Kieran Prendiville Avril comes into town and gets a shock when she sees Garrett Burrage, her ex husband, with another woman. She finds out that he's staying at Fitzgerald's and leaves a note for him. Vincent finds Avril sitting in the church and offers help but she refuses. Liam and Donal demand that Dooley return the money he borrowed from them in episode 2. Paul immediately goes to see Cattermole, his bank manager, to ask for a loan. Cattermole agrees to lend Paul the money on the condition that he sells the priest's house. When Paul returns he finds Oonagh blowtorching the name Fitzgerald's on the pub. She wants to rename it Oonagh Dooley's. Vincent decides that there should be a vote. Later in the pub Liam and Donal refuse to pay for their drinks. They tell Oonagh that Dooley knows why. Oonagh confronts Dooley and he explains what is going on. He promises to deal with the problem swiftly. Garrett reads Avril's note and realises that she wants him to leave town. He finds her and they have an uncomfortable conversation. We realise that she is a recovering alcoholic. Liam and Donal decide that they have to increase the pressure on Dooley to get their money back. That night Oonagh sleeps in the spare room and Dooley is left on his own. When he wakes up the next morning he gets a shock when he finds a horses saddle in his bed. Frankie is called to the house but it's Dermot who explains the significance, that Dooley has upset the 'mob' (ie Liam and Donal). A desperate Dooley tries to get the money from a loan shark but even this fails. When Avril comes to pick up her saddle she sees Garrett with his new girlfriend. She is shocked when she realises it's her sister, Rosie. Avril storms off, buys a bottle of whiskey and heads home. Vincent sees this and follows her. He tries to stop her drinking the whiskey and she throws him out of her house. He waits and eventually the full whiskey bottle comes flying through the window and lands in the yard. Vincent talks to her and suggests she go to an AA meeting. The next day Dooley meets with Cattermole and agrees to sell the priest's house. He then arranges to meet Liam, Donal, Vincent and Mac in Fitzgerald's at 12.00 and explains what he's going to do. He'll sell the priest's house as long as he gets first refusal on the pub. He also agrees not to change the name of the pub. Later that day Avril goes to an AA meeting in Cilldargan and is surprised when Vincent stands up and introduces himself.
Look closely at the hatstand in the hairdressers... then look at the one in Fitzgerald's... look familiar? Critical
