a deep hum rumbles inside the craft. Then very gently it begins to hover and Tyler moves it up off the stone floor about ten feet. He gently touches a switch and the craft settles down. TYLER (CONT.) I love you baby and some day we will leave and see dad. CUT TO:Go to Part 4
