"Lily? I don't want to talk about her."
"Sweetheart, I love you and I don't want to upset you, but we HAVE to
talk about Lily. I never got to tell you how sorry I am."
"Sorry, for what? You didn't do anything, she did."
Sonny wanted to believe that, but the cold truth was he had lied to
Brenda and slept with Lily.
"Brenda, I slept with another woman. And not just any woman, but Lily. I
need you to know how sorry I am for that. (she nodded) And I want you to
know that I love you, more than anything and I am getting out of the
organization."
"What? Are you sure?"
"I was going to when you were in the hospital the first time, when I
found out I was going to be a father. But, then I thought that you were,
and well when I was going to marry Lily I just decided that I. I don't
know what the hell I thought. When I heard that you were "dead" I had
nothing left. Nothing to live and fight for. I thought that I had lost
my entire family. So I decided to marry Lily, so at least I could be a
good father to that child. Brenda I never loved her. I never stopped
thinking about you or missing you and our children. So now that I have
you back, I'm getting out. I want to see my children live and I want to
have more. I want to give you everything you deserve. But most of all
just want to wake up every morning next to you, holding you, knowing
that my WIFE is safe."
"Wife?"
Sonny got of the bed, and knelt down holding her hand. "You've made
every dream I ever had come true. Every dream but one. Brenda, I'm
asking you to make that one come true too. Brenda Barrett, will you
marry me?"
Brenda had tears coming down her cheeks. She was smiling and giggling.
She bent forward and whispered "Yes, you know I'll marry you."

He stood up and took her face in his hands. He kissed her gently and
then more passionately. They pulled away and Brenda noticed his tears.
She wiped them away and kissed him again.

Brenda pushed his suit jacket off his shoulders and let it fall to the
ground. They stopped kissing and looked at each other and smiled.

Sonny slowly removed her hospital gown. It had been so long. Too long.
He had wanted to wait but he couldn't. He needed her now.

Brenda unbuttoned his shirt and threw it to the floor. She let her hand
roam and explore the body she had longed for.

Sonny made trails of kisses across her shoulders and up her neck. He had
missed her so much. The way she felt. They way she tasted. Everything

Finally he captured her lips and crawled in bed with her. There they
reexplored each other. They made up for lost time and they celebrated
the life that awaited them. Happy for the first time in months.
Part 42
"Honey this is silly. Why am I wearing a blindfold?"
"Because I have a surprise for you and I don't want to spoil it before
hand." Sonny said as he led her along.
"Okay. Okay fine. But I am telling you this had better be very
important. I mean you dragged me away from the hospital as I was fawning
over our children."
"Lois and Robin are doing a great job of fawning. I'm sure they won't
miss you at all."
"They had better miss me. I'm their mother."
"And you're wonderful at it. But Lois and Robin are their honorary aunts
and they need to get fawning time in before the triplets get to old to
be fawned over." He stopped walking.
"Are we there?"
"Yep."
"Does that mean I get to take this blindfold off?"
"Yep. Here let me help you." He said reaching up and untying the bow.
Once it was off Brenda blinked a little before her eyes focused on the
huge building in front of her.
"It's a warehouse."
"Correction. It's our warehouse. Extremely huge as requested."
"You're kidding."
"I never kid my lady." She threw her arms around him and hugged him
tight.
"Honey when did you find the time?"
"Yesterday while you were sleeping."
"I love you."
"I love you. So when do you want to get started remodeling this baby?"
"As soon as possible. We need a contractor and an architect. A crew for
building and probably on for cleaning before we get started. We need-"
"To relax before you end up back in the hospital."
"You're right as usual. I'm just excited. It's gonna be so cool. I mean
think about it. We're gonna be designing our own house."
"Yeah it's gonna be cool." He put his arms around her waist. "What do
you say to christening the place?"
"Now?" She giggled.
"Yeah." He smiled flashing those dimples.
"I hate it when you do that."
"What?"
"Make yourself irresistible. It's so not fair."
"Tough. C'mon." He took her hand and led her inside. She was greeted by
the sight of candles and a bed.
"When did you do this?"
"Like I said, while you were sleeping."
"You are to sweet. Now I have a reward for all your hard work."
"Yeah?"
"Oh yeah." She led him to the bed and sat him down. Then she straddled
him, bent her head, and placed her lips to his. She pulled away and gave
him a wicked smile as she unbuttoned his shirt. Then she shoved him to a
lying position and went down on top of him.............

Lily sat in the visiting room awaiting her father. He was taking a
chance coming to see her but he had promised to come. Just then the door
was opened and Detective Alex Garcia led a man in a trench coat and
beard into the room.
"Five minutes." he said before leaving.
"My child."
"Papa." She said embracing him.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine."
"Do not worry. Sonny will pay for this."
"Leave Sonny alone.
Ch.43
Sonny and Brenda laid in bed after making love. He was holding her.
Everyday he thanked g*d that he had her back. And that he was the father
of three babies. They were getting stronger and bigger everyday. He
smiled at the thought of his babies.
"What are you smiling about?"
Sonny was shaken from his thoughts. "How did you know I was smiling?"
"Because I could feel your lips on my shoulder. So are you going to tell
me?"
"The kids. You know that in about 16 years we're going to have to get
more security."
"Why?"
"Because when Katie and Kassi are 16 every guy in PC is going to be
going crazy over them."
"Oh really? And what about Stone? Every girl is going to melt when he
says hi to them. Especially if he has his father's incredible dimples."
"So that's it! My dimples? That's what you like best."
"Oh yeah. Those dimples were what hooked me. I love them." She kissed
each one. "I also love your smile" she said as she kissed his mouth.
"And your chest" she bent her head and kissed that too.
"You better stop that before we get carried away."
"That's the general idea." she said smiling and kissing his chest again.
"Wait. First I have something for you."
"What?!!"
He leaned over to his jacket that was on a chair next to the bed and
pulled out a small velvet box.
"I forgot to give you the most important part of my proposal."
He opened the box to reveal a beautiful 3 carat diamond. "Would you do
me the honor of becoming my wife?"
She was crying, and nodded her head furiously. "Yes." He placed the ring
on her finger. It was perfect. She then knocked him back on the bed and
kissed him again. Sonny didn't stop her this time as they got carried
away and made love again.

Hernando looked at his daughter. "What? Why should I leave Corinthos
alone after everything he's done.
"Papa, Sonny didn't do anything. It was Brenda. I want her to pay. She
ruined it all. I want her dead for real this time. I don't care where
and I don't care how as long as it's soon."
"Lily, what about the others? Her friends?"
"Leave them. For the moment. I have not forgotten their betrayal, nor do
I intend to. but right now Brenda is the one I want taken care of!"
The guard came in and told them their time was up. Hernando got up to
leave. "What about her children?"
Lily looked at him. "As long as a part of Brenda is alive I can never
fully have Sonny. They have to be taken care of also."
Hernando looked at his daughter, she had gone crazy. She was ordering
him to kill three helpless infants. And for what? That no good hood
Sonny Corinthos? but he would do it, because she was his daughter and he
wanted her in his life.
Ch 44
"Aren't they adorable?"
"Totally. Especially when they're sleeping." Sonny said yawning.
"Tired Daddy?"
"Exhausted Mom."
"Then let's go to bed."
"Good idea." Brenda smiled as she took Sonny's hand and led him down the
hall to the bedroom. They had rented a room in the PC Hotel until they
could get the house finished. The triplets had come home three days ago
and Sonny and Brenda hadn't gotten much sleep since then. As they laid
down in bed Sonny kissed the back of Brenda's neck.
"Hmmmm." She moaned. "I thought you were tired." She said turning over.
"Not that tired." He smiled.
"In that case." She pushed him flat on his back and covered his body
with hers as they made love.

Lily paced her cell. She was going crazy. Her contact on the outside had
been keeping her informed of Sonny and Brenda's actions. They had moved
into the PC Hotel and the triplets had come home three days ago. She
looked up to see Alex Garcia watching her, amused.
"Can I help you Detective?" She asked sweetly.
"No but maybe I can help you."

Lily stared at Garcia. "And how can you help me?"
"Well, it seems that you are going to be in here for awhile, but I've
been wanting to take down Corinthos forever. I might be persuaded to
help you do that, for something in return." He smiled slyly at her.
"Really? and what would that be?"

Sonny and Brenda laid in their bed wrapped in each other. "Hey are you
awake?" Sonny asked Brenda who was staring at her wedding ring.
"Yeah. Ya know I still can't believe that I'm Mrs. Michael Corinthos,
Jr." Sonny kissed the back of her neck and smiled.
"Believe it. You were born to be Brenda Corinthos."
"Do you have any idea how much I love you?"
"I look at those three little people in that room and I know. Ya know it
still amazes me that I could be part of something as miraculous as those
babies. It scares me too."
"Scares you? Why?"
"I don't know. I guess I'm just afraid that my life will hurt them and
you. I'm also afraid that I'll let them down as a father and you as a
husband."
Brenda laughed and turned over facing Sonny. "Well, you don't seem to
have a problem in this particular area of husbandry."
"Brenda, I'm serious."
"So am I. Sonny listen, don't you think that I'm scared too? I mean, I
never had any parents to be role models. At least you had your mother.
And whether you want to admit it or not, Mike."
"Brenda, don't start."
"Sonny, we'll be fine. We'll learn as we go. Together. Now I think we
should practice on those husband skills some more. I wouldn't want you
to get rusty."
They rolled over and started kissing when they heard on of the babies
cry. "I'll go." Brenda said getting up looking for her robe. She went
down the hall to the triplets room. Katie was crying.
"Hey, little one. What's the matter?"
Brenda picked up her youngest and smallest child and held her. As she
did this she became panicked. "Sonny!"
Ch.46
Sonny came bolting into the nursery. He saw Brenda holding Katie. She
looked at Sonny and he knew something was very wrong.
"Brenda, what's wrong?"
"I don't know. But she's burning up and look, she's got a bruise on her
arm. It wasn't there this morning. "
"OK, calm down. Listen you go get dressed and I'll call Lois and have
her sit with the kids."
Brenda turned and walked out of the room holding Katie. As soon as she
left, Sonny looked at his two other children sleeping. "Please don't
take away Katie. Let her be alright."

Lois had come to sit with Kassi and Stone while Brenda and Sonny had
taken Katie to the hospital. Simone had taken her to run some tests, and
Brenda wasn't allowed with to be her. She was frantic and scared and
Sonny couldn't do anything to help his wife.

Three hours later Simone came out to see Sonny and Brenda. Brenda
immediately stood up and squeezed Sonny's hand.
"Simone what's wrong with my baby?"

Lily waited for Garcia's answer. "Well detective are you going to answer
me?"
Alex stepped closer to Lily. "Well, I'm sure you can tell that I've
always been attracted to you. And I know how badly you want to take
Corinthos down and get Brenda back. So what if we teamed up together."
"And what would we do?"
"Well I've been thinking of a little plan. Would you care to hear it?"
Ch.47
Simone looked at Brenda and Sonny. "Have you been noticing any breathing
problems with Katie?"
"Well no. Wait yes, yesterday she seemed to be wheezing a little, but I
didn't think anyth- Oh, my g*d it's my fault that she's sick! I should
have brought her here sooner!" Sonny put his arm around Brenda, trying
to comfort her, although he too wanted to scream. His little girl was
sick and he couldn't do anything to help her.
"I think I know what's going on. We have to run one more test and then
I'll know for sure."

Sonny and Brenda sat in the waiting room for what seemed like an
eternity. Sonny glanced over at Brenda. She was crying silently. It was
killing her and him. Mike, Luke and Robin came in through the doors.
Robin ran over and hugged Brenda.
"What's going on? Did they tell you anything?" Robin asked.
"Um, no, they're still running tests on her. But they won't let me in
there with her."
Luke and Mike stood by Sonny as Brenda and Robin sat down.
"So, Sonny it's bad isn't it?"
"Luke, this is killing me. My little girl is sick and I can't do a damn
thing about it! Brenda thinks it's her fault and that kills me too."
Sonny sat down with his head in his hands. "We finally had it together.
I mean we're finally together and married with three beautiful kids and
now this. I..I don't know what'll happen if Katie's really sick."
Mike put his hand on his son's shoulder. He wanted to do more, but he
was just thankful that Sonny was accepting his presence at all.
Finally Simone came back. Everyone stood up.
"Dr. Hardy what's wrong with Katie?" Sonny asked suddenly very scared.
"Katie has a heart problem. I'm sorry but this is very serious."
Ch 48
Brenda felt her knees weaken and she started to slide to the floor.
Robin caught her and steadied her with Luke's help. Sonny stood frozen
in his spot. He couldn't speak. When he finally found his voice he
asked,
"Is there anything we can do to help her?"
"An operation is necessary. But we really can't do anything until we
talk to a cardiologist. Why don't you go home and get some rest?"
"I think that's a great idea Bren. You and Sonny need some sleep."
"I wanna see her. Can we?"
"For a few minutes then will you go home?"
"Yes we'll go."
"Follow me." Sonny took Brenda's hand and they interlaced their fingers
as they followed Simone. She took them to Katie's room and they just
looked at their little girl for a few minutes with tears running down
their faces. Then they walked out of the room and went home.
Brenda tucked the blanket tighter around Kassi and smiled softly at her
sleeping daughter. Then she walked out of the nursery and went into the
living room. She curled up on the couch with a comforter and closed her
eyes as she leaned her head against the back of the couch. She couldn't
sleep she was too worried about Katie. She kept seeing how pale she was
in that hospital room. Her little girl could die before ever really
getting a chance to live.
"Bren?" Brenda lifted her head and opened her eyes to see Sonny standing
in the doorway.
"Hey. Couldn't you sleep?"
"Not without you." She smiled at him and he walked over to sit down
beside her. She leaned against him and he wrapped his arms around her.
"I am so scared. Every time I close my eyes I see how pale Katie looked
in that hospital room. What if she-?"
"Do not go there. We're not going to lose her."
"You don't know that. She's so small."
"She's also the strongest baby we have. She had the least chance of
living in the first twenty-four hours after the triplets were born and
she survived. She's also got a lot of stubbornness genes."
"Inherited from her mother and her father, right?"
"Right. She's gonna be okay Bren."
"God I hope so."
"Ya know we never had a real honeymoon after we got married in Vegas.
What do you say that after Katie's okay we take them and disappear for a
month? Just go somewhere and lie in the sun and play in the water."
"That sounds heavenly."
"Count on it baby."
Lily lay on the cot in her cell. Garcia's offer was interesting and it
would certainly help her get back at Sonny and Garcia wasn't bad looking
at all. But it did require her to sort of sell her soul, at least for a
time.
"What are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking about when I first found out I was pregnant. I was scared
to death. Not just because I was gonna have a baby but because I thought
you might think I got pregnant on purpose and that you might hate me."
"Never happen."
"Your turn. What are you thinking about?"
"About that phone conversation we had. I was thinking how much I wanted
you to come home that night. When I found out that you were gone I
thought I'd never get you back."
"You did. Took some time but we found our way home."
"And we are never leaving again."
"Amen to that." Brenda giggled. Sonny pulled her closer and kissed her
temple. He prayed to God that they wouldn't lose their little girl.
Ch. 49
The next morning Brenda and Sonny went down to the hospital to meet with
Monica and Simone.
"Good morning, Sonny, Brenda." Monica looked at both parents. They
looked tired and scared. She knew this was going to be the hardest thing
she ever had to tell a patient.
"Monica what's wrong with Katie?"
"Brenda, I'm sorry. Katie's got a heart abnormality, from the premature
delivery. Her heart didn't develop properly. She needs a transplant."
"A.. a transplant?" Sonny could hardly get the words out. His little
girl was dying. His sweet, precious little Katie.
Brenda was pale. She was just blankly staring into space.
"The hard part is going to find a donor for an infant. I'm not going to
lie to either of you. The chances of that happening are 1 in a million.
I'm very very sorry." Monica and Simone walked away.
"Bren, sweetie?"
"You killed our daughter!" She turned to look at him. There was horror,
grief, pain and most of all anger in her eyes.
"What! What are you talking about?"
"You insisted that I have the c-section. If I had waited like, I wanted
to MY daughter wouldn't be dying right now!! I hate you!!!!!"
She started to pound on his chest as her tears streamed down her cheeks.
Sonny too was crying and feeling extremely guilty.
"Brenda, please calm down."
"You killed my baby!!" She slapped him and then ran from the hospital.
Sonny stood there in the middle of hospital dumbfounded. Was she right?
If he had listened to her would Katie be OK right now? If he had down
anything to harm that baby... he couldn't think about that. It would
kill him for sure.
Ch 50
Brenda walked along the docks. She couldn't believe this was happening.
Katie was dying. Her baby was dying and their was nothing she could do
about it. She thought of her words to Sonny. She hadn't meant them
really. She was just upset and so incredibly scared she almost couldn't
breathe. Her daughter was dying without getting a chance to live. It
wasn't fair. But then what was? She sat at the edge of a pier and stared
off into the water. Kaitlyn Veronica Corinthos. She'd never grow up and
get married or have children of her own. She'd never experience her
first crush or go to her first dance. She'd never giggle all night at a
slumber party or blush when a boy looked at her. And then when she was
gone what would happen to their family? Would she and Sonny survive?
What about Kassi and Stone? They'd never know their sister. It was
ending before it had a chance to start.

Sonny sat at the bar at Luke's. He had no clue as to where Brenda was
and he was scared. Scared that when he went home that night she'd be
gone again. Just like before only this time she'd take Kassi and Stone
with her. Scared that he'd lose his daughter without ever really knowing
her. They'd finally gotten it together. They had their family and each
other and now they could lose it all. He didn't hear the door open
behind him and he didn't hear Brenda approach him. He didn't know she
was there until her hands rested against his back. He turned around. Her
face was a tear-stained mirror of his own. He got down off the stool and
she put his arms around him.
"I'm sorry. I love you." She whispered in his ear. He put his arms
around her and held her to him.
"I love you too." They stood in Luke's holding each other and thanking
God that they had each other to help them through this.
Ch. 51
Sonny held Brenda for a long time. Finally he pulled away. That's when
he noticed her face. She looked tired, scared and most of all beaten.
"Bren, she's gonna make it. We'll find a donor for Katie."
"Sonny, she's so tiny. Simone said that finding a donor would be
impossible. We can't lose her, Sonny. We just can't. I don't know what
will happen if we lose her."
"Baby, listen to me. You have to think positive. We still have to take
care of Stone and Kassi."
Brenda started to cry. She hung on to Sonny for dear life. The thought
that Kassi and Stone would never know Katie was killing her. She had
carried them all together, delivered them together, they were a part of
each other. Sonny too, was crying now. The thought that anything was
hurting Brenda made him upset, but this was too much.
"Sonny, I'm scared."
"So am I, sweetheart, so am I."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it when I said you killed Katie. I know you
love her, and would never do anything to hurt her. I'm just... I don't
know."
"Brenda, I know you didn't mean it. It's going to be OK. I promise,
we'll get through this. Just like we've gotten through everything else
that's tried to hurt us."

2 weeks later Katie had gotten worse. There was no heart donor, and
Sonny was getting very worried about Brenda. Lois and Robin had been
taking care of Stone and Kassi. Brenda had become very distant and
quiet. She never left Katie's hospital room. She hardly slept or ate.
Sonny walked into the hospital room. Brenda was standing over the crib
talking to the baby.
"Bren? How is she?"
"Pale. She looks weaker than yesterday."
"How are you?"
"This isn't about me Sonny. It's about my baby. She's dying and there's
not a damn thing I can do about it." She starting to cry for the first
time in weeks. "I'm completely helpless and it's killing me."
Sonny held her tight. "I know baby. I know."
They were interrupted by Simone. "Sonny, Brenda I have something to tell
you."
Ch. 52
Sonny and Brenda looked at Simone. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. We found a donor for Katie."
"What? Did you say..?"
"Yes, Brenda, we found a heart donor for Katie. We have the surgery
scheduled for the morning.
I'll come back later. I'm sure you two have a lot to talk about."
Brenda turned to Sonny. she started to cry and went into Sonny's arms.
"We're going to get our
baby back. She's going to be OK!"
"I told you, sweetheart, we're going to make it through this."

Simone had come and talked to them about the surgery. It was very
dangerous and Katie was still
not out of the woods. Brenda had been quiet ever since they heard the
news. After Simone left,
Sonny went over to his wife.
"Baby, what are you thinking about?"
"We get another chance with our daughter because someone else lost
theirs. I'm grateful for
Katie's life but I feel guilty too."
"I know sweetheart, but we have to focus on the fact that Katie is going
to have the surgery and
then she will be able to come home with us."
"You're right. I guess we should spend some time with her before the
morning. Just in case.."
"Just in case nothing. We've come this far, now we're in the home
stretch."
Ch 53
"Would you please stop pacing Sonny? You're making me nervous." Sonny
stopped in mid stride and took a look at his wife. Her fingers were
clutching the edge of the plastic couch in the OR waiting room. Katie
had gone in for surgery an hour ago and they were waiting for someone to
tell them something, anything about how it was going.
"I'm sorry." He came and sat down beside her. She leaned against him and
he put his arms around her. "So did you decide where we're going after
this mess is over?"
"Some place where we can make love in the ocean again."
"I love that idea."
"Mmm. Me too."
"Sonny I was thinking."
"'Bout what?"
"Having more kids. I know it's a little early to be thinking about it. I
mean the triplets aren't even two months old yet but I just wanna have
more, ya know?"
"When I thought you were dead I used to have dreams of us with a house
and five kids."
"You did? So did I."
"Really?"
'Yeah. So when do you want to start on the next one?"
"Whenever you are ready."
"Okay how about tonight?" She giggled. "Just kidding. Coupla months,
okay?"
"You got it baby and this time I'm going to be there every step of the
way. Promise."
"I know because I am never letting you out of my sight again."
"Same goes for me about you." Brenda tilted her head so that she was
looking in his eyes.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Do you know I still remember the first time you said that to me?"
"Took me long enough."
"You weren't ready. I know that now. I have a question."
"What?"
"How did you find me in New York and how did you find out I was
pregnant?"
"That's two questions. Anyway I didn't find you Luke did."
"Luke?"
"Yeah he saw an article about your store and your picture and I caught
him talking to your assistant. He hung up real fast but it was too late.
Then I got it out of him."
"I'm glad."
"Me too. Okay second question. When you were stabbed Stone called 9-1-1
and he had to fill him in on everything including your delicate
condition. That's how I found out we were expecting."
"Do you know that the day I found out I was gonna have twins Stone
suggested I name them Lucy and Ricky?"
"Yeah he would. I lost him right after I thought I lost you. I thought I
had lost everyone in my life that meant something. I just felt dead
inside."
"I know the feeling. I had it when…."
"When what?"
"When I saw you and that thing in our bed. It was quickly replaced by
fury though."
"I'll bet. You know we never really talked about that. There's something
you never told me."
