www.ballykfans.co.uk launches
Welcome to ballykfans.co.uk, the latest incarnation of a site which has entertained and informed fans since 1997.

As many of you will know, 2000 was a big year of change for me and as a result the plans I had for the site had to be put on hold, but I finally got round to putting the finisshing touches to it, so here it is.

The major difference you'll notice is the URL - I have finally made the move from Geocities onto a proper server (no more banner ads!). Regular visitors will find a few differences in the site, so here's a rundown of what's changed:

More interactivity
Alongside the established forum, we now have a range of tasteful postcards to send to your friends, plus a site search and monthly poll. Look out for more interactive items coming soon.

More detail
You will notice that the site now goes into a lot more depth - especially in areas like Episodes and Filming.

More topical content
Each week you'll find a 'featured' item on the front page. This could be an article, fanfiction or episode guide.

More photos
In the Gallery section, there's a large collection of photos from the set of Ballykissangel, all with detailed descriptions. Some of these are your old favourites, while some have never been seen before. Want to know what it says on the speakers in Fitzgerald's? The answer's in here!

With all this new content, some of the old stuff has had to be moved around:

'Archive'
Contents of the old Archive pages have been moved to 'Articles', along with the tributes to Tony Doyle and Birdy Sweeney

'Latest'
The latest news will always be displayed on the front page, with a link to the full story. Previous items of news can be found in the 'Articles' section.

'Forum'
The forum and chat room are now listed under 'Interactive' along with the new postcards, poll and site search.

'Mediawatch'
Due to other commitments, Mediawatch will no longer be updated. The latest BallyK news will appear on the front page of the site.

With all that said, I hope you find ballykfans.co.uk to be useful, informative and entertaining. If you have any comments about the site, please click on 'feedback'

Enjoy!
Becks

The lickle 'thank yous' bit:
Thank you to: Everyone at World Productions; Davy, Annlaug and Kevin at BBC Northern Ireland; all the angels on the mailing list for the constant supply of excellent fanfics, my episode guide writers who have done a fantastic job and Kieran Prendiville for coming up with the concept of BallyK in the first place.
