Trivia:
Did you know that...? Here is
a list of curious facts about the movie and some
interesting details to look for the next time you
watch it!
In 1885
Doc's bandanna is made out of the shirt
he was wearing in Back to the Future Part
II when he got sent back to that year.
In 1885
there is a horse dealership owned by the
Statlers. In Back to the Future, there is
an ad on the radio for "Statler
Toyota".
In 1885
the editor of Hill Valley's newspaper is
called "M. R. Gale", as a
tribute to trilogy screenwriter Bob Gale.
When
Marty walks along the railroad tracks and
arrives at the town, he comes to the
railway station. Then he walks into the
town, while the camera slowly rises up
above the station and shows Marty at a
large distance. This scene is shot
exactly the same way as a scene in
"C'era una volta il west", when
Jill arrives at the station.
In Back
to the Future Part II, Biff watches
"Per un pugno di dollari" in
the alternative 1985, in which Clint
Eastwood's character uses steel plating
underneath his poncho. In 1885, Marty
(calling himself "Clint
Eastwood") uses the hatch from a
stove under his poncho. Also, the sign at
the train crossing in 1985 identifies the
location as "Eastwood Ravine".
The
Director of Photography, Dean Cundey,
plays the photographer who takes Marty
and Doc's picture in 1885.
When
Marty and Doc are at the train station
looking at the map of Shonash Ravine,
Clara is standing in the background, with
her back to the camera, waiting for
someone to pick her up.
Back to
the Future Part II and Back to the Future
Part III were shot back-to-back in Los
Angeles, Sonora, and Tuolomne County,
California; North Carolina and Mexico.
This
sequel, like Back to the Future Part II,
was partially shot with the Vistaglide
system of computerized cameras.
The
estimated budget for this movie was $40
million.
When
Marty travels back to the old West, he
says he is called Clint Eastwood, which
spawns several jokes during the course of
the movie. The real-life Clint Eastwood
is thanked for his cooperation in the
final screen credits.
