angelusslayer
Callie ran by instinct, not conciously knowing where she was heading. She ran till she stood in front of a warehouse door. She pounded on the door. "Please, it's me, it's Callista! Please let me in!"
There were sounds of a door being hastily unlocked and door opened to reveal Spike. "Callie? What's wrong?" He took in the girl standing before him sobbing. "What happened?"
"Oh, Spike, I..." She flung herself into his arms and cried like she would fall apart.
Angel moved as quickly as he could through the school and into the library. He could feel that something was wrong. He found the slayerettes assembled, but Callie wasn't there. Everyone had their noses buried in a book except for Willow. She sat, cross legged in the middle of one of the tables, her arms crossed defiantely. She had a very angry scowl on her face. She was the first to notice Angel. "Angel! Thank God you're here." She jumped off the table and ran to him, flinging her arms around him. "Angel, we've got to find her now!"
Angel pushed her away gently and looked her in the eyes. "What's going on and where is Callie?"
They were interuppted by Oz, who was just entering the library. "Hey guys, I just saw Callie and she was way upset and she had just bitten someone."
"That't not funny." Angel snarled.
"No it's not, but it's true." Oz looked at his friends and knew instantly that somehow most of this was their fault. "What's going on Willow?"
Willow was furious. "She let a vampire go and they yelled at her, told her that she was a monster and then Giles kicked her out of the library."
"Well she deserved it!" Xander broke in, "She chose some vampire named Alex over keeping me safe!"
Angel looked alarmed. "Alex? What, didn't you let her explain?!"
"No, they just yelled a lot." Willow was not letting them off easily.
"You fools, and you call yourself her friends. Alex was a boy she knew before she was changed. Alex, was her fiancé. About a decade after the Master changed her, he made Alex into a vampire to punish her for her disobediance."
"So, she should have staked him. Xander said that she just told him to get out." Buffys' tone began to soften. She was beginning to realize that they had made a big mistake.
"You mean like you should have just staked me? Anyway she told him. With Alex, that could be enough. He's smart, and will do almost anything she tells him to."
"Point taken."
"Dear God. I kicked her out. We didn't give her a chance to explain, we just condemned her and then I kicked her out." Giles was couldn't believe he had been that cruel.
Angel sighed. "We don't have time for this. Oz, which way did she go when she ran?"
"Towards the warehouse section of town."
"Of course! She went to Spike!"
"To Spike!" Xander couldn't believe it. "See she still goes to vampires."
"Xander! Shut up. Are you forgetting that Spike helped us defeat the Master? And where else was she supposed to go. Her *friends* had just turned their backs on her. You need to quit being so shallow and selfish and think about others and not yourself." Willows' eyes seemed to glow with her anger.
She turned to Angel. "We've got to go after her. Now."
"Yeah, but not all of us. Just you, me and Oz."
"Me?" Oz was confused.
"Yeah, we have to remind her that not everyone hates her. And we're the only ones to didn't join the Callista bashing party."
"Sure man. Let's go."
Angel, Willow, and Oz quickly made their way to the warehouse where Spike and the other Vampires stayed. Angel knocked on the door. "Spike! It's Angel. Let me in."
After a moment the door opened and Spike stood in the doorway. "Angel, I can't believe I'm saying this, but, I'm glad you're here mate."
There was a moment of silence and in the distance, hysterical sobs could be heard.
"Spike is that Callie?"
"Yeah. She's a mess, Angel. But what do expect mate, when all of a girls friends turn on her."
"Hey! I didn't turn on her" Willow and Oz said indignantly.
"Anyway Spike. We need to see her."
"Sure mate. This way."
"Hey Spike!" Willow called. "Your friends look hungry and I'm not loving it."
"Sorry Willow. Hands off. Got it?" He addressed the vampires. They nodded.
Now that that was taken care of Spike led them to a back room and Callies sobs could be heard clearer now. When he opened the door Willow was shocked to see Callie crying on Drusillas' shoulder. Spike motioned for the others to wait out of sight and moved to kneel in front of Callista. He gently pulled her away from Dru and took her hands in his. "Callie, there are some people here who are worried about you." He looked over his shoulder. "Come in Angel."
"Angel?" Callies' voice was uncertain and afraid. She gripped Spikes hands tightly in fear.
Angel stepped into the room. "It's okay Callie. I'm here. I know what happened and we'll get through it."
Spike stepped away and Angel took his place. He pulled her to him and held her trying to ease the pain.
Slowly Willow and Oz came into the room. "Callista?" Willow asked hesitantly
Callie's head snapped up. "Will?" Then she saw Oz. "Oh, God Oz. Oh God. I bit someone. I fed from a person. I could have killed him!"
"Callista!" Ozs' tone was firm. "You were upset. We all do stupid things when we're upset. I'm a werewolf, I should know."
"Thank you, Oz. But the rest hate me. They'll hate me more when they find out."
"They already know and they're already sorry for the way they treated you." Angel took her face in his hands. "Don't worry. It'll be okay. I promise. Here, why don't we let you and Willow talk for awhile. All right?"
When Callie nodded Angel stood up and motioned for the others to leave the room. Angel closed the door behind them.
When Willow emerged from the room a half hour later, she wore a look of deep concern.
"It's bad isn't it Angel?" she asked meeting his eyes.
"Yeah, it is. Is she sleeping?"
"Yes, she's exhausted."
"Well, what do we do about it? Cause taking her back to the library makes the kinda sense that's not." Oz asked.
"She can stay here for a few days." Spike had been waiting for that question. "You can stay too, Angel. I think she just needs a few days. When she's feeling better, and if they're actually sorry, they can come and apologize. Course, if I catch them here before then, I'll kick their asses."
"That's a good idea Spike. Oz and I should stay too." Willow was determined to help.
"What about school Willow? How are you going to get out of that?" Angel appreciated their help, but he didn't want them to get into trouble.
"School's been shut down for two weeks. Renovations or something. Anyway, Callie will need a girl to talk to and well, no offense Spike, but Drusilla isn't going to be much help there."
"No offense taken. It's the truth."
"Well, me and Oz will swing by our houses, tomorrow morning, pick up some stuff, lie to our parents and we'll be back after we pick up some non-blood things to eat." Willow was in plan mode.
"I'm going to go now and get some stuff from my apartment for me and Callie."
"Okay Angel. See ya when you get back."
Angel grabbed his coat and walked to the door. "Oh by the way Spike," he called over his shoulder. "They had better be just as I left them when I get back." And with that he was out the door.
"There's no bloody trust in this world."
Oz and Willow couldn't help but snicker.
