A tribute to the dearly departed.
Luke--Big, Dumb, and Ugly
Brian Thompson
Luke was the vessel who was able to feed for the master during the harvest. He was a pretty strong guy, and almost killed Buffy. The necklace Angel gave her saved her life. Later, after he was annointed as the vessel by the master, he went to the Bronze to begin the harvest. He killed a bouncer and a girl in the Bronze, and almost killed a terrified Cordelia, but Buffy showed up. Luke met his demise in The Harvest, after Buffy convinced him it was dawn after breaking a window and letting some electric light flood into the darkened Bronze, saying "sunrise". As the not-so-bright vessel turned away from her and hid his face, she staked him in the back saying "It's in about nine hours, moron." With Luke's death, Buffy was able to prevent the master from breaking free.
Miss French...The name says it all...
Musetta Vander
She was actually a giant preying mantis.
Darla, Darla, Darla (sigh)
Julie Benz
I always had a thing for Angel's mama...
Too bad this picture sucks, 'cause Darla was really good looking. She was also the first character introduced on Buffy (who lasted longer than one scene. I'd love to hear a little about Darla's past, and the fun stuff she and Angelus must have done before he was cursed. The Catholic school girl thing is a real turn on (especially from someone who went to a Catholic school.) Darla managed to survive the harvest fiasco, but Willow did throw holy water in her face which burned like hell. (It was Darla that killed her friend Jesse and then turned him into a vampire.)
Darla met her demise in Angel after she tried to trick Buffy into killing Angel by attacking Joyce. Buffy showed up at the Bronze to kill Angel, but Darla surprised and attacked her. Angel killed her by shooting her in the back with a crossbow. (Orestes much??)

The Master...what a dork
Mark Metcalf
The master was Buffy's chief antagonist during the first season. He was, according to Giles, a "very old, very powerful vampire" who had come to Sunnydale some 60 years earlier to open the hellmouth, but messed up, and caused an earthquake which destroyed half the town and got him stuck in the hell mouth. He made repeated efforts to escape, including the harvest, where the master could gain strength when one of his minions feeds, but all were thwarted by Buffy. He finally succeeds when the Annointed One brings Buffy to his lair where he feeds from her and leaves her to drown in a pool. He comes to the serface and opens the hell mouth, but Xander and Angel revive Buffy. The master meets his end in Prophecy Girl, when Buffy throws him through a skylight and impales him on a broken table. He made a brief comeback attempt in When she was Bad, but that was thwarted by Buffy with the help of Angel and a sledge hammer.
The master was a major dork for such a supposed "very powerful" vampire. I mean, I may not be Mr. Fashion Guy, but even I know that the tight leather button up thing isn't really the look...
Daryl--Frankenstien much?
Ingo Neuhaus
Daryl was actually long before Some Assembly Required, but his brother Chris was really smart and brought him back from the dead. He didn't do a very good job in preserving the body, though, because his head is full of stitches and such. Daryl was trying to get Chris to build him a girl out of spare parts from dead people, but, when they tried to steal Cordelia's head, Buffy stopped him and set the warehouse on fire. Daryl tried to kill Buffy, and almost had the upper hand, but then saw that his unfinished "bride" was burning up and "died" with her. Daryl was fairly psychotic, as shown by his willingness to let Erik cut off Cordelia's head, but I guess if you come back to life looking like that it is to be expected.
The Annointed One Sucks! He sucks!!
Andrew J. Ferchland
Is it just me, or is the Annointed One the single worst bad guy ever created? I mean, seriously, how could you take that thing seriously. He was a dork in Angel, When she was Bad, and School Hard, which were the only A-1 episodes that I saw. What a whiner. I liked Spike's reaction to him. Totally irreverent, which was cool. because all the others baddies were so bowing to him all the time. Spike called it like is was: the "annoying" one. Then Spike killed him by throwing him in a cage and raising it up into the sunlight. Some "most powerful warrior." Was it just me, or did his character never go anywhere and never do anything? I mean, he did lead Buffy to the master, but for all the hype in Angel gave in When she was Bad, he never did anything at all. I guess that's because he was stupid.

Ted--Is this guy for real?
John Ritter
Anyway, in the episode Ted, Buffy's mom starts bringing home this Ted guy, and he seems perfect. Joyce really likes him, he's nice to Buffy, he's a good cook, Willow and Xander really like him...Must be too good to be true. Of course, he is. Buffy doesn't like him at all. (Not that I blame her, seems like Joyce prefers Ted to Buffy.) In fact, she dislikes him so much that she kills him, causing her no small amount of angst. I mean, he had broken into her room, gone through all her stuff, and slapped her around a bit but she didn't need to kill him. Of course, he came back from the dead because he was really a psycho-killer robot who was planning on kidnapping Joyce and holding her prisoner in his bunker o'love until she dies, just as he did with his last 4 wives. (credit Xander, Cordy, and Willow for finding that out.) Buffy eventually laid him out with a cast iron skillet, (the kind Ted liked to cook with.)
Dalton--a dorky vamp?

The Judge--The hell with ancient prophecy
Brian Thompson
The Judge was the same actor who played Luke. He couldn't be killed by any weapon forged, according to ancient prophecy, and could burn the humanity out of people. He was assembled by Spike and Dru and attacked the mall with Dru and Angelus. He met his death in Innocence. Buffy interrupted his slaughter with a crossbow, and when he mocked her, saying "you're a fool. No weapon forged can harm me," she said "that was then...
This is now," and pulled out the gun (Doesn't she look like a bad ass? How cool is that?) The judge was kinda funny 'cause right before she blew him up he looked at the rocket launcher and said "what does that do?" As a demon, he rather lacked punch, in fact he was a real wus, Buffy had more trouble with Marcie, but as a slap in the face of ancient text, (all the big deal about how invulnerable he was was written long before automatic weapons!) he was effectively humerous.
Theresa Klusmeyer--victim of Angelus
Megahn Perry
Poor Theresa. She was on the show for one episode, Phases, and her books were thrown on the floor so Larry and the others could look up her skirt, then Larry was gleeful about attacking her in gym class, and then she was chased by a werewolf on the way home from school. Finally, she thought she was safe when Buffy's "friend" Angelus offered to walk her home, and he killed her and turned her into a vampire. She almost managed to kill Buffy, but Xander staked her. She was so pretty (I think that was her point...) Just another made to order victim...
