   In the summaries, I will be using the actors' English names in place of their characters' names. I think there might be less confusions that way. 
 

 Episode 1, 2/16/98 
 

In Canada, Gallen spends most of  his time gambling. He even gambles away the restaurant that his aunt left him. Apple steals her father's restaurant's mortgage and lends it to Gallen. Unfortunately, Gallen loses Apple's father's restaurant in gambling, too. Gallen decides to  go back to HK to borrow money. 

As soon as Gallen steps off the plane in HK, he asks Amy to lend him  money to bet on horse races. After seeing Gallen's carefree atitude on gambling, Amy becomes angry with Gallen. 

Gallen's father finds out that Gallen hasn't been pursuing his education in Canada. Instead, Gallen has been spending his time gambling and has incurred a large sum of gambling debt. Gallen and his father have a big argument. 

Amy asks Sunny to close the sale of a apartment. Amy wants to use the money from the sale as down-payment for a new apartment. 

After closing the sale, Sunny runs into Gallen in front of the horse races station. Gallen tricks Sunny or somehow talks Sunny into lending him the money from the sale of the apartment. Gallen spends the money on horse races and loses all of it. 

Sunny returns home feeling very down about losing the money. Mom Mei tries to find out what happened. After Amy finds out what happened, she storms out looking for Gallen. She wants Gallen to pay her back the money. 
 

Episode 2, 2/17/98 

Amy runs after Gallen on the street, hitting him and yelling at him for her money back. Amy is very upset and keeps on crying. Gallen sees that and feels really guilty about what he did. 

Gallen's father finds out that Gallen has gambled Amy's money away. Feeling bad and somewhat responsible for his son's actions, Gallen's father decides to take the responsibility of repaying Gallen's debt to Amy. 

Mom Mei finds a nude portrait of Kathy and is very angry. Kathy's friend, Sing, is arrested after he was caught painting and vandalizing the streets. Mom Mei and Kathy bail Sing out of jail. Feeling that Sing is a troublemaker and a negative influence on Kathy, Mom Mei wants Kathy to stop hanging out with Sing. Mom Mei and Kathy argue. Mom Mei slaps Kathy. 

Gallen's father asks his old buddies to help him pay back Gallen's debt. When Gallen sees his father swallowing his pride and asking for help from his old friends, Gallen is overwhelmed with a sense of guilt. Father and son reconcile. 

Everyone is having a great time at Amy and Ah Shun's wedding banquet, Gallen helps Shun's father win in Mai Jong. Overexcited from his winning, Shun's father passes out at the banquet. 
 
 

Secret of Heart, Episode 3  

After winning at Mai Jong during the banquet, Shun's dad suffers a heart-attack and passes away. Because of this tragic incident, Shun's mom places some of the blame on Amy and feels certain animosity toward Amy. Amy and Shun's wedding is postponed indefinitely. Amy feels really hurt when Shun refuses to talk about their marriage plan. 

Ada becomes Sunny's co-worker. Sunny is very excited about this work arrangement because he has developed a crush on Ada. Ada finds Sunny's wallet and returns it to Sunny. Sunny asks Ada out to  dinner. After dinner, Ada invites Sunny back to her apartment. Sunny feels like he is the luckiest guy in the world. Sunny is a bit disappointed when he finds out that Ada invited him over to help her fix her phone. 

Apple's dad phones Gallen's dad to complain about Gallen's bad influence on Apple. Apple's dad even accuses Gallen of asking Apple to steal the restaurant mortgage. After hearing that, Gallen's dad demands an answer from Gallen. Gallen tells his dad that he is going to start over like a new person. Gallen will try to stay away from gambling. Gallen has a hard time finding a job. Gallen runs into Shun and Tong. Shun gives Gallen $5000. Gallen decides he is not going to tell Amy about Shun giving him money. 

Apple runs into Gallen and Tong. Amy asks Apple to find out what is going on with Gallen. Apple is going to try. 

End of Episode 3. 
 

Secret of Heart, Episode 4 

Persuaded by Amy, Apple (Eilleen Yeoh) asks Gallen about Shun and Tong (I think Tong might be Shun's new gf ??). Gallen tells Apple the truth about Shun and Tong. Apple feels bad after learning about 
Shun and Tong. 

Ada brings a child to the airport terminal. Due to some misunderstandings/confusions caused by Ada, the plane is not able to take of on time. Ada asks Sunny to take the blame for causing the delay. Being the nice guy that he is, Sunny agrees to take the blame. Fortunately for Ada, their supervisor doesn't agressively investigate who really caused the problem. 

Sing wants to marry Kathy but he faces opposition from Kathy's family. Kathy's family opposes because Sing is in a shady profession. 

Sing vandalizes a building by spray painting the wall. The police tries to catch Sing. Kathy is with Sing at that time. While running, Kathy falls. To escape from the police, Sing just keeps on running without stopping to help Kathy after she fell. The police takes Kathy to the police station. Kathy is really hurt by Sing's selfish behavior. 

Amy receives a call from Shun's new home. Out of curiousity, she goes to visit Shun's new home. Amy catches Shun and Tong fooling around (I am not very sure of this translation). 

Later Amy sees Gallen. Remembering that Gallen had lied to her about a photo of Shun and Tong, Amy angrily pushes a shopping cart toward Gallen. 
 

Secret of Heart, Episode 5  

Feeling miserable, Kathy and Amy go to a bar. Amy gets really drunk. When Amy wakes up from her drunkeness, she decides that she is going to break up with Shun. But when she looks at the wedding picture of Shun and herself, she begins to change her mind. 

Amy goes to work at the factory. She talks to Shun and reveals to him that she is ready to marry him. Shun is surprised by Amy's suggestion. Instead of talking marriage plans with Amy, Shun tells Amy he wants to break up with her. 

At the harbour, Amy tellls Gallen about Shun breaking up with her. Gallen tries to comfort Amy. All of a sudden during the conversation, Gallen asks Amy to take off her underwear. Baffled and shocked by Gallen's suggestion, Amy angrily pushes Gallen into the water. 

Later Kathy explains to Amy that throwing one's underwear into the oceam is supposed to chase bad luck away. Amy realizes that she had completely misunderstood Gallen's suggestion. 

Felix is smoking at the airport. Kathy, who works at the airport, asks Felix to stop smoking. Felix refuses. Kathy puts Felix's cigarette out by pouring water on it. Felix reports Kathy's action to her supervisor. 
Kathy refuses to apologize to Felix. Sunny, concerned for Kathy's future at the company, signs a letter of apology for Kathy. 
 

 
 
 
 Secret of Heart, Episode 6   

Kathy takes back the letter of apology that Sunny signed for her. Felix has already forgotten about this matter. Kathy loses a chance for promotion. 

Kathy sees that Amy still couldn't get over Shun. Hoping to get Amy's mind off Shun, Kathy suggests that Amy and Kathy take a trip to Toronto. 

Sunny purchases 2 tickets to a banquet. Sunny is hoping that his mom, Mei, would go with him. To Sunny's disappointment, Mei asks Gallen's dad to go to the banquet with her. (Mom Mei doesn't treat Sunny as nice as the way she treats Amy and Kathy.) 

Gallen's dad gets all dressed up for the banquet. At his home after the banquet, his nose starts to bleed (probably from eating the snake that was served at the banquet). Mom Mei gently helps him wipe the blood away. 

Gallen jokes that Mom Mei is interested in his dad. Gallen's dad blushes at Gallens' suggestion. 

In Canada, Kathy's friends plan a good-bye party for the sisters. Amy goes shopping instead of attending the party. On her way back to the hotel, Amy sees a couple of newly-weds. Thinking about Shun again, Amy's light mood changes drastically. She becomes very upset. She has an asthma attack and passes out on the street. Somehow Felix, who is also in Canada, sees Amy and helps her to the hospital. 

When Amy wakes up, Felix is already gone. (I don't think Amy knows it was Felix who helped her to the hospital.) Felix leaves behind a cuffling from his shirt. 
 
 

Secret of Heart, Episode 7  
 
 

Amy and Kathy return to HK from their trip to Canada. Shun sets up a meeting with Amy hoping to persuade her to return to work at the factory. Amy acts very cold toward Shun. Upset at Amy's cold treatment, Shun begins to list Amy's weaknesses. Full of pride, Amy tells Shun that she will not let him look down at her again. She will show him that she could be successful. 

Gallen recommends Amy for a position in sales. But Amy doesn't seem to be very good at selling products. Gallen scolds Amy for her lack of competence in sales. Angry that Gallen scolded her, Amy is determined to become a white-collar professional. 

Amy finally finds a job and her boss is Felix. Amy thanks Felix. All Felix cares about is his work. He is rather cold toward Amy and he is inconsiderate of his employees' feelings. 

Kathy and Ada are both selected to be flight attendants. Ada slips and twisted her ankle while bickering with Apple. 

Sunny accompanies Ada to the doctor's office. Ada tells Sunny that she is not interested in him because he is not from a wealthy family. She breaks Sunny's heart. 
 
 

Secret of Heart, Episode 8   
 

Kathy discovers that Felix is the person who was responsible for her not getting promoted. Kathy is also angry that she was slapped by someone (probably someone involved in her prior dispute with Felix). 
For revenge, Kathy switches the company's paperworks with useless papers and delivers them to Felix. 

Sunny helps Ada get over her fear of water. Their friendship/relationship grows stronger. Gallen tells Sunny that Ada is not the right girl for her. Sunny feels confused and frustrated after listening to Gallen. 

Mr. Lau (a wealthy man) invites Ada to attend a ball. Ada gets all dressed up for the occassion. Ada feels majorly let down and hurt when she sees Mr. Lau with another date at the ball. 

Sunny lectures Ada on making it on her own and not relying on other people's wealth. Sunny is hopeful that Ada will eventually fall for him. 

Amy works very hard for Felix. Felix loses a court dispute. When the mastermind of the winning party appears, he and Felix exchanges odd glances. Amy catches on that there is much more going on between the two parties than meets the eyes. 
 
 

Secret of Heart, Episode 9 
 

The mastermind behind the opposing party in litigation turns out to be Felix's older brother, Pui. The two brothers exchange condescending remarks and neither is going to give in. Feeling somber, Felix orders drinks at a bar. Amy realizes how much Pui's remarks have hurt Felix when she sees Felix looking somber and drinking at the bar. 

Four managers hand Felix their letters of resignation. Felix tries to persuade them into staying by offering higher salaries. The managers, satisfied at the pay increase, decide to stay and work for Felix. 

Felix finds out Ah Yuk's father has passed away. Felix tries to comfort Ah Yuk at the hospital. Amy follows Felix to the hospital. Amy witnesses Ah Yung hitting and punching Felix. Felix doesn't fight back. He just stands there and let Ah Yung keep on hitting him. 

Amy hands Felix her letter of resignation. Felix tries to persuade her to stay by complimenting her on her work. Felix tells Amy she is a very productive and helpful assistant. After hearing Felix's compliments, Amy decides to stay and work for Felix. 

Sunny and Ada are having a great time at a bar when Mr. Lau approaches them. Mr. Lau is the wealthy man who asked Ada to the ball. Mr. Lau says something condescending to Sunny and Ada. Sunny, unable to hold back his anger, punches Mr. Lau. After being beaten up by Sunny, Mr. Lau seeks revenge on Sunny. 
 
 
 
Secret of Heart, Episode 10

Felix tells his employees that the company is experiencing some financial difficulties. To soften the impact of the blow, Felix guarantees he will prompty pay all the salaries so the employees need not worry about not getting paid. Felix hopes his employees will continue to work hard for the company despite the news. 

Sunny welcomes Ada back to HK by giving her a big, stuff animal. Ada is a flight attendant and she travels alot for her job. Ada and Sunny go to dinner and a movie. However, they run into all sorts of little problems on their "date." Sunny worries that Ada might feel uncomfortable about going out with him. On the contrary, Ada is happy that Sunny is always looking out for her and catering to her wants and needs. 

Sunny, Ada, and Ada's co-workers are playing a drinking game. Ada has to take a drink each time she loses. In order to show others he is Ada's boyfriend, Sunny takes the drinks for Ada. Sunny, being the light drinker that he is, becomes drunk rather quickly. Seeing how drunk Sunny is, Ada's female co-workers make fun of Sunny. 

Sunny's family is very nice to Ada. Unfortunately, Ada feels pressured by Sunny's family's extra nice reception. Ada's friend suggests that Sunny is going to propose to Ada soon. Ada worries that Sunny is getting too serious and is going to propose marriage soon. Gathered up all her courage, Ada tells Sunny they should break up before things get out of hand. 
 

Secret of the Heart Episode 11 
 

Sunny sometimes wonders is he really Mom Mei's son because Mom Mei is always yelling at him. Mom Mei is not interested in Sunny's news. The family feels puzzled by Mom Mei's cold treatment toward Sunny. 
But when Mom Mei finds out that CKF (Cheung Ka Fei) is hospitalized after a car accident, she immediately goes to see CKF at the hospital. Mom Mei is extremely worried about CKF. CKF's mother, Chee, feels uneasy about Mom Mei's concern for her son. 

Sunny and Ada stay friends after they broke up. They want to stay friends even though they are not a couple anymore. Sunny and CKF becomes friends via the internet. 

Sunny goes to Ada's workplace to pick up a letter for Ada. He is approached by some inspectors and is searched. The inspector takes Sunny, who is innocent, to the police station. 

Chee (CKF's mom and Pui's wife) hopes that Mei wouldn't reveal to CKF that Mei is CKF's biological mother. Mei tells Chee about what happened between Pui (CKF's father) and Mei. Many years ago, Pui raped Mei, and Mei became pregnant with CKF. Chee feels very bad for Mei after learning what happened. 

Somehow, CKF's car hits Mei on the road. Mei is at lost for words when she realizes her own son has run her over.

Secret of the Heart, Episode 12  
 

Sunny's family finds out CKF is Pui's son. ( I don't think they know CKF is their brother because so far, Mom Mei is the only one in the family who knows this secret.) The family views Pui as an enemy because Pui had ruined their father's business many years ago. Sunny feels strongly against Pui and thus, he feels strongly against CKF since CKF is Pui's son. ( I think Amy, Kathy, and Sunny know that Pui was the man who had ruined their father's business but they don't know about the rape...) Sunny immediately acts very cold toward CKF. 

Sunny is selected by his company to train for a promising administrative position. Sunny thinks that CKF secretly has helped him or recommended him for the training. Sunny declines the offer because he doesn't want help from CKF. Sunny tells CKF he is going to quit. Sunny really dislikes CKF after learning that CKF is Pui's son. 

Mom Mei tells Gallen's father the truth about Pui, Mei and Kong (Mei's husband who had passed away a long time ago). Mei reveals that CKF is actually Kong's son, not Pui's son. Because CKF was not a very healthy child, Mei sent him to Pui because Pui could afford to take care of CKF. Mei lied and told Pui that CKF was Pui's flesh and blood. When she gave CKF to Pui, Mei wanted CKF to get the kind of life that a wealthy family could give him. Mei loves CKF dearly because he is the son of Mei and her husband Kong. ( This explains why Mei is mean to Sunny because Sunny is Pui's real son, the son of the man who raped her and ruined her husband years ago.) 

Someone accuses Ada of stealing. Fortunately, CKF is able to help clear Ada's name. Ada invites both CKF and Sunny to dinner to thank them for clearing her name. Sunny feels jealous when he notices that Ada is interested in CKF. CKF is from a wealthy family. 
 
 
 

Secret of the Heart, Episode 13

Sunny misses the dinner on purpose in order to give Ada and CKF an opportunity to be alone. Ada becomes angry at Sunny when Sunny mistakenly assumes there is something going on between CKF and Ada. 

Somehow, Sunny, Ada, and CKF find out that Sunny and CKF share the same birthday. They were born on the same day of the same month. Excited about the news of Sunny and CKF sharing the same birthday, they decide to resolve their past differences and become friends again. The three go out to celebrate. And Sunny even decides to particpate in the training program which he declined earlier. 

Apple is an insurance salesperson. Somehow her insurance client either tricked her or took advantage of her. The news of Apple's mishaps spread quickly. The neighbors and people are saying that Gallen depends on Apple to support him. Gallen feels very frustrated about the gossips. 

Out of frustration caused by the gossips, Gallen is inspired to make it on his own. He asks Amy to lend him some money to buy some inventories so he could work as a saleman again. ( I think Gallen is a product salesman.) 

Apple is shocked and very upset when she finds out she has leukemia. 

Felix is forced to sell his company to his ruthless brother, Pui. Instead of going to work for Pui, Felix decides to start all over on his own. Amy decides to stay with Felix to help him start over. 
 
 

Secret of the Heart, Episode 14  

Felix is forced to leave the firm. Most of Felix's personnel leave to go work for Pui. The only one who is willing to stay with Felix is Amy. ( The TVB summary doesn't explain whether Amy stay working for Felix or not; the summary just say Amy wants to stay with Felix. But the next paragraph, Amy works for Gallen ?) 

Amy asks Gallen to hire her back as a salesperson. Amy works with Gallen in selling some kind of "goat fluid." ( I think I read in some news that this "goat fluid" is supposed to help people stay young...) Gallen knows that his firm is having some problems, but he decides to not tell Amy about the firm's problems. ( Maybe he doesn't want Amy to worry...) 

The doctor confirms Apple has leukemia. Apple couldn't accept the reality of her illness and she doesn't have the heart to tell Gallen about her condition. 

Kathy runs into Felix at a bar. Somehow, Kathy unknowingly messes up Felix's big business deal. 

Gallen goes to the horse racing station and places large bets hoping to win some money to help Amy out. ( Remember Gallen lost Amy's down payment for a new apartment awhile back when he spent it all on horse racing.) Apple, angry at seeing Gallen back at his old habit of gambling, decides to return to Canada without telling Gallen. Gallen is very upset when he couldn't find Apple. 
 
 

Secret of the Heart,  Episode 15 

Gallen frantically searches all over for Apple but is not able to find Apple anywhere. Amy finds out from Kathy that Apple is in Toronto. Amy notifies Gallen of Apple's whereabout as soon as Amy learns the news from Kathy. Gallen immediately calls Apple and apologizes for his gambling. Apple cries her heart out after hearing Gallen's apology. 

Amy and Felix go to see a play together. They run into Pui, and Pui takes this opportunity to belittle Felix. 

Ken is interested in Kathy, and Kathy seems to be interested in Ken, also. Somehow Felix is able to rescue Nancy (I think this maybe Kathy's English name in the series?!) from Ken who is trying to take advantage of her. Kathy changes her attitude toward Felix. Kathy used to dislike Felix very much after Felix reported her to her supervisor and costed her a promotion opportunity. But now, Kathy's attitude toward Felix has changed for the better after the rescue. 

Gallen flies to Toronto hoping to reconcile with Apple. Apple finds some guy to pretend to be her fiancee hoping that Gallen would forget about her. Gallen is shocked and very upset when he finds out Apple has a fiancee. 
 

Secret of the Heart, Episode 16  

Amy thinks she saw a man who resembles Gallen wandering on the streets. However, that man soon disappears from Amy's view. Those who are walking with Amy joke that Amy is seeing things. (At this point, we don't know Gallen's whereabout. He might have returned to HK by now.) 

Fung's little sister, Jessica, becomes Sunny's supervisor/boss. Fung wants to help Jessica establish herself at the company. 

Pui's daughter, Yan, returns to HK after studying at US. Yan and Pui don't really get along. Pui always favors his son over his daughters. CKF is Yan's brother. 

Most of the people who work with Jessica find her difficult to get along with. Sunny is the only person who would accept Jessica's invitation for lunch. Jessica and Sunny usually eat lunch together. 

Felix invites Kathy to a banquet. Kathy's attitude toward Felix changes once again for the better. Kathy begins to like Felix... 

On the street, Amy once again runs into the man who looks like Gallen. Amy starts to run after the man but all of sudden, she falls on the ground. 
 

Secret of the Heart, Episode 17  

Gallen's father, Fu, goes searching for Gallen. While searching for Gallen, Fu runs into people whom Gallen owes money to. These people beat up Fu. Amy promised Fu she will help him find Gallen. 

Amy finally finds Gallen. Amy feels sad for Gallen when she sees him so devastated over his break-up with Apple. Gallen tries to drown his sorrow by gambling at some casino. Amy asks him to go home, but he refuses. 

Frustrated and devastated, Gallen loses his desire for life. He tries to commit suicide by jumping into the ocean. Fortunately, Amy is able to rescue Gallen from the water. After his close encounter with death, Gallen is inspired to begin a new life. 

After a potluck dinner, Amy feels sick and starts to throw up. All of a sudden, Felix has this urge to protect Amy, to make her feel better. Felix is developing feelings for Amy... 

Kathy quits her flight attendant position to work for Felix as an administrative assistant. 

Jessica has a argument with her staff over the design of a poster. Feeling that she was mistreated, Jessica is very unhappy. (Keep in mind that Jessica is used to getting her ways with people since her family spoils her at home.) 
 

Secret of the Heart, Episode 18  

Gallen finds work as a waiter. Amy feels that there isn't much future in waiting tables so she helps Gallen find a job as an investment assistant (some type of broker) at Felix's company. People at work are unwilling to teach Gallen how to use a computer. Gallen accidently causes the computer system to crash. Amy decides to teach Gallen how to use the computer herself. Gallen is able to learn how to use a computer overnight. 

Tai asks Felix to pay him his commission/salary. Felix refuses to pay Tai. After his conflict with Felix, Tai is transfered to another company. One day, Tai and Felix run into each other. They begin to fight. During the fight, Felix injures Tai's assistant. Felix is arrested and is being prosecuted for assault and battery. 

Both Kathy and Amy are very worried for Felix after they found out Felix is being prosecuted for assault and battery. Kathy pleads with Tai to get Felix off the hook. Tai records Kathy's conversation with him and presents the recording as evidence in court. When Felix finds out what happened, he yells at Kathy. 
 
 

Secret of the Heart, Episode19 

Pui secretly bribes a witness in Felix's trial. Pui is able to help Felix get acquited by bribing the witness. Felix is unawared that Pui helped him get acquited. 

Immediately after being acquited, Felix leaves for South Africa on business. Felix's abrupt departure for business leaves Kathy feeling neglected. 

Gallen, as an investment broker for Felix's company, purchases a stock which has been "let go" by many. The stock falls in value at first. But soon after, the stock value soars. Gallen helps Felix's company made alot of money on that stock. Felix compliments Gallen publicly for his insight and excellent selection of stocks. 

Felix asks Kathy out to dinner. Kathy is on cloud nine... 

Amy misplaces a very important document. Gallen tries everything possible to help Amy find the missing document. Although the document has not been found, Amy and Gallen's relationship has taken a giant leap forward. 

Amy keeps putting in good words for Kathy in front of Felix. Much to Amy's surprise, Felix declares he has feelings for Amy. Amy is shocked and doesn't know what to do... 
 
 

Secret of the Heart, Episode 20 

Amy turns down Felix after he revealed his interest in her. Felix, feeling rejected, accepts the reality that Amy is not interested in him. Kathy indicates to Felix that she has feelings for him but is rejected by Felix. 
Kathy is deeply hurt by Felix's rejection. Kathy decides to leave Felix's company. After seeing how adamant Kathy is about leaving, Felix lets her leave without trying to persuade her to stay at his company. 

Somehow Amy gets herself trapped in a burning building. Gallen risks his life to save Amy from the fire. He is able to rescue Amy from the fire. The two fall in love after this tramatic experience. 

Mr. Lau (the man who asked Ada to a dance before) tells CKF about Ada's past. CKF seems to be bothered by Ada's past. One day, CKF meets Jessica at some ball club. CKF begins to like Jessica.
