You have surfed into a web site dedicated to providing you original Windows95 Desktop Themes for you to download and enjoy. This page is my tribute to the brand new BBC 2 comedy series Stressed Eric an animated sitcom series about Eric Feeble the creation of Carl Gorham.

Stressed Eric represents a brave new direction for the BBC - if you think it has just a hint of the Simpsons about it you wouldn't be far wrong. Stressed Eric is produced by Absolutely Productions/Klasky Csupo/ITEL for the BBC and yes... Klasky Csupo were the producers of the Simpsons!!

The first series aired in the winter of 1997/98 and consisted of six episodes featuring Eric Feeble - feeble by name, feeble by nature!! Eric Feeble is a man plagued by stress. His young daughter Claire is allergic to just about everything. His son, Brian, devours everything in sight and his live-in au paire, Maria, drinks like a fish. His neighbours, the Perfects on one side and Mrs. Wilson on the other, add a further dimension for ways in which Eric can exhibit his stress. Our hero gets no rest at work either! His boss, PP (Paul Power) keeps coming up with an Arseburger of an Idea for Eric to complete by lunch time!! To top it all, his secretary, Alison, is more concerned with her sex life than the efficiency of the office - you get the picture.....

Created by Carl Gorham, this animated sitcom has already won wide acclaim by picking up two major awards at the 2nd British Animation Awards in March 1998. The series won in the categories, Best International Co-production and Best Script. Carl has indicated that he is talking to the BBC about doing more shows - lets hope he's right.

26th July 1998 - Stressed Eric goes Stateside

The London based Sunday Times reported on 26th July 1998 that Stressed Eric is to be networked in America on prime time TV by the NBC network. NBC is to screen the half-hour adult cartoon in a prime time night slot from August12. It has signed a £1m deal for the first six shows (Series 1) with an option to pay almost £9m for a second series of 13 episodes.

29th August 2000 - Stressed Eric returns to BBC2 in a second series Miles Bullough, Managing Director, Absolutely Productions, Executive Producer, Stressed Eric writes..... Just looking at the site and thinking you might want to update the info about Stressed Eric. Stressed Eric Books from the BBC (videos unavailable)

The Stressed Eric Desktop Theme is my small tribute to this very funny animated sitcom series which attempts to capture a little of the fun that this delightful TV show brought to the screen.

The Desktop Theme features themed start-up and shutdown screens, 800x600 hi-colour wallpaper, appropriate animated cursors and desktop icons. Also included are new windows sounds featuring some of the principle cast in a number of memorable situations. Full installation instructions are provided and the whole theme is available in a convenient zip file to download.

I have not included a screensaver with this theme as there was a very good one produced by the Comedyzone at the beeb. Sadly they have removed it from their web site but we have managed to upload a copy and you can download it from this link - the Stressed Eric Screensaver for the PC.

If you don't have a copy of Microsoft Plus! help is at hand in the form of Desktop Themes, a shareware desktop theme manager published by Jonathan Potter at Left Side Software. Click on to get your copy.
