Who are Wallace and Gromit? Message Board Links Merchandise Desktop Theme Animated Gifs Frames No Frames
You have surfed into a tribute
site to some of the best in BBC comedies, captured here in the
form of Windows Desktop Themes for you to download and enjoy.
This then is my tribute to Wallace
and Gromit. Wallace who? Well if you have never
heard of them chances are you are not going to find anything of
interest here. If however you find them charming
then just maybe you might find something of
interest to download (read on).
Wallace and Gromit are those cute clay figures animated by Aardman Films and stars of three Nick Park films, A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave. Should you have never heard of them, let me introduce them to you.
Here in the UK they have achieved something approaching cult status where perhaps we Brits can appreciate the Northern humour and antics of our clay heroes! Set in the '50's in the north of England, we find Wallace, a madcap inventor, and his long suffering dog Gromit, getting into all sorts of scrapes and adventures thanks to the clever script writing and production of Aardman Films, under the expert direction of Nick Parks.
There are many sites on the WWW (Wonderful World of Wallace) that you can visit to download further details of the award winning films. I don't propose to repeat them here. Suffice to say that in my humble opinion they are very funny and you may agree if you take the trouble to find out.

Now on Version 4.0, the theme has been created for 800x600 desktop using 16/24 bit colour schemes. There are in fact five different themes to choose from, two different desktop wallpapers featuring Wallace and Gromit and three from each of the Nick Park films. To ring the changes, I have provided some alternative sound effects in one or two of the film shot themes. Version 4.0 has also fixed one or two minor bugs; improved the quality of the wallpapers for the three film wallpapers; fixed the hand icon and improved the animated cursors - now all 256 colours.
The following graphics will give you an idea of the wallpapers used in theWrong Desktop Theme Pack. The zipped file is approximately 1.3 Mb and depending upon web traffic should be fairly straightforward to download and install. The theme includes a Wallace and Gromit Screen saver, animated cursors and Wallace and Gromit icons. Full installation instructions are included in the zipped file.
