Q. What does 'on a hiding to nothing' mean?
Leo says this to Peter in Fitzgerald's kitchen in series three. What Leo means is that he thinks he's wasting his time with Assumpta because she doesn't really want him - she wants Peter.

Q. Did Peter say he was going to Canada?
No, he told Brendan he 'kinda' knew where he was going. Where exactly that was we may never know.

Q. What happened to..?
Padraig - He went to England to be with Kevin.
Eamonn - Birdy Sweeney, who played him, died. Eamonn went to Dublin.
Dr Ryan - He made fewer appearances in series four and five, but he is still around.
Quigley - Tony Doyle, who played him, died of a heart attack. Quigley went off to Rio when he got financially out of his depth.
