CASS answers the phone as it rings.

CASS
Cass Winthrop.

CUT TO: FELICIA'S APARTMENT

FELICIA
Cass, honey, it's me. How are you?

CASS
Swamped. I go away for a week and I swear, my caseload reproduced.

FELICIA
Well, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind adding to that caseload a bit.

CASS
What's up, honey? You sound like you've got an issue.

FELICIA
It's not my issue, but I do have someone I'd like for you to help out. I know that adoption isn't normally your thing, Cass, but I have a young friend who could use some advice in that area.

CASS
You know someone who wants to adopt?

FELICIA
No...I know someone who may want to give up her child for adoption.

Cass is silent for a minute.

FELICIA (Cont'd)
Cass? Are you still there?

CASS
Yeah, honey, I'm here. How ironic is this. Felicia, I may have a couple to adopt her baby.

FELICIA
What? You know something off the top of your head like that?

CASS
It's an amazing coincidence....tell you what, can you bring her in to my office? I'd like to meet her.

FELICIA
(covering the mouthpiece and turning to Hayley)
Can you talk to him today?

Hayley nods.

FELICIA
(uncovering the phone)
Okay, Cass. Do you want us to come there now?

CASS
That would be good, Felicia. I'll see you in a few minutes?

FELICIA
See you in a few...(She hangs up the phone)...Come on, kiddo. You may have a home for your baby sooner than you think.

Felicia picks Gabrielle up and puts an arm around Hayley as they leave the apartment and we:

BRAVA OFFICES/NIGHT

CARL and CAMERON are in the lobby at Brava.

CAMERON
Carl, what's going down? It sounded pretty urgent on the phone.

CARL
Yes, its quite the little mystery.

CAMERON
So what is it?

CARL
I have only mentioned this to Rachel, so I want this kept confidential. I don't want to startle Amanda or the rest of the family until we have to.

CAMERON
I understand.

CARL
I've been receiving some strange phone calls and mysterious packages. I want you to do some investigating for me to try to find this admirer I seem to have.

CAMERON
Can you elaborate? What were the contents of the packages and what was said on the phone.

AMANDA walks into lobby and approaches Cameron.

AMANDA
Hi, honey. I didn't know you were going to stop by today.

CAMERON
(hugs and kisses Amanda)
I was in the neighborhood.

AMANDA
Oh, I wish you had called. I was just on my way out.

CAMERON
That's okay. I'll see you later, then?

AMANDA
Of course. If I don't have to work too late, maybe we can go out to dinner.

CAMERON
Sounds good.

AMANDA
Okay. I love you. (She kisses Cameron)

CAMERON
Love you too.

AMANDA
Bye, Carl.

Amanda leaves.

CARL
Back to the matter at hand. Here is all of the information you need.

Carl hands Cameron a manila envelope.

CAMERON
We'll get to the bottom of this, Carl.

CARL
I'm counting on it, Cameron.

LUCKY LADY/SAME DAY

TONI, ETTA MAE, and KC are gathered around the bar. CHRIS is still sitting at the table alone.

TONI
He actually said he wants to get married as soon as possible.

KC
That's wonderful, Sis!

ETTA MAE
I'll start getting everything in order right away.

TONI
Thanks, Mama.

Toni walks back over to table and sits down.

TONI
She's taking care of everything.

CHRIS
(He takes Toni's hand)
I've never been happier.

TONI
Neither have I. I think things are just going to get better and better.

CHRIS
What do you think about Jake being my best man?

TONI
I like that idea. Something tells me Jake wouldn't have it any other way.

CHRIS
I think I'll get back over to the Herald and ask him right now. I'll meet you later.

TONI
Okay, that will give me some time to figure out when and where we'll tie the knot.

CHRIS

TONI
Love you.

CHRIS
I love you too, babe.

Chris kisses Toni and leaves. Toni walks back over to Etta Mae and KC.

TONI
He's going to ask Jake to be his best man.

KC
So what can we do to help? Just name it and I'll get right on it.

TONI
You guys are the greatest, have I told you that lately?

ETTA MAE
Not nearly enough.

The three of them laugh.

KC
Actually, I'm going to have run soon. There are some things I need to get done at The Herald.

ETTA MAE
So go take care of those things and then come back.

KC
Are you sure?

TONI
Yes, of course. We'll be fine.

KC
